Fully reinstalled the launcher and Stellaris, but the launcher is telling me this mod has no descriptor file and cannot be loaded. I see there is one in the zip file but I don't understand why its preventing me from loading it.

Super late, but with my issue earlier, we solved it by the host going into the save solo, keeping it paused, and using the commands to give it back, and we loaded the new save.

I played with this a little bit; is it true that the neutral zone is basically "invincible", there's no way for the AI to attack it or take it over at all, but the player can take it back whenever he wants? Seems a little OP honestly... usually a "neutral zone" is somewhere where both sides agree not to take it over, rather than a way to fence in the unstoppable murderous hive mind. ;)

I'll echo: Great idea! I used it for the first time and the neutral zone stayed for about a month, then went to unclaimed. Now comes the really tedious part of disabling other mods to figure out which one is causing the problem; I'd really rather finish the game I've already put time into. Anyone run into this already and/or have any helpful suggestions? Does the neutral zone have any requirements I missed, like a policy or something else?

Thank you, I'll try when I get home in a couple days!

@Soleil If you aren't in ironman, you can click the starbase of the system you want and type "own" in the console, which will return control to you.

The main purpose I was using the zone for was to keep distance between myself and a driven assimilator who hates border friction, but I purposely annexed a bit off for a vassal I'd make eventually, but now I cant regain control of it and give it to them.

I somehow lost the ability to convert the neutral zone back into my control, which kind of sucks because I was saving it to give to a vassal. Is there any way to regain control if I can't use the decision to do so?

Great idea! Is the zone automatically transferred to the AI if they take the region on the other side? Would be a bit weird if an AI cuts off all access to the neutral zone only for it to be returned to the player, or just has an unconquerable neutral zone stuck inside of it.

Just had a game where an empire's home system spawned right next to a xenophobe fallen empire...those two really could have used a neutral zone. Xenophobe fallen empires should have always had one from the start so they can't be so ticked off by some primitives deciding to build next door to them.

You made a new gameplay method! So genious. Thanks for great mod.

I love the idea of this and the strategic uses of this. I can see myself building lots of starbases and making Neutral Zones where I would otherwise be hesitant to take certain systems that count against my administrative capacity. Now that resource poor system can serve as a buffer instead of either falling to an enemy or being held pointlessly by me.

Cheers.

As usual, an interesting and exciting piece of work. I'd offer suggestions or feedback but I get the succinct feeling if you could you would, so a simple, "Thank you." should suffice.

Quite interesting. Have seen neutral zones by event for ST: Horizon.
Great to see them comming to usual Stellaris.
As @ArchmageTech posted already, wargoals to form neutral zones to end border friction would be cool.

Ah, thanks... Missed it.

Re-read the blurb.

for some reason I am unable to cancel the neutral zone status on systems I have set as neutral zones
TurboPickle 11 Jun, 2019 @ 10:47pm
it would be really cool if you can make a wargoal that would turn systems into a neutral zone. Would probably work like the claim system but of course the "claim" would be to the dummy empire
