I found the config. It's located at [YourOxygenNotIncludedFolder]/mods/Steam/1878592057/Config.json

Also here's a custom Config.json that closely matches the new in-game "relative temperature" slider:

The mod is back online and working, thank you!

For anyone wanting a somewhat better distinction between liquid hydrogen and oxygen temps, changing the near absolute 0 value in the config from 5 to 25 makes the gradient a bit comfier imo.

Hey, I just released version 5.1.0, I hope it will work for all the DLCs - I can't test it but it should.

Latest update broke the gradient. The values set in JSON no longer works, the game uses some default by itself (though the colours can still be changed).

It looks like the last update doesn't crash it but makes it kind of useless. It looks like the native overlay.

It could be easier to change the color. Opening a json file in a folder that I don't even know the number of (naturally), and changing RGB values ​​to HSVA using percentage took me a while to understand.
Furthermore, the mod is excellent. :steamthumbsup:

Just want to report that this stopped working for the base game when it updated to version 5.0 today. Game crashes from the main menu when enable it. Is it DLC only going forward?

@swistak after big merge, this no longer works on the base game with Harmony 2.0 update.

Please update it, and if you have no intentions to, would it be okay to fork it and fix it for someone else?

@TheNightglow: Well like you see its better to not touch the "Absolute Zero" step in config unless you know what you're doing :P I'm sure you can stretch some of the hotter temperature steps instead, but default preset should be good enough for most of the cases and better than vanilla for cold worlds.

@Swistak oh ok, the mod is still very helpful. I started on the cold astroid and needed a way to get the temperature colors all closer together to properly see where I am loosing heat to the environment. Since there are only 8 colors that means that my 'Absolute Zero' is starting at -20°C now lol https://i.imgur.com/Lq7kIJe.jpeg

@TheNightglow: Last time I checked it was hard-coded for 8 steps. There was no easy way to modify the number of them. I'm not saying its not possible at all but its difficult.

No, there's a new line of code needed or something. Any mods not updated to work with the DLC will have a "Not compatible with Spaced Out!" note in the mods menu. There are only 8 or so mods I've seen get updated so far, like https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1892161928

A very helpful improvement to this would be custom temperature ranges. Say I want to check temperatures within a hot industry area where everything is between 180 and 220 °C. The current overlay is not really helping here and I have to hover over tiles to see how hot they are. It would be great to tweak the overlay (e.g. with two sliders) to display 180 as cold, 220 as molten and apply the color differences to everything in-between.

Cool Mod. Sadly, the 7/7/2020 update (which brings color blind updates to all overlays), now causes this mod to crash the entire game. A simple update I presume, just bringing this up.

Is it possible to add more steps? Inside the base a little too much is green even where crops are too cold. I would like to add another step between temperature and chilled as it's currently a pretty big range.

I don't really know, but i saw a few fps improvements when i disabled it. My game already runs very poorly, and since then i have been disabling everything that is not absolutely necessary to see if i get any further improvements.

@yagiou: Any evidence? If you say it hurts FPS when not in temp overlay how can you tell it is this mod causing it? I just compared and there is no difference for me and there is no reason to be any - this mod is very simple and runs its logic only when you load the world or when you change config files.

It's more likely that its other mod causing it or your PC cant handle world as the game progresses.

Would it be possible to create a custom mode of the overlay that shows the change in heat in a spot? Like you can see the rate of cooling/heating? Because that's something I feel like the base game needs but doesn't have, and while I don't have an issue with the existing temperature overlay appearances, I would definitely use this if I could see that kind of thing.
