I've read the discussion in the forums, and i honestly don't think it's as huge of a problem as it's made out to be. Yes, you can get a lot of money, but what do you actually DO with this money? Most of the time you're limited by the MPs, and if you try to take over more land you get hit with Over-extention and lose all of that money. Even then, while it's exploitable, it's certainly not game-breaking enough to require an add-on just to nerf it.

I'd rather see a higher penalty to going over the caps since this is the kind of thing a pure trading nation has to live off of - with the kind of money rolling in, they can go over their caps and make sure nobody can use their militaries, but they can't really do much due to how much time it requires to core something for it to not impact their trade.

Erm, it's still -exponential- if it's [trade value] * 1.01 ^ n over n trade jumps. Just sayin'.

problem is that you will generate way to much money, it ruins the game balance

I thought that was the point, so that you get a benefit for brining trade long distances back to your home node to collect
