Does this still work?

Use Prop Anarchy Temp Fix For Hubs & Transport update (patch 1.16.1-f2)
officalblur 26 DIC 2022 a las 22:32
This mod is not compatible with the current game version. Use https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2696146766
yao_zhou 12 DIC 2022 a las 2:04
As for me, Prop Anarchy 0.7.6 is better.
Vanta 1 OCT 2022 a las 19:46
@LDtailor or someone who knows - What's the name of the mod that creates a non conforming version of props?
Teddy Radko 22 SEP 2022 a las 5:06
@LemonsterOG very late answer but I should answer anyway because it might be important for you to know, if you dont already. Saving themes in Theme Mixer 2 acts as if you subscribe to an asset ingame and can wreck havoc this way.
Nickayz 20 MAR 2022 a las 3:48
@jeremy.thunder
You can use Prop Anarchy: https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2696146766 with Move It to colour props.
jeremy.thunder 22 FEB 2022 a las 10:02
hoping to see the PaintUI make it to one of the modern big umbrella mods, i really miss being able to recolor buildings with move it :(
KEDOU21 10 ENE 2022 a las 22:09
broke
Joe 13 DIC 2021 a las 4:16
The colour board is just stuck on the screen and the height alignment tools in Move It don't work!
RubyRobbins 31 OCT 2021 a las 17:42
I am having the same problem as @Ryuichi Kaminogi

I use copy and paste with 'Move It' a lot, and every time I do so the props, trees, hedges, flowers etc were turning different shades of grey, black or a shade lighter than their original colour. If I imported a file from 'Move it' the props etc in those also are in different colours/shades.

It is not only 'Move It' that causes this. It also can happen with 'PLT' or just pulling the object out of the UI.
LDtailor 21 SEP 2021 a las 2:53
@LemonsterOG - from my experience, Theme Mixer 2 does impact, this mod's behaviour, as stated by the author in the description. When you save a mix, the game reads it as a new mod subscribed. And once you do, you can't revert back. I forgot that and saved a mix in a city and prop painter stopped working. I was carefull enough not to do so in other city and it's working fine..

@Teddy Radko - the only way around i found is to convert the prop with PO and paint it with it. Which is a pain and only works with non-conforming to terrain assets. There is a mod that creates a non-conforming version of props that can also help.
LemonsterOG 14 SEP 2021 a las 6:06
@Teddy Radko -- First, Theme Mixer 2 doesn't have any effect here, so that's not what's happening. It has long been established in these comments that the reason props lose the color changes applied by this mod are caused by players subscribing/unsubscribing anything from the workshop while the game is running.
Teddy Radko 14 SEP 2021 a las 5:25
Yes so i think i encountered the "corruption" issue when i saved a new theme mix. Now this save and subsequent saves won't save prop paint customization. If anyone finds a solution to this please post here how you did it!
baronjutter 29 JUN 2021 a las 13:30
I downloaded some graffiti and tags that are entirely white, which don't look great on white or light gray walls. Would this mod allow me to have the tags in black or other colours?
Ryuichi Kaminogi 15 JUN 2021 a las 4:22
This fence doesn't have color variations, so its color shouldn't be changed by just placing. In case you conclude "it's a color variation by prop"
Ryuichi Kaminogi 15 JUN 2021 a las 2:13
Normally we can change the color via color picker button on Move It, but sometimes the color goes randomly without any manual operation when I copy/place the prop via move it or PLT or find it UI menu. At first I thought it's Move It's matter but Quboid said it is caused by Prop Painter.

See my stream what happened: https://youtu.be/o_qSdNIukro?t=2540
at 42:37, 2 fences placed by PLT goes irregular colors ( black and white ). So I changed colors after placement.
LemonsterOG 14 JUN 2021 a las 8:32
@Gabrielium -- Many props have color variations built in. A great example is some citizen props have color variations that vary the race of the citizen when you plop them. Other examples would be flags or umbrellas. It all depends on how the prop author set it up.

