Glad it's a success! It's also probably worth mentioning that the new renderer in EE might change the way it looks compared to vanilla, as well as anything I did differently with the texture.

OMG, I just check it out in my vanilla Age of Mythology and I have to say that is the exactly same texture (just a few pixels are different, but everything else is the same thing), so thank you so much for bringing this mod, this is how I remember the Anubite :).

I don't know. The only picture I found of the original vanilla one was the one sent by a friend.

I always liked more the original vanilla texture of the Anubite that the Titans Expansion one, this is the same?

Oh I didn't get it until now, sorry.

Nick is indeed correct: I didn't want to break online compatibility with this.

Though I don't know how to "properly" edit GRN model files (my method of changing the target texture is sadly notepad), it should be possible provided you don't take it online...

I think the whole point of this mod is so it's just texture replacer so it's online compatible. If Loggy modifies his mod to work like mine, then the anim files needs to be modified and that automatically marks it as Desync Sensitive.

By the way, can you make it change the look only when it have been upgraded like how Nick3069 did with his mods?
Fawfaw 7 Jul, 2019 @ 9:18am
Nick3069 is one of the best modders of this game in my opinion. He made many great mods, including one for me, so I very appreciate him.
But in this case, I think I would prefer your version, because you have removed the player colour from the skirt and eventually retextured the broad collar which made it looks very unique. We can still distinguish Anubite's side thanks to the player colour on its head and arms.

Btw you two are both great. Thanks! :steamhappy: :steamhappy:

I was sent a screenshot supposedly from vanilla where it had the white skirt, and decided I actually liked it better than the coloured one. Not really any other reason than that!

Thanks for linking to my mod. I have one question: Why did you remove the player colour from the skirt?

anyone willing to remaster or remake this entire game with better graphics and more realistic textures?
Kirama1459 3 Jul, 2019 @ 10:26am
Thanks guys

Thanks a lot for the responses dude, I don't use any terrain textures either, they don't really keep the style of the vanilla game.
Loggy  [author] 2 Jul, 2019 @ 2:05pm
Still undecided on which terrain to use - other than that, I don't use much other than my own. I'm trying to keep online play open here :P
Trevor Reznik 2 Jul, 2019 @ 9:06am
What graphics mods do you use personally? To make the game look that bit better? :)
Loggy  [author] 2 Jul, 2019 @ 5:33am
I don't really know how the shadows work that well - I'm not sure there's that much that can be done with them considering it's likely handled by the renderer.
Trevor Reznik 1 Jul, 2019 @ 9:07am
So true. Any way to make the vanilla shadows any better? :P
Loggy  [author] 30 Jun, 2019 @ 3:17pm
Hmm, well better is subjective. If memory serves the Avenger one looks like Donald Duck :P
Trevor Reznik 30 Jun, 2019 @ 12:08pm
If they look better than vanilla, then sure :P

My artistic skills aren't really up to much - but there are some more unused textures for units kicking about the game files...
Trevor Reznik 30 Jun, 2019 @ 10:02am
Looks good, any more retextures?
