Glad you liked it nintendo.erk! Yeah, the map is a bit gimmicky ... also with all the lasers. Nice shot there :) And thanks for the playthrough, it's always informative to see others play your maps.

Very fun map. I was surprised to be able to hit a horizontal laser receiver with the cube
I loved the Laser show

I tried that quite long and quite often to no avail ... i believe that you have to place the ground portal in a very specific way for the laser to have the right angle. I always hit the arms of the angled panels when I tried. But that's ok, it's not the greatest map anyway...

ah...nevermind, I see the problem. On a related note, I played again and was still able to solve without the grated surface. by quickly lifting the cube up it's possible to hit it from the side that doesn't have angled panels in the way

Actually no. There's no such thing ... I believe this to be an 'echo' of the func_brush that forms the panel top. But I'm clueless what creates it ... the panel top is obviously attached properly to the panel arms. Well, I'd have to do more test but I can't amend that map now anyway ;)

I believe there is an un-parented clip brush that allows me to do this: screenshot

Hey Deathwish, thanks for playing and commenting! I watched your video and it is pretty much the intended way. But it's an older version of the map that apparently wasn't updated in your queue ... the current version has a slightly different architecture for the 'last' laser catcher to prevent hitting it from 'outside'. If you're interested you're more than welcome to play again :)

Btw, have played your map but couldn't yet make that last step with the cube in the funnel o_O

Here's my blind run, but I did go back to see how many ways I could activate the lasers and I stopped after about 3-4 different ways. Granted some were very very similar. I was also able to activate them in any order. 3, 2,1 or 2,3,1 etc. To me it doesn't make the challenge any better or worse. The main challenge was gettting to the exit and having the exit open.

Very cool map indeed!

Ok, I thought it would only take some minor fixes to deal with some of the shortcuts. But I had to invest more time and effort. I should probably take new screenshots now ;)

Thanks for playing and the file, Prototype! As usual you didn't choose the intended solution ... only the exit itself but I think (or hope!) there's only that one way. I knew that the portalable surface on the ceiling may be a problem but I couldn't figure out how ... now I know ;).

I will try and only do some minor changes, mostly concerning the catcher that activates the flip panel on the ceiling ... I was blind not to see that! But then again I only spent a day building this map :)

Nice map and errr... creative name ;) Didn't really like getting fried by the laser(s!) which were conveniently located directly above the portalable surfaces... I found hitting enabling the perpetual lasers easy, not sure if I did as intended though. Didn't use the grated surface. Two of the video panels in the exit elevator glitched, becoming visible through the wall... Here's my blindrun: https://www.dropbox.com/s/zvvrx5tl22eitya/laserhitspanel.dem

Thanks, you guys! I've wanted to do something with a multi-angled panel for some while now but never really came up with a worthy idea. This map started out with something completely different in my mind but moved into this direction. I'm glad you liked it!

Maybe I could have made the chamber a bit better looking or the puzzles a bit tighter but I didn't want to spend more than a day on making this test and my time was up ;)