All you have to do is, once placed, use this mod to change the color to the one you want. When multiple prop placements need changed, I would normally recommend the copy/paste option, but since that isn't working right now, your only choice is to change each prop individually.
Gabrielium  [autor] 14 JUN 2021 a las 8:14
so the prop has color variations? i'm confused why that would happen at all
Ryuichi Kaminogi 13 JUN 2021 a las 21:59
I have an issue for this: When I place props by hand or PLT, the color of the prop goes wrong. It happens 1~2 props per 10 props. It means placing gray props turns into gray/gray/gray/black/gray.
How can I fix that? or is it a bug?
Simuscape 8 JUN 2021 a las 5:52
@Gabrielium, no worries. Whenever you have the time... :)
Gabrielium  [autor] 8 JUN 2021 a las 5:42
huh you're right it doesn't work lol, okay I'll take a look because for some reason the buffer doesn't apply
Gabrielium  [autor] 8 JUN 2021 a las 5:40
I haven't really had issues copy+pasting; then again, I don't do it that often. I'll look at it, but I can't really guarantee that I'll have time to totally fix it. Weirdly enough I thought I had fixed it this last update.
Simuscape 6 JUN 2021 a las 0:50
@LemonsterOG -- actually that's not true - at least not in my case. I never subscribe, or unsubscribe for that matter, to any workshop items while the game is running...
LemonsterOG 3 JUN 2021 a las 7:32
@Simuscape -- For reverting colors, read the post just before your own.

As for copy/paste. That is actually an issue I've reported here at least twice, but have gotten no response.
Simuscape 2 JUN 2021 a las 16:21
Same issue, colors revert to orginial - and unable to copy and paste... :(
LemonsterOG 22 ABR 2021 a las 12:46
@[YDK]Syphon -- Losing previous "painting" is caused by subscribing/unsubscribing workshop items while the game is running. Also, you mentioned "reload". I hope you don't mean exiting to the main menu, then loading the game again. You must exit to the desktop every time.

You can read more about this here.
[YDK]Syphon 22 ABR 2021 a las 12:39
@WangYinX1, same for me, on reload, all colors revert to original. Haven't found the cause / mod conflict yet.
LemonsterOG 2 ABR 2021 a las 9:55
@Gabrielium -- I'm still not able to copy/paste. I've looked at everything I know to look at and absolutely cannot get it to work.
Jackson Wang 4 MAR 2021 a las 19:29
Recently, whenever I reload the game, items that have been colored are restored to their original colors. The trouble is that I haven't received any error reports, so I don't know how to fix the problem.
LemonsterOG 4 MAR 2021 a las 10:48
@Gabrielium -- I know this hasn't been updated since Oct 2020, but all of a sudden, today, the copy/paste isn't working properly. I changed an object to a brownish color, clicked copy, but when I attempt to paste it to another object, it's not doing it. I can't image what would be causing this.

If you have a chance, can you take a look and see if you can identify anything in my game log?
I'm on Mac, so my Mod Compatibility Report is built-in.

AstralSapphire 1 MAR 2021 a las 8:55
Damn okay, luckily not many props are affected and hopefully I should be able to use Repaint instead.
Gabrielium  [autor] 1 MAR 2021 a las 7:16
Yes, unless you want to go back to the old version of the save.
AstralSapphire 28 FEB 2021 a las 15:03
So If I have subscribed to an asset in-game which reset the colours, it's impossible to fix that save now?
Gabrielium  [autor] 17 FEB 2021 a las 21:41
Hello! Select a building or prop in Move It, and then use the color picker to change its color field value (which may change the roof, but may also change other parts of the building or prop). You can use the copy and paste buttons to copy and paste colors between different buildings or props.
§ol Invictv§ 17 FEB 2021 a las 8:56
Dumb question but how do you use this? I am able to get to the color palette but how do I apply the color to the roof of a building, for example? I am only presented with the buttons Copy & Paste. Lets say I want to turn the roof of a workshop asset green, what steps do I need to go through?
Tomahawk 9 FEB 2021 a las 11:24
Hi Gabrielium, thanks for replying. It is compatible, apart from those specific roads. They don't completely vanish from the game, instead they all change into the standard two lane road and in the menu they can still be found with their normal names, just with the picture of the vanilla two lane road. After deleting prop painter and reloading my save the roads were all back to normal. I have a lot of mods installed so I guess I can't be 100% sure but I can say for sure that with prop painter on I have this problem and with prop painter off I do not have the problem.
Gabrielium  [autor] 8 FEB 2021 a las 15:21
This mod is compatible with NExT2 though... try re-installing it?
Tomahawk 8 FEB 2021 a las 14:24
This is a fantastic mod and I used it for a few minutes after which I realised part of my non-vanilla roads had all been turned into standard two lane roads. Im pretty sure this mod has a conflict with Network Extensions 2, specifically for the pedestrian zoning roads (all) and oddly the national highway too. All other roads (also the others from NExt) were fine. Maybe this is all very obvious for those with experience in modding or I'm the last person using NExt, but figured I'd post it anyway.

