Extract the zip file to documents/paradox interactive/stellaris/mod/
Now you should have a folder that starts with Known-Precursor in your mod folder. Rename that folder to KnownPrecursor.
Now you go into that folder and find the file called descriptor.mod
Copy that file into the mod folder and rename it to KnownPrecursor
Now open that file in any text editor and add this to a new line at the end of the file: path="mod/KnownPrecursor"
Now if you open the launcher it should be in the mod list.

Oskar... thank you! I found it and now have it. But, being crap at computers, what do I do with it? Do I need to put it in the Paradox Interactive folder under Windows Program Files?

You can access old versions on github. https://github.com/oskar94/Known-Precursor/tree/d3ac005d43a6897d59e5b9b3f138dcf3af18e1ff should work for 2.6.x

Oskar, if you're still monitoring these comments, do you still have any old betas available for this great mod? I'm not fond of the way Stellaris has gone and far prefer playing an older beta such as the Verne 2.6.3.

It doesn't fire on day one, but the selection should pop up ~1 month into the game. It has more mod precursors and the storm precursors as well.

When I select multiple precursors *the all precursors appears at the same game.* Is it your intention?

It's a minor thing, but it would be handy if the 'Confirm selection' either required a secondary confirmation window, or could be moved to the bottom of the list so that one doesn't accidentally click it instead of the 'Cancel' button. It'd save me from having to restart good games when one has accidentally misclicked.

I do not know if this is a common issue or just one I accidentally discovered. But I forced my precursor to be the Zroni nad while I continued to find archeology sites for then, the event chain was not appearing in my situation log and their home system never spawned (though I do not know if I got far enough for that to happen) nor could I use minor relics to force spawn another site until I unlocked the system like in vanilla.

Def needs an update, this mod breaks for individualist machines, denying them a leader pool at the start of the game for some reason

Hi, I saved the game at the very start of the game to use a console command and reloaded but it meant the Mod Menu didn't fire off - do you have any suggestions on being able to trigger it on the first day again? thanks

Update: Actually it seems like the mod sometimes skips a selected precursor in the current game version.

For example, i selected the Zroni, Cybrex, First League and Vultaum.

However the Cybrex chain never appeared, while everything else is already completed. There also is no relic option for "Discover Precursor Insight" anymore.

Seems like the Zroni digsite has a tendency to spawn very very far out in space, or not at all

I just had an issue where the game spawned a Baol digsite...on the same planet as it had already spawned a Zroni digsite on.

Managed to cause the CTD a few times now. After testing and looking at paradox bug reports this seems to be a game issue since there seems to be several mods having the simular issues.
Rolled back to 3.9.1 and had no crashes so that might work until a new patch comes out.

Also had a couple occurrences just now with On the Shoulders of Giants, but that doesn't surprise me considering the (somewhat recent) issues with that origin and precursors to begin with

My subscription didn't update. Unsubbed and resubbed, now showing 3.9.*
Removed all other mods.
Issue still occurs. Not every time, but it is repeatable.

Create Knights of the Toxic God origin species.
Start game (Medium size, default settings was what I was testing with). Select Cybrex, Irassian, or Baol (these were the most common ones to cause it for me)

I didn't have this issue with any other origin in testing. KotTG origin seems to happen 50-75% of the time? So maybe there is something with that origin's galaxy generation that isn't interacting with the mod well?

Updated to Stellaris 3.9.*
I'm unable to replicate the CTD error and would need more information to locate the issue.

I am getting the same issue as Kail. Doesn't happen every time, but often enough to be a pain
