15+ hours later, steam still belives youve been offline for 78 days, no update and no replacement Mod appearing. the friends list/chat is the show as invisable i was talking about that glitched my viewing my own achievements i was talking about. and the mod ID You pasted is to this exact mod ID lol.

Just noticed, Steam doesnt think you have been online in over 77 days, ive noticed that when invisable some of the backend stuff on steam breaks(i notice it more because viewing my achieves lol) This time before uploading/updating the mod, change status OUT of invisable, to online or away, reboot steam, do the update/upload and see if it works then.

mod has NOT updated by its changelog/updating or in game either. tried with my van xp combo again, no morale, unsubbed, deleted verified game, resubbed tried again still no morale boost after rank up. even tried turn after rank up (second combat after promo) and still no morale.

your mod might have hit same problem or broke for same reason as MoreBoom who had to remake/post his mod as well as a seperate. see if you can contact and find out. might have to remake/post the mod because steam.

Not sure why Steam is fighting the update so hard. Tried republishing in the SDK and in the Mod Launcher. I'll keep at, not sure what else there is for updating...

Just unsubed deleted workshop folder for mod, restarted steam, resubbed and tried in game, was only for first promo from van +xp building (i realy wish other races had a damned XP source, specialy for the fish) and no morale bonus appeared for them. brand new scenario, sniper/klept/martial/tech commander. did absolutly nothing with army before they ranked up then started a battle to check if the morale bonus appeared which it hadnt. not sure if you have updated it yet or if steam broke your control/ability to change and update the mod like happens to various mods for different games in workshop.

that sounds like an awsome balance, and my concern about resurgence was the heroes one i kept thinking about revives them at 50% HP. if its only going to be 1hp for the units then that actualy sounds like balance could work. tho if possible might want to make sure the afterbattle heal goes off before resurgence if thats possible, or theywont be resing at 1hp lol

and hopinh steam finishign uploading your update soon. cause you allready posted about im assuming you allready submitted it lol. but the mod hasnt updated to me on steam just yet lol.

Alright, big thanks to Hyndis for the stop-gap solution while I continue doing bespoke upgrades in the background. I've bumped up the base rewards for Tier I units slightly, and left Tiers II, III and IV alone. Each and every Tier now has the following bonuses:

Level One: Bonus Morale (+100 Base Morale)
Level Two: Weak Regeneration (Heals 10% per Tactical Turn)
Level Three: Post-Battle Patching (Heals After Battle)
Level Four: Prime Immortality (Resurgence)

Let me know what you think. As a background note, the Vanguard are (Almost) totally done for bespoke upgrades, but I won't be able to release them on their own without utterly obliterating balance (As they inherit both base rewards AND Vanguard-only ones).

Sweet. Looking forward to the update. Having to win the battle seems like a reasonable enough balancing factor, and even then, resurgence at just 1hp means the army is in no condition to immediately fight again. It needs to heal. Either by stacking healing units in the army, by using a hospital, or using a strategic op to heal.

Not sure about individual ones for each unit or type/rank combo of the units, but immortality from heros ressurgence i feel would be overpowered for quite a few if global, but if you can at least seperate the promotions into racial trees (like van kir dvar etc, not npc's) it wold work for some and still give some stabilty and differences at same time. one thing i thought of tho was a slight change to how your promotions atm did work my thought was about original global nerfed design you had
1st promo +5hp
2nd promo is +5hp +1 regeneration
3rd promo +10hp +1 regen +x defense/resitances ,depending on you and others opinions, do they have better dmg resist or better debuffs/stagger resist
4th promo +20hp +3 regen +1.5 above resistance +x movement if thats possible, only seen it from hero only staggerreistance boots the FNG can move just as far as Vets with all there experience from battles and roaming, thats just wrong. and it gives a reason to acutaly have/use the hero boots to match

I'm currently working through on a unit by unit basis, but that's a great stop-gap solution. I'll add that to tonights' update.

Shouldn't really hit them any harder. The only one I was thinking might be overvalued is the Spacers. They tend to be glass cannons, so getting the added durability might imbalance them.

@Hyndis as much as I agree with the idea of getting high-value units back, this would make the bug faction a bit strong considering you'd just give them all regeneration and they'd be back at full health after a turn.

