明天我们就能翻越山顶，和那些匈人正面对决。目前为止的生活实在太像度假了。你有看到他们的机枪，火炮，还有飞机吗？妈的。我们能活过这场战役饿几率微乎其微。这些魔鬼才没多强悍。我们的兄弟轻易就能打破他们的堡垒阵地。打破与堡垒防线并终结这场战争。法国人整整打了四年的仗。有人说只要对上坚守的德意志军队，短短四分钟我们看起来就会跟他们没两样。是啊，跟活死人大军差不多。

他们不过是一群男孩，认为他在能像参孙一样以一挡百，像是大卫一样击败巨人歌利亚。他们不知道现代的战争是硝烟弥漫的冲突，也是车轮与引擎的战斗，充斥着破碎的钢铁与会融化肺部的毒气。当我们挖掘战壕时，我们不只会挖出泥土，还有在鏖战中留下的腿，手，头骨，头盔与各种残骸。这才是我们所面对的现实。
