Just as a heads up. Discription says mass of 96.3KT, when picture says mass of 69.3kt. Is that that the difference after being fully loaded with Oxygen and Fuel, or is that just a typo?

when it comes to running past 100% I read somewhere that the generators only put out X amount and so if it goes beyond that you gain nothing, but it would guzzle fuel running at full power all the time. but you gain no more speed or electricity, because it has a maximum value per generator.

Not 100% sure but i would asume that, later in balancing, there will be some form device shutdown if the power request is greater than the generation.

To tell you the truth I do not know what that means. I do not understand the fact that ships can operate still after having exceeded theyr max output power of 100%. I thought it was only that they burn fuel much faster.

I tested her with fully loaded all cargo boxes to max capacity, and additional two SVs and two HVs on a planet with 1,21g and she flies descently. So at max tonnage, plus the vessels she was at 216kt and could maneuver on that planet. The only "issue" is that she pushes her generators to work at 119%. I have yet to test her on planets with higher g, but the tests so far shows her weak spot already.

Yeah you are right BigDaddyBulge420, good acceleration and lift but only 8 T2 RCS. Thats because of the classification as an Carrier. Don't meant to be too manoeuvre happy.
It has more than enough space left to customize it to your liking. The to big fuel rooms on the size could easily take many extra RCS and/or there is space near the side Ammo CC's!

This thing is heavy. It really doesn't turn well. Acceleration is great, but you can't manoeuvre very well.

started my small carrier the bottom floor is 8 blocks wide and 20 blocks long, but thats just the power room and HV dock. on top of that will be the full command center and living quarters in one. enough docking area for 2 svs too. not big, not meant to be but functional and probably very untalitarian as far as looks go.

You are right about the HV bay ramps I noticed once I tasted one more time. As for the 14x7 hangar doors at least for the top, seems to be a pretty easy modification. Since you have placed a twin 10x7. Just cutting her one forward blocks line, after the repair bay blocks line, is easy to give her a little more length and replace the hangar doors.

Of course the generators on the side might need to be added again and finally the needed blocks that will close the gap made by the resize after the cut.I do not think other devices are affected. Maybe the automation signalling might need to be re-set. The final result will be rewarding though.

All ramps and gangways are on signals. HV bay ramps are bound to landinggear. Every other has a sensor bound, so they open if you are near them. The 14x7 seemed too big while building. Something for the real big ships, some time...

Next are some bases an a POI. Iam on it :)

Big spacey but a little labyrinthian on how to move from one place to another. Why? Also you could go for the largest 14x7 hangar doors everywhere. I do not see why there is no way to retract the ramps of the HV bay.

Enough of cons though. I like the way the decks are divided. You think big but you could go bigger. HVs can recieve repair love too thanks to the cleverly positioned boarding ramp. I do not remember anyone use it on other bulds, and I congratulate you did.

She is big and can accomodate sizable vessels. The overal design is a little blocky, even though you seem to have done a decent work to smooth it, in every corner possible.

I give you my thumbs up and I encourage you to make more like this. Not just CVs, anything. I believe that you can improve on visuals.

@kevin298_727 That exactly my intepretation of an escort carrier, too. We are only on a bit diverent scale. With 1-2 SV and 1 HV i would call it something like a Corvette-Class ship. Size wise like my Jinx-Class Explorer.

Man that's a large ship... but a very nicely done ship at that. Great job on it.

I might even be able to find some ideas out of that hull for my own carrier in the future (but on a vastly smaller scale).

hmmm Escort Carrier huh? To me an Escort or Patrol Carrier would be smaller faster and carry less than a standard big carrier. but maybe its just me this seems pretty large for that role. nice design though. makes me want to make a small carrier for just one or two svs and maybe 1 hv... that might be fun.

No sorry i didn't check it in experimental for the LCD's but i'll revisit it when 10.5 hits public branch. And some of those specific textures are usually hard on the eyes but not the way you used them. It was never too much but rather allways the right amount :)

Hope you are in experimental, so the signs are working to ease the labyrinth. Thought too that the textures could be a bit much first, while building. But it worked for me. Tried to give the areas their own style with slightly changing textures. I love the new blockadditions so i use them although some of them are SC taxing.
On my own scale the Cortess, her name, is a light and fast frontside OP-Base with 2-3 destroyer/support ships. For the destroyer i have a shape in mind that i will begin after/within i finish some POI next. And thanks Greg007 i have an idea for a sistership.

I just spawned in this beast in creative and my god... I spent 45 minutes going through it (just doing some initial exploring to learn the layout) and every single minute was spent in awe of just how good this ship is. From the complex layout of all the rooms to the smallest details it was brilliant. The texturing uses a lot of the "hard-on-the-eye" textures but the colours + the shaping made it work very well.

The main eye-catcher for me was the window above the warp drive which did something you did overall very well throughout the ship. Namely displaying the cool models in a way that makes it look like it's really part of the ship (rather than just slapping it in there because that's what the game requires for it to function). I could write a whole encyclopedia down but you get the point :p I really like this ship! Excellent work!!!
