thanks for at least telling us but pls just try esko is my best and favorite charecter, as soon as i got the game, i found esko and have been playing as him ever since and i wanna keep it that way

umm esko creator can you fix the hats?? ive noticed he wears his hats higher then usual. can you make an update where there are earholes for him in his hats like the straw hat.

I got to the last day of winter with this guy and starved to death. Never realized his hunger went down faster.

Still had fun with him, I guess I need to try a character who's less inclined to starve so fast, hehe.

(He rewards those who can use the speed to explore quickly and loot the things needed to sustain one's base, I believe.)

@Rhyko , to balance out the charcter(i think the hunger is kinda hard to deal with in a game called "Dont Starve" xD) maybe make it so hunger is average speed and limit is 150, sanity is 200 because 300 is op unless your trying to go insane. And maybe steal an idea from other cat mods: fish levels you up. Anyway if you cant fix the hunger maybe make fish restore alot of hunger. Thanks for your consideration.

Finally you should just keep testing and keep trying. A simple typo with a file name can cause the whole mod to crash sometimes, so make sure to be vigilant and double check your names whenever you can. It might be best to just compare your mod with another mod that you have subscribed to, or use another mod as the foundation for yours.

For the animation make sure to use a template and draw your character on another layer over that. Then once you have what you want you convert that to a .tex file just like everything else, and change the name to atlas-0. You will also have to use the BuildRenamer program for the build.bin file and replace the hex name of that file to your mod's name. By hex name I mean the name coded within that file that is called through it for your animation, and don't rename those files to anything else besides atlas-0.tex and build.bin and then place those in your zip or winrar folder in your anim folder.

For the images, you will have to create them and set them up before you can really test the mod out, but don't worry about crashes as it is part of the process and it is quite common when programming these types of things.

Just keep testing and make sure you replace the name of every wod file and wod names in your .xml files. Oh, and all your images need an xml file if you haven't found that out already, but your animation file works a little differently. :cwat:

Alright, well for some quick basics make sure you are using the Textool program to convert your images, and keep the default settings in the program. Also try and use other mods as your basis for creation. For example use the Textool program to create an image file of another mod's big portrait and use that as your resolution and put your image there then convert it back to a .tex file. For your xml file make sure you open it up with notepad or notepad++ and change all the names of wod (or if you're using another creator's mod then replace whatever mod codename they used) with the name you want to use for your mod. Each image should have their own folder, so there should be anim, bigportraits, images (saveslot_portraits, selectscreen_portraits), and then script which would be for your code, stats, and dialogue.

ive watched some vids and the only thing i am having problems with is that when i start my char it says it cannot find my big portrait then when i fix that it says cannot find my xml or after that my select or save potraits but i am pretty sure i am doing everything right but i dont know what the problem is

Hello poeple, sorry for not being here for some time school's become very busy. When I have more time like spring break next week I can try to update Esko, but otherwise I might create a whole new character as I want to change some of the art, sounds, items, and code. I mostly want to make a new character with new art as a new start, and I have no idea if anyone would like Esko to keep his original art.
