We declared war on Romania, Hungary, and Bulgaria in 1943 I believe.

"marking the first American declaration of war since 1943." Should be 1941, no?

You are welcome. There is not much we can do when memory error happens in a middle of the game. Speaking of the mistake, I just want to try how good the game run with my new i5 CPU, and so far the performance is not disappointing.

I will definitely try again to re-coordinate everything manually on the next game. Now I know how precious the carrier munitions and SM-6s are. Also may try not to push for Anti-Sub before the shoreline sky is cleared.

@Dysta Yes, coordination is essential to ensure the survival of your assets. If you let things slip through, you're definitely going to get punished!

@Excroat3 Sounds like you handled the initial attacks well and mitigated the later ones through your own strikes. Sorry this hit your PC so hard, I don't know if there's a ton I can do to mitigate performance issues with this large of a scenario.

I made it to around 4-6 hours in and was able to parry most of the initial ASBM and ASM strikes on my carriers. I coordinated a massive strike from both carrier groups, my Ohio, my bombers, and a ton of strike aircraft, launching Tomahawks/JASSMs/LRASMs/MALDs/SLAM-ERs/CALCMs/Kitchen Sinks at both Chinese CSGs and every airbase. The hope was to follow the missiles in with SEAD/Drones to shut down as many airbases and SAM sites as possible, but it turns out that launching nearly 1000 missiles of all kinds isn't too kind to my computer, and it can barely run the scenario anymore.

Played 3 days and the game only gone around 12 hours. I don't play the whole battle manually and use mission editors to let US run by their own. At firs 2 hours, the massive A2A crashed my computer more than 10 times, and then the naval strikes against PLAN also give me some crashes.

I thought this scenario will ended up another US blitz-victory against Chinese military, but I was wrong horribly. After sunk two fleets including those carriers of PLAN, the nightmare began -- US CSGs get pounded and lurked by PLAN Subs, and then more new waves of PLAAF ASuMs hitting them. Then DF-21D and DF-26(D) came and sank two US carriers from their routs.

It's an absolute disaster, and IMO the US should retreat and the game is over. But I had decided to give George Washington one last chance to turn the tide. Because there are still 4 days left, I will try to continue the game by using all the USAF and USN assets to control Chinese sky. If not succeed, this scenario is truly not for everyone.

@[21Tac] Hornet I'm Having Great fun in the early stages, The Heli base in the north and guam throws up "Null" which i assume is cos i'm missing Chains of war. Thanks.

I would have expect North Korea and Iran will further chaotify the Chinese nuclear armageddon by joining force and keep other US/Western fleets busy at Far East water (Horumz Strait is too far for this scenario). I also imagine 5th fleet will be hesitant to join the war especially they've been planned to attack Iran since Obama presidency. So US will initially have 7th fleet to sucker-strike Chinese major cities and industrial infrastructure, in return of genocidal retaliation.

Also, since INF is in a dead water, I also expect US Army will make good use by immediately field with new GLCMs and SRBMs in Japan and other ally regions. Maybe some un-mothballed Tomahawks and ATACMS-ER will do the nasty jobs.

I love armageddon scenarios, to let player experience the absolute insanity made by humans.

@MAJORRILEYJ They play a major role in the scenario. If you want you can go into the editor and remove them if you can't play with them. However I would recommend Chains of War as it will be necessary for later missions.

I dot have the railgun & emp assets. are they vital?

Great to see so many players chipping in with the feedback. Well done all... @Homet is a great scen designer and feedback like this will only make things even better long term :)
WarEagle22  [author] 22 Jun, 2019 @ 1:19pm
Interesting. I also updated the doctrine for the refueling missions.
Excroat3 22 Jun, 2019 @ 1:11pm
I only shot 376 AMRAAMS total when I ran out at Kadena. The supply ships in the harbor had a ton tho, so I used the editor to "unload" the AMRAAMS from one of the ships to the magazine at the base, and that gave me 700 more, so I should be good there.
WarEagle22  [author] 22 Jun, 2019 @ 1:05pm
@Excroat3 Yes, they're brutal haha. How'd you manage to shoot over 1000 AMRAAMS in 2 hours of gameplay?!? That's crazy. I have added additional AMRAAMS to ensure there's enough. In addtion @Sober Mans Secret I have edited the scenario, removing some of the unused airbases and adding a note to the briefing.

Thanks for the feedback guys, I really appreciate it as it makes this mission better as well as making future missions better. I'm hoping to do another 3-5 missions in this campaign.
Excroat3 22 Jun, 2019 @ 12:27pm
2 hours in, and all I can say is **** the PL-15 and Chinese 5th gen jets.

Also completely out of AIM-120Ds at Kadena, so you might want to bump their stocks up
Sober Mans Secret 21 Jun, 2019 @ 3:22pm
Maybe you could mention the airbases or some of them in the mission intel report and leave a couple as possibly operational / on standby?
WarEagle22  [author] 21 Jun, 2019 @ 3:18pm
@Excroat3 The SAM movement in set by doctrine, they are moving to attack. The tankers are an error on my part, thought I changed their doctrine. And yes, the empty Chinese airbases are there as diversions so they are unnecessary.
Excroat3 21 Jun, 2019 @ 3:03pm
The tankers for the ferry missions have their doctrine set to not allow air-to-air refueling.
Some of the Chinese SAM groups start driving around at 30 knots at scenario start. Not sure if intentional, but you might want to consider setting them to not move.
I had to delete a bunch of the empty Chinese airbases in order to improve game speed, hopefully that doesn't mess with any of your missions.

Can't wait to get on this.... Great series so far. You have a real talent for operational scenarios :)
