I understand why this mod was created. And I do approve. Still, I think 875 kg is too much. A Google search turns up that Asian elephants are quote, "often forced to carry about 450 kg on its back" but the article also bemoans how elephants are not built to carry heavy weight on their back and how it's animal abuse, especially since it often leads to spinal injuries and being abandoned.

Granted, RimWorld does not distinguish between Asian Elephants and African Elephants. And there is a difference: Asian Elephants are 7-10 feet tall and 6,000-11,000 pounds, while African Elephants are 10-12 feet tall and 8,000-12,000 pounds. Anyway, I guess the RimWorld Elephant could be a larger variety genetically engineered for carrying heavy loads?

BTW: The RimWorld Wiki claims that the carrying weight for Elephants is "300 kg". Is that inaccurate? But that wiki page was last updated August of 2022. Was Elephant carry weight buffed in RimWorld 1.3 or 1.4?

I would look into Animal Genetics mod. Adds breeding stats to all creatures even human-likes. For Meat, Leather, Damage, Speed, Health, Milk/Wool and Carrying values to increase and decrease as they breed. This provides you a reason to breed them for Food and Utility, no matter the stage of your playthrough.

I changed the baseBodySize from 4 --> 25. This is not entirely ideal because it also changes the amount of meat & fur they drop upon death. For balance reasons I also changed some other values but I'm not entirely happy with it so far.

I'm not sure if it can be done properly without resorting to C#.

Hi, I've been looking to change around stats of some animals for my plays of Rimworld and I was wondering what values did you change to get a higher carry weight?

I prefer Elephants ^^ and this mod is extremely unlikely to cause mod conflicts. But ye matter of opinion I guess.

"The intention was mainly that in endgame animals drain too much performance, yet I need them for caravan weight."

Thats why you just tame 6 thrumbo and install thrumbo extended. No more pack animal problems. And battel beast problems. Or any problems.
