@andywht -- thanks for the kudos on scripting - though does look like I was not in a good 'attention to detail' reading mode the other day when I posted - which @mack.bolan pointed out - the one I was talking about is the original Build and Repair mod, not this one (which still works fine). (another reason I like Discord better - you can edit your posts! :P

@andywht the game freezes completely after starting the drill, worked fine before the FW update.

Ok just tested it to be sure with Better resources mod. Nothing to report, mod is working as intended. Sees and collects all modded ores no prob. What problem you guys having exactly?

@TechCoder Mod is completely fine. Play with it on everyday basis.Maybe there's something you're doing wrong (although I doubt it, seeing your skills with scripting)?

Tecchoder this mod is Drill and Fill not the Build and Repair one.

This version hasn't worked 'well' for a long time and the author is long gone.

Small ISsue found. On the moon using normal stone, I can drill and collect everything just fine. But the 4 Drills set to "Fill" do not fill. The other 2 functions work but not fill. I have a bug report and can email it.

I used this mod, in collect mode, to excavate a planetary encounter; so that I could salvage the wreck in it's entirety.
Once salvage operations were complete, I used the fill mode to restore the landscape to roughly what it was before the salvage operation.
I ended up with 5+ LCC's full of stone once the landscape restoration was complete.
Is there a reason why it uses significantly less stone the fill the hole that it dug?

@homadsen IMO logic behind this, gravel is sub product of stone, that's why you can't use it to fill voids. Maybe there are mods converting gravel into smth more useful. E.g. In Industrial overhaul gravel can be burnt in incinerator, converting it to other resource.

Thank YOU for making this, starting from scratch on new worlds is fun but grindy and this makes it way more fun, easier and faster to test stuff in Survival and just to do a playthrough

Love your mod ! just have one little thing i dont understand.. why cant we use gravel ? we have so much of it in survival mode and it would be great as filling. that is ! thank you so much for a very cool mod

"on different asteroids" - great, if within range (see @andywht comment, which is exactly my test results {'reliable up to ~3km, "works" up to 4 - after that.....'})
"on a turret" - WHY? the bots can be positioned directly.

@Du5t3 I know you can fiddle with the mod's files, increasing the distance. Although I've increased the distance up to 10k, I could drill only up to 2-3k. Try it for yourself and see what you can come up with.

I would like to make a venture from EVE. The idea is to have 6 of them targeting different ore deposits on different asteroids on a turret. Can we make this work? Distance is really the factor here. Anyone have thoughts?

ShadedMJ You can disable Ice as well, as any other ore

On collect mode I think ice is included in ore. I disabled stone and don't get stone. Ice still comes through and I'd rather not get ice.

Better labeling is needed for the mod. The settings are clear as mud.

As of 29 May 2024 it works perfectly, filters are working, collet/drill/fill modes are ok. A little trick: if you don't want to drill stone, set it to collect mode and disable the stone - then it will only drill ores from under the ground or boulders or asteroids.

Having the same issue as @Vas with the drill filter's not working. I don't want it to mine stone but it will.

is there a script that can be used with this, since it has the option to be controlled by a script at the bottom of the control panel scroll?

It seems that the patch that Keen published yesterday (17 May 2024) broke something. Before this patch, the mod worked, but now, with the Ptach, the Drills no longer dig and no longer collect. It is as if they no longer detect the ore (?)

This is casing my game to CTD when clicking to group them together, just so you know! It has done this to me about a year ago, but did manage to get it to group, and work, though. Trying a newer version.

Managed to get it kinda working. Was having problems with it stuck on drilling it looks like, even after switching to collect. It eventually did switch to collect though. Some options in the other mod suddenly locked though and I can't get them back. :/

Unfortunately, the filters don't appear to work. I can't tell it not to collect stone, I can't tell it not to drill stone.

@spartan_722 this sounds more like a server sync issues, because if the server is hosting the mod, everyone should see the voxel updates taking place. This shouldn't be a client side only, especially if other players are falling through what appears as solid ground.

mod works... kinda? im using it on my friends dedicated server and while yes it mines ore. i LOVE it but... i wont use it as only the host can see the hole its making... me and the other person playing dont see the hole being dug. but if we walk to it we fall through the ground.

can we have a bit more of a targeted drill. like all drones aim for enabled ores and dont just randomly go all over the allowed area

Anyone have an issue where the Horizontal offset keeps flipping from positive to negative or the other way around?

It's just amazing! It's a bit fantastic, even though the technology already exists. I would like to see an animation of a laser beam coming out of a nanite nozzle that melts rock (ore). At the moment, animation is a fantasy from the future. We just need laser beams!!!

Amazing mod, love if. If you're using this mod, I've uploaded a blueprint for a tunnel bore with 25 drill heads that has all their offsets pre-loaded to allow for the quick drilling of an area. I use it for drilling out large tunnels (usually 25x25x75) or mining (75x75x75) The blueprint is here