I'm a bit sad that I have to choose and if I were to start a new city I think I'll choose this mod over the roads of NExt as it is so so easy to use and diversifies your city so much. So do use this mod, it works really well
btv 15 ENE 2021 a las 13:04
Thank you so much for sharing, I love move it and I use it 100 time a day, so I will use this one as well thank you :steamhappy:
Krimssone 16 DIC 2020 a las 22:44
... Well I don't subscribe mod ingame, so I won't do that for sure ! :steammocking:
Gabrielium  [autor] 13 DIC 2020 a las 5:14
The cause is subscribing to a mod ingame (which also breaks surface painter, for that matter). I will debug this eventually, but for now just don't do that.
Krimssone 13 DIC 2020 a las 2:45
Hello ! GG ! and thx Gabriellum ! If I can bring more info, well, I don't have theme mixer mod and I have the same issue. The only thing I could see in that direction, is that I have a custom theme (Laviante 2.0).
Gabrielium  [autor] 9 DIC 2020 a las 17:39
Excellent, again, thank you so much! I will update the description accordingly when I have time (and of course will attempt to debug the issue as well).
norlin.martin 8 DIC 2020 a las 8:38
Glad to help! So the moral is: stay away from creating new theme mixes mid-game (edit the current theme seems fine), it will break this mod and make you repaint everything painted with surface painter.
If you already have fallen into this trap and have a major city project ongoing (as I had) but have older saved versions of it as well, use export function in the "move it"-mod to export the new parts, load up an older save from before you created the theme, and import them (use "restore" to get it in the right place). You will have to repaint the imported parts, of course, but it can still save a lot of time. Procedural objects also have a similar export function. Happy playing, cheers
Davy Crockett 6 DIC 2020 a las 11:58
Hmm, now I know why mine is broken. Thank you
LemonsterOG 6 DIC 2020 a las 9:52
And that explains why I've never had an issue. I always make my theme mixes when I first start a city and save it using that city's name. Rarely, if ever, have I changed a theme once it's created. Because I make them up front and don't change them later, I haven't experienced any issues with Surface or Prop Painter mods. Interesting.

@norlin.martin -- This was an incredible find. Well done.
Gabrielium  [autor] 6 DIC 2020 a las 9:25
Holy cow, this makes so much sense! By creating a new theme mix, a new mod is created, thereby acting like an ingame mod subscription, therefore breaking Surface Painter and this mod. I never suspected Theme Mixer 2 to be the issue because I don't care about saving theme mixes and never have.

Frankly, I am not quite sure how to fix this issue. My best guess at the moment is that the game tries to load new save data on top of the save data that already exists when new mods were loaded. Not sure how to check for this, but I'll look at it eventually.

Unfortunately, as for recovering corrupted save data, I have truly no clue how to recover it because I have no way to view the serialized data.
norlin.martin 5 DIC 2020 a las 16:14
I can add that I've checked (on the same save) that if I don't do the steps in the theme mixer, everything still works as normal on edit props and surfaces > save > reload.
norlin.martin 5 DIC 2020 a las 16:08
Sure.
- I load up my (old) save (from when everything was working)
- I click theme mixer > terrain > change cliff texture, and select a texture from another theme
- Still in the theme mixer, I click the cogs at the bottom ("Mixes") and save a new mix, "test1".
(Still in the game, I can already notice that surface painter has started to behave strange: if I paint on an already painted surface, the paint disappears in a square around where I click)
- I save and quit the game
- I load up my game again. All painted surfaces are gone, and, relevant to your mod, all props are
back to default color.
- I set a color on a prop, save the game and quit
- I load up the game, the prop is back to default color once more.
