Yeah, HAR having that issue is definitely painful, hope to see it get fixed and having Pawnmorpher see the current version of Rimworld. Definitely one of my favourite if not most favourite mod for Rimworld.

This mod is top tier amazing and adds a lot more fun to the game! :cool_seagull: I'm sad to start a 1.6 playthrough without it. It's going to be boring not having my pawns mysteriously turn into Thrumbos nor recruiting raccoons or other random animals with human minds.

I'll just state what Zera has said on the Discord -- unfortunately, HAR has an issue with its recent updates where races are taking 15 seconds per race to load on game-start. With all the races we have in the mod, that means *28 minutes* just to load those. Obviously, this is unworkable. Unless this is fixed by erdelf, we would have to rewrite the entire mod without HAR, which Zera does not have the time or motivation to do at this time.

Your mod was always quite a bit fun, and it really is a shame it's not come to 1.6 as of yet. Hoping to at least see a " We're here, working on things " post at the very least soon. Would be unfortunate to find the mod abandoned.

I agree with that 100% Red Star. This is one of the most interesting mod's for any game I have seen in a long time. I look forward to seeing it in action again! To the creators I say take your time, better to take things slow and make sure you don't make any major mistakes, I can wait for the update for quite some time, after all I do have other stuff to play besides Rim World even if they are not quite as awesome as Rim World is. :SoM_Flammie::steamthumbsup:

as a mod developer for various games for the last 23 years i can say that its all about passion and motivation to work on the project, after all if it was just about being prepared in this case the 1.6 patch was in open beta for a month , which is plenty of time to get started IF you have the passion and motivation to do so, most of the time its more about being burnt out and it not being fun anymjore, and in those cases, its best to just pass the legacy on to someone else if taking a break doesnt work to resolve being burnt out.

Agreed, I'm super excited for 1.6. I love this mod, but I'd hate to think that the creator would sacrifice part of their personal life to push themselves too much all for the sake of me being able to play a mod. It's exciting and every bit of the work the creator does is appreciated and beloved, but they can take their time. We all have lives outside of these things and they deserve to be given the time to address a mod when they are able.

Yall let them work. If you want a 1.6 version faster, either contribute or make it yourself. Repeatedly asking for 1.6 only demoralizes them.

please, let the author do his/her work, after all, if you are impatient, do a continued version where it can act as a placeholder until either A, the author is done, or B, a means to continue his work without him/her being burned out.

@Chip - this will be a version update, we don't have plans to add new content at this time. We are all pretty burned out on Rimworld :P

For people asking 'when 1.6', it's in motion, but I don't have an ETA.

after the update for 1.6 compatibility, will this mod eventually get new content such as stuff for some or all of the animals added in odyssey, or is it basically "complete" and only getting compatibility updates for new versions of rimworld

This mod has been out since 2019, and you're still updating it in 2025 to keep up with new versions? People like you are the reason Rimworld has such a robust and amazing modding scene! Take all the time you need to update, we're just thankful this mod exists at all!

Well, once the process to update it starts, commits would appear on the dev branch, yes. But that hasn't started yet.

Yes, but I don't have an ETA of when it will be done, probably not before 1.6 officially releases. Zera is the only one with the ability to do so, and his schedule does not currently permit. It'll get done, but probably not for a bit.

Hello. Will you be updating this to 1.6 now that the dependencies are updated? (Technically you have to use the dev version of HAR for now, though.)
