@agentlaidlaw I have a copy of this mod from the workshop that I had seperated from steam if that what you need.
agentlaidlaw  [author] 16 May, 2021 @ 10:46pm
i lost my original workshop files (drive that had them dieded) so i can no longer update this mod. i'm slowly remaking my mods. i don't know if i'll remake this mod as i personally replaced it with another mod i made, and already re-released it. but i'll keep this one up. just be warned, this one won't ever be updated again for the reason stated above.

Love your mod I've been using it for quite a while however I cant seem to shake the thought of using hydrogen as well.
I was just hoping to see if the Electro/Hydro problem you were having was fixed or if you were able to find a work around it because id also like to see an Electro/Hydro thruster with the V1 performance.

@blade viridian atm no. but if you want to feel free to fork my mod.
Blade Viridian 8 Nov, 2019 @ 4:49pm
hey quick question
do yo plan to add your own thruster models to this?
agentlaidlaw  [author] 30 Oct, 2019 @ 3:30pm
@Whisper with inertia dampener on the craft it should hover fine when idle. just make sure you have enough thrust and power output to maintain it at idle. sorry for the delay. i've been caught up in wow classic.
Torpedoandi 8 Oct, 2019 @ 1:12pm
Works fine :)
The Old Fossil 9 Aug, 2019 @ 11:50am
nice thrust on these, but sadly no idle capability so in atmosphere you take your hand off the throttle down you go lol.

I really am not a pro at this, I just had the connections and askd xD
Please discuss with them, I'd like to see this woking

@chaos_02
I am completely new to scripting but already started to draft one from seeing advise about doing it via a script from reddit. It be fun getting it going as having thrusters that require two sources of fuel would be pretty damn cool. Especially making it that say if hydrogen is knocked offline, it draws solely from power but drops thruster force power. Vice versa with cutting off power and only running off hydrogen.
agentlaidlaw  [author] 27 Jun, 2019 @ 10:03am
@chaos_02 yeah from the SBC it's definitely not possible. It actually has really odd behavior. If I go into the control panel and do manual thrust by maxing it out with the slider, with my testing thruster, it will draw 32MW (even though I set it to 250MW in the SBC), and draw full amount of hydrogen I set. But if I disable manual thrust and just activate them by doing "W" it will draw 0 power and only hydrogen. Hydrogen thrusters do appear to require a extremely tiny amount of power to turn on so that is true, they technically do, but they draw super low amounts and it doesn't appear to change regardless what you set the value to.
Chaos_02 27 Jun, 2019 @ 4:03am
I guess you can hook them up and change the way you did the ressource consumption :)

quick question:
Can modded thrusters use both hydrogen and electricity or only one because it is hardcoded?
ZkillerproxyToday at 12:13 PM
Idk about from the sbc file, but from a script that's definitely possible, in fact there is no limit to how many different types of resources something needs.
Chaos_02Today at 12:19 PM
ok thanks
Meridius_IX / LucasToday at 12:37 PM
Technically they already do, just the electricity is consumed in a very tiny amount
Chaos_02 27 Jun, 2019 @ 3:07am
ill just drop the armco server link here :)
https://discord.gg/armco
just mention him in #modders-workshop
Chaos_02 27 Jun, 2019 @ 3:05am
maybe it is hard coded into the game?
That would be sad of course but go ask a modder like Kreeg on Discord, he should know...
agentlaidlaw  [author] 26 Jun, 2019 @ 9:53pm
@chaos i've been trying to figure out how to get the thrusters to use both power and hydrogen simultaneously but sadly once you toss on hydrogen it stops using power. doesn't appear to be able to use both simultaneously :( from googling it seems others have been running into this problem for awhile as it appears to be a keen issue.
Chaos_02 26 Jun, 2019 @ 1:20am
That future h2+electric version would be great! Also rebalancing would be good so the combined engines are a bit better than Hydro on its own + electric
Blade Viridian 25 Jun, 2019 @ 9:03pm
yes pretty flames is what i came for
agentlaidlaw  [author] 25 Jun, 2019 @ 4:24pm
@cen2050 super glad to hear :steamhappy: thank you :)
cen2050 24 Jun, 2019 @ 6:38pm
After having tried these, I am VERY pleased with their performance. I also appreciate the larger exhaust flame. I'll be retrofitting my entire fleet with these new engines.
agentlaidlaw  [author] 20 Jun, 2019 @ 12:36pm
@G.A. that is a good idea about construction components. i'll go ahead to do that. i generally skip over that because i usually don't build the survival way. even though i host a survival server for my friends i usually just give myself admin creative tools lol.
G.A. 20 Jun, 2019 @ 12:23pm
Reactor engine, really? Are you serious?
Well, that's your thing.

Perhaps it wanted to adjust - to balance construction costs.
Because your engines do not consume gas as fuel, but energy like Ion thrusters, they should have similar construction costs. Missing there 'componnet thrusters "? It would be logical for the transmission of energy into the thrusters, add Superconductors.
This will avoid the use of platinum and still be reasonably logical "real".
cen2050 19 Jun, 2019 @ 6:24pm
I'm excited to try these!
