Plus, American Republicanism isn't real Republicanism. You want the real deal, go to Ireland and find a historian. They'll explain to you what Republicanism really is.

The catch here is that each of them plays a key role in defining how much power a type of power gets to wield and which particular subtypes within the type gets to lead their type.

For example for clergy to get in power there'd need to be an ideological shift towards religious ethical values combined with an overall shift towards importance of ethical ideals over political and material.

For capitalists to utterly dominate like they do nowadays we'd need a joke of a political structure (yes, I'm looking at YOU, modern democracy), and almost non-existent focus on ethical ideals (I don't even have to comment on this part do I?).

Any ideology that ignores at least ONE of those stances is at best half-assed and at worst just plain fake.
Reianor 30 Jul, 2021 @ 1:51pm
“however, republics and democracies are simply methods for running a political system. If one of each historical republican group met, things'd get messy”

there are 3 types of stances that define society's live.
Ethical ideals. (religious included here)
Political structural ideals.
Material structural ideals.

All 3 are part on an ideology.

Saying “simply methods of running a political system” is immaturely dismissive of you.

Seems like, unfortunately, not.
catgirlforeskin 5 Nov, 2020 @ 4:24pm
i found that copy and pasting everything from Politics_Traits in this mod into the other one fixes it for me, until there's a fix from the author
catgirlforeskin 5 Nov, 2020 @ 1:09pm
hope this gets updated, love the idea of the original mod but it's so nonsensical
Ny_Hate_You 25 Sep, 2020 @ 10:57am
it doesn't work :(
Ny_Hate_You 25 Sep, 2020 @ 10:30am
Woah, 1.2 THANKS!!!!!
Meme Therapy 11 Mar, 2020 @ 5:54pm
Would love this for 1.1
Ny_Hate_You 5 Mar, 2020 @ 1:39pm
Hope to see this mod in 1.1
FiLaXx 2 Mar, 2020 @ 2:35pm
Pls update to 1.1
catgirlforeskin 24 Feb, 2020 @ 9:03pm
any chance of this getting updated for 1.1?
Galla 14 Jan, 2020 @ 8:24am
@oompityloop Well that is unless you have I heard a Rumor or Expanded Incidents. It means those of similar ideologies are more likely to form into Cliques, desert to make their own faction. It's more likely for Brawls and Fights between the opposing Cliques. This mod may not add anything significant but it can help supplement others who do.
wind-up mouse 10 Dec, 2019 @ 1:28pm
Does this work with the religion version aswell?
Lyseria 30 Aug, 2019 @ 10:31am
@ed asner
Sorry for posting off-topic here, I saw your comment over at the Rim Seraph Hair mod and I was wondering if you could share to me the retexture you did.
Struckneptune 23 Aug, 2019 @ 6:39am
@oompityloomp This guy just made an addon to another mod, if you have an issue with lack of gameplay bother him
oompityloomp 5 Aug, 2019 @ 11:09am
@liosalpha I don't even know what that is, of course I like to roleplay.
oompityloomp 5 Aug, 2019 @ 11:08am
@ed asner well yes, but politics has absolutely no effect besides disliking or liking someone. I don't believe that a colony of capitalists would share everything with each other. I mean of course people like to roleplay, I do too, I'm far from an exploiter of the game. Although why would anyone like someone or dislike someone based on something that absolutely won't matter at any point in the life of the colony? If there was a mod like this where you could choose to impliment communist, capitalist, etc. sort of systems into the game and those have special mood effects depending on which colonist got their wishes made. Anyways, I just think it's a waste of a good idea when it's just being used for a +15 or -15 on whether another colonist likes you.
ed asner  [author] 5 Aug, 2019 @ 4:14am
@oompityloomp, y'ever notice how Tynan describes the game as a story generator, rather than a colony simulator? Not everything's about gameplay mate.
ed asner  [author] 5 Aug, 2019 @ 4:11am
@liosalpha, the mod this one requires, planetside politics, gives a better description of what it all does, this version just includes the changes shown in the description.
ed asner  [author] 5 Aug, 2019 @ 4:10am
@Catto, probably not, that would require different changes, but I could look into doing it in the future.
ed asner  [author] 5 Aug, 2019 @ 4:10am
@keylocke, It's planetside politics but with the changes included in the description.
liosalpha 1 Aug, 2019 @ 10:15pm
@oompityloomp Some like to roleplay rather then mim max stats.
oompityloomp 1 Aug, 2019 @ 1:34am
whole mod seems kinda useless, all it does is have someone like someone else more or less based on a feature that doesn't effect gameplay in any sort of way
liosalpha 31 Jul, 2019 @ 11:51pm
And can you change pawns preferences? aka can you turn a liberal into conservative or the other way around?
liosalpha 31 Jul, 2019 @ 11:50pm
This looks interesting (thou this comment section will prob end up in a warzone. XD ) But I would like to know how this mod works.
Does it ad these as traits or as a separate thing (like how psychology ad the Kinsey scale)?
Can you ad some screens of the ingame effects?
Catto 31 Jul, 2019 @ 6:08pm
Does this work with the one that has religions in it?
keylocke 31 Jul, 2019 @ 7:29am
what does the mod actually do? how does it affect the gameplay? it didn't seem explained in the description
ed asner  [author] 29 Jul, 2019 @ 4:37am
@Black Goat, it's mostly flavour text and relations that've been changed for now. If you're interested in a Rimwriter patch, that'll be done soon too though. Also yeah, you need the original mod.
Rusturion 28 Jul, 2019 @ 7:37pm
You can change the preview image in the mod folder on your PC, and then upload as an update.
Rea 28 Jul, 2019 @ 6:18pm
@ed asner, true, but a fascist idealogy dies pretty quick in a small group; and most backgrounds in the also contradict it. @Black Goat, first, stop being edgy, nobody really finds that cool, second, it's just renaming to fit global political theory, like a translation sort of.
ed asner  [author] 28 Jul, 2019 @ 5:51pm
@⛧ Black Goat ⛧ Actually it's a set of changes made for personal use that just happens to address the concerns of commenters from the original mod but effectively it just makes the relations... Idk, less obviously written by an American (no offence but American politics and global politics are worlds apart) with a few extra changes on the side, because that's what irked me most about the original. It was going to be bundled with a Rimwriter patch too but I'm having trouble with that.
ed asner  [author] 28 Jul, 2019 @ 5:49pm
@eides72 I'll probably make most of 'em slightly rarer anyways but it's a sci-fi future with a theoretically infinite amount of societal possibilities, there's bound to be fascist or communist or anarchist planets, so it makes sense to have a decent amount of all of them.
Rea 28 Jul, 2019 @ 1:43pm
Could you make some rarer? Communists are fairly uncommon usually (most just go along with whatever their country is doing), and fascists are very rare.
kon. 28 Jul, 2019 @ 12:03pm
i really like the thumbnail LOL