What about giving units resurgence at max rank?
The army would still need to win combat for a unit to resurge of course, but allowing it come back with even 1 hp would mean less anguish of losing such a valuable unit in auto combat. The player could more freely auto combat. Units that used resurgence would still need to heal up which takes time. Possibly multiple turns of sitting around while they heal. This also makes the hospital city upgrade very valuable.

i also dont have the mod showing as active (along wth 3 other of my 5 mods) only customized hero extras thats also in top actualy shows as an active mod, maybe because the others are all just edits basicly.

I'm having the same exact issue as sirsilloh. He's not the only one. The mod sounds great, just couldn't get it to work for me. Even tried making a paradox account and uninstalling/reinstalling the game. Just thought I'd leave a comment in case anyone knows of a fix.

Alright, good news everyone. I've tried a round-a-bout way of forcing individual unit upgrades per level... And it currently works. It's phenomenally slow to do (As each individual unit needs separate upgrades for each level, each of which require separate limitations per upgrade to prevent two units from double-dipping on bonuses).

I'm hoping to have a Vanguard-based update out by next week, and people can try it out and let me know.

Yeah, Tactical Combat only, won't have any effect on the strategic layer. And defences mean things like "Resistance to Psionics" or "Resistance to Thermal". As of this last update, I have added in +1 Armour and Shields for each of the last two levels, as I yanked a bunch of the other bonuses. Also, I'm aware, but if I did that Tier IV would become quite literally invulnerable.

That is the long term goal, but the game currently doesn't support individual unit level-up bonuses, only Tier ones. I can try creating individual unit properties as I play around with the resource editor, but I'm unsure if it will function or not.

Yep, should function AOK out of the gate, as the mod affects the Tier rewards for levelling up, rather than individual units.

I agree with your premise and I think the blandness of veteran units is problem worth of having a mod to resolve in theory. But simply buffing the numbers is not really the best approach for that. More HP/Defence makes evenly match opponent battles take longer for no reason (especially when everyone has regen) and more damage output would trivialise lesser engagements. In other words, even if you balance it well, you are still moving the tactical combat in the direction of greater tediousness. A better approach would be unlocking appropriately balanced new abilities for units at their higher levels or giving prime level units an extra mod slot or something effectively making veteran units offer more interesting tactical decisions.

I mean, in the launcher you activate/deactivate mods and there this mods appears normally. But when you create a new scenario the mods active appear at the bottom, and this one doesnt appear there. In fact i actually have 3 mods and only one of them appear there

Is the regeneration per turn in tactical combat?
And by all defences do you mean both armor and barrier? because functionally if the enemy doesn't use melee or psionic it's 6 extra damage reduction per instance of damage

Also, currently in the game, the amount of health a unit recives when leveling up is based on their tier
But a top level unit seems to have around 30-40% more health than a fresh one.
25 more health for a tier 4 is actually less than they get in the base game.
A tier 4 with 80 health will have 120 when primed, 40 more health.

I'll update the description when I land on final values that I like. The current buffs (Non-stacking) are:
Novice: +5 Health
Bronze: +10 Health, +1 all Defences
Silver: +15 Health, +2 all Defences
Gold: +20 Health, +2 all Defences, +2 Health Regeneration
Prime: +25 Health, +3 all Defences, +5 Health Regeneration

Indeed it does affect the AI as well. Lower Tier units will still get trounced by higher Tier ones, generally speaking. If you're expecting to simply show up to ruins with a squad of Tier I guys no problem, you're in for a nasty surprise.

I think you're confused, this doesn't increase the amount of XP units earn. In fact, it actually increases the amount needed to level up by 50% (Which has the effect of slowing experience progression). What it does is make levelling up more effective (You'll gain more health and defence at lower levels, and unlock things like regeneration at higher levels).

Yeah, I do intend to try and add more levels in to the game, and spread the upgrades out over them. In the interim, I may split the difference between vanilla and now (Or simply lower the benefits to Tier III and IV units).

I like the idea but the values are way unbalanced. If you stack healing and defensive buffes your unites are immortal and more powerful than heroes. In addition it is a hard nerf to xenoplague and psi-fish.

I miss the AOW 3 leveling system aswell, units here only gain life mostly, no new skills (or maybe a few?) no attack / defense upgrade per level, no more infinite champion rank to have our favorite units last longer in battle, that's a bit disappointing.

I actually edited the tables for what ranking up provides and what it costs, so it should naturally affect all units (The only differences being between the different Tiers, which are all setup differently to favour lower Tier units).
