This is a great mod but I am noticing the units are walking into battle with the sheathes as swords. Does anyone know what causes this? Thank you.

hey man love your mods! great work!! the only problems i am having are that this mod and the 47 bow maidens over wright each other (whichever is higher on the load order will be available) if you know any info, maybe im missing a sub mod. I know this is an older post too so hopefully you still get it

Ive not had any issues myself. some people got issues but its not always easy to determine why. Most never report issues, nor has there been any updates. all should be good.

Thanks anyways, I tested it just a little bit ago and it works, Immersive mainly edits everything in the startpos. So adding units doesn't damage it.

Im not sure. if immersive adds to the default ccampaign and nothing else, it should work.
But again, im unsure. Never tested or tried immersive.

You can still look into it, but I've not seen any custom built mods at all other than the anime ones, so I suspect if it was possible, much more experienced modders than me would've done it.
We did it with MTW2 and Rome 1 and such for instance. Idk why Shogun 2 was restricted.

Im afraid its not that simple. We never got proper creation tools for Shogun 2. Someone has used animators and 3D builder programs to design units like anime fantasy stuff but results were very raw, albeit I'm not critical of them.
CA never gave us proper tools. So to answer your question: yes you can do it, but I I do not remotely believe the models you'd create from scratch would be good. We're talking 1995 looking polygons.

Yeah I intended for them to be a slightly superior but more fun version of Katana Samurai / bodyguard defense. A shock-troop bunch of badasses. Master duelists without being in direct competition with the heroes.

Nonetheless, more fiction and japanese action movie logic went into this unit than thorough balancing :)
Same for all my units really, with slight exception to the Female ninja and dragon guard units. Those 2 required more work since their special abilities could easily be too ridiculous.

I think they are what was missing. In my game they only cost me 650, and kill way more than just katana samurai with lots of losses, but dealing a great blow. AI, seems not to invest too much in them so they are a slight imbalance for your ambitious lordly army. Using them wrongly gets everyone slaughtered, they are best if you surprise flak foes, or standing in your pike wall..

Not making any changes.
Feel free to edit them yourself using Packfile manager.
The unit is just fun with lots of nice abilities. All fantasy without being too overpowered. The fact that 3 sword ashigaru kill them is a good thing because they arent elite. Just a slightly different version of Katana samurai with some fun buffs.

Once again. Feel free to rebalance them yourself.

This needs rebalance. Badly.

Unit on its own has good stats, abilities, but its useless because its price. Tried some experiments in custom battles.

They DO defeat Ronins/Samurais in 1 vs 1... But get literally obliterated if you use "equal resources" condition.

Your ronins cost 1300. For example, sword Ashigaru cost 400.
1 vs 1 ronins win... with 50% casualities!
If I send 3 sword ashigaru units (so I still spare 100 koku) agaist 1 ronins, theese dudes get OBLITERATED.

I think it would be more practical/accurate if Ronins were like this:
a) Cheaper than samurai (but more expensive than sword ashigaru)
b) High morale
c) Easy to kill (low defence)
d) Large units
e) Higher attack, charge bonus
f) Special abilities (like they have now) OR kisho training (not both so they are not overpowered)

I imagine them as a "substitude" to sword samurai+nodachi samurai (charge bonus) that are not available to Ikko Ikki. They would be "natural" next level of "sword ashigaru".

Hey man. Feel free to do it yourself. There are some tutorial links in my major mods where I explain how you can open files using simple, free software.

I dont have time to make a new mod upload these days but you opening the mod yourself to edit an existing one is very easy.
My tutorials or googling the method takes but a few minutes.

Cus if a supergood Ronin unit is only 100 men, it still takes the place of another unit slot where the normal is 200 or 160 men. And that just makes it wierd. pLs make a mod where inf is fix sum of men like 300 and cav is fix at 60 men and musqueteers is 200 men. (ninja is not a battle unit). And where is army rangers, First to battle fieild is ALWAYS lookouts troops....

How weird that it caused a glitch for you and not me knowing all is standalone = Independent of stuff which means that there should not be changes per rig.

Afraid not, man. I can't get around that without removing incredible head variation because of how Shogun 2 is designed.
If I remove all clipping heads it results in very very few faces and I'd like for the non-helmet wearing samurai to look varied.

CA never gave us an option to specify which heads use specific helmets. So i'm afraid theres nothing I can do to fix that.

Update out: Removed Data entry regarding a banner that I had disabled. Hopefully it'll fix your issue. But I genuinely dont know if it will, sir. Because I see nothing since I disabled the flag from appearing :)

Now, i dont know why you're getting a flag bug but I will try a fix although I have no clue if itll work because the mod is entirely stand-alone and any issue affecting you should technically affect me. Im removing a data entry and maybe itll work for you. Expect an update in a few minutes, sir.

98 % of issues I get reports of are typically results of mods interacting with eachother negatively.

Try to remove them all ( disable) and run only Ronin. See if the issue persists.
