Hi I love this mod, just letting you know though the Australian Focus, which is mint so good best yet; needs updates on so of the rewards. Like Focusing on Building the Bueafort but getting a research bonus to naval bombers. Because there is no naval bombers in the tech tree anymore you don't get any research bonus to medium aircraft. Also the decision in that focus didn't pop either. Another example is the Adelaide to Darwin railway focus did nothing, I'm guessing cause the centre of Australia is a wasteland.

Can you add on-map resource decisions to the different countries
(plz forgive my english, im from Denmark)
Will certainly be 'utilising' this mod over the week as suggested, I wonder if there is a mod out there for the Russian empire?

Thank you for maintaining this. Can't wait for the next patch release.

@Cúchullain91 - I'm really glad that you liked the mod. It certainly is intended to neatly fit over the vanilla system. I think your idea is a good one and I'll add it to my very long to do list once the GBR content is released.
WELSHY 6492  [author] 24 Sep @ 12:40pm
@sheep21 - Good spot on the British Malaya error. I'll implement a fix to that for the next patch. I'm glad to see that content is still being played but I'm aware it really needs a refresh.
WELSHY 6492  [author] 24 Sep @ 12:38pm
@everyone - Paradox Interactive have recently announced they will be releasing the Man the Guns DLC for free in their future patches. This should remove the last content hurdle for the mod once implemented.

does anyone know how I can get india into the federation? Is it pure RNG?
Cúchullain91 17 Aug @ 3:58am
Amazing mod Welshy - has basically replaced vanilla HoI4 for me. Really excited to see how the UK rework plays when it comes out!

One small idea, with the Imperial Federation. I enjoy how it is set up as an either/or between it and Steady as She Goes at the start, but would it be in your long term plan to allow a post-war attempt at federation, maybe depending on all going well in the war for the UK? Eg. Australia/NZ will only sign up if Singapore never fell, Canada contingent on not losing too many casualties etc?

Could be interesting imo, would add a lot of flavour to the late game - although very aware I'm in a minority of players that play past ~1945

Think i found a Bug: Playing as british malaya - completed equal rights for all but did not receive the +40% PP gain and still crippled by low popularity -40%PP, Great mod but its gonna force me to use console to add PP
adhyansh.singh 12 Aug @ 10:40am
do i need Man the Guns to use it or can i just play it without the DLC

groovy

@Pax - Nothing new in this update, in all honesty I thought I had uploaded the new version number in May but upon checking the steam page it didn't recognise this. So I uploaded it again to be sure.

Production wise I am beginning to be hopeful that the GBR release might be ready by Christmas (conscious that such proclamations made before have led to disappointment), but of course this isn't a firm release timeline and is subject to change.

Fun fact - so far alone there are over 15000 lines of code/scripting to create the decisions for the GBR content alone.
WELSHY 6492  [author] 31 Jul @ 2:14pm
@Crustys41 - Haven't tried it and to be honest I'd say you would be missing out from all of the key naval game play. Worth a try though I suppose... Good luck.
WELSHY 6492  [author] 31 Jul @ 2:13pm
@Cat_and_cat_inc - The reason for the use of the name "British Sudan" is two fold.

While officially Sudan was part of a British-Egyptian administration this was entirely a legal fiction. There was little official Egyptian presence. As a result most functions in Sudan were effectively operated as a British colony, but were operated through the foreign office rather than the colonial office to maintain the fiction.
Secondly - The name is quite long and frequently became illegible on the map when Sudan was invaded. As a result calling Sudan "British Sudan" both assisted game play recognition and reflected actual historical nuance. The flag is entirely my own creation based on the usual ensign combined with the Sudanese government emblem from the 1950s.

The reason Egypt is not a Dominion is due to game play reasons. Egypt only joined the war in 1945 but its territory was fought over throughout the desert war. Hoi4 mechanics can't reflect this without game breaking results.

New update?
Crustys41 22 Jul @ 10:10pm
is this mod still enjoyable or even playable without MTG?

Cat_and_cat_inc 1 Jul @ 12:39pm
For the Sudan one, at least on the map it is called British Sudan
Cat_and_cat_inc 1 Jul @ 12:34pm
Why is Sudan called British Sudan, I believe a more accurate name would be "Anglo-Egyptian Sudan," also, why is Egypt not a dominion?
WELSHY 6492  [author] 30 Jun @ 6:59am
@Dinoboy - Aye you certainly do. MTG is pretty important for the naval systems as only MTG based systems are utilised. I would say it is worth the investment as it drastically improves the Naval gameplay overall.
WELSHY 6492  [author] 30 Jun @ 6:57am
@Cyber - They did exist in the MTG but were not supported in the mod. Eventually they were causing major conflicts with the mechanics in the Mod so I decided to remove them. They still exist in vanilla/MTG of course.
WELSHY 6492  [author] 30 Jun @ 6:54am
@Lycaniz - Thank you for pointing that out, it was a bug which was interfering with the GB overhaul content. I've managed to de-conflict it now.
WELSHY 6492  [author] 30 Jun @ 6:52am
@Pops - I'm very glad you like it, please pass on a good word to your friends if possible.
Dinoboy 26 Jun @ 2:53pm
do you really need MTG
Zeo 11 Jun @ 2:56pm
Might just be losing it, I swear this mod had alternative ideology focus branches at some point? Were they removed?
Lycaniz 5 Jun @ 3:21pm
as UK, completing 'Imperial chemical industries' focus does not allow you to select the industrial concern 'Imperial chemical industries' that require that focus.
Pops 1 Jun @ 7:36am
Really cool mod I cannot believe I have just found it
UrlocalCommi 30 May @ 3:16pm
thx pookie
WELSHY 6492  [author] 26 May @ 3:12pm
@Eddy_94 - Not currently but I have added one into the GBR overhaul that is ongoing. I might add a temporary one into the UK focus tree.
WELSHY 6492  [author] 26 May @ 3:11pm
@j.newhouse - Thank you for mentioning. I'll need to sort that out.
WELSHY 6492  [author] 26 May @ 3:10pm
@General Castor - I suspect that there might be another mod interfering with the History files for the UK. Egypt and Mandatory Palestine should start as both under UK control alongside Jordan.
Eddy_94 26 May @ 2:55pm
Ehi, one question regarding special forces. In the Vanilla focus tree there is one focus that unlocks a second special forces branch. IS there a similar one for the UK in the mod?
j.newhouse 23 May @ 1:06am
Love this mod but noticed when playing as Australia the focus that gives bonuses to naval doctrine research uses a time reduction bonus instead of a naval xp reduction bonus.
General Castor 14 May @ 8:39am
British West Africa doesn't seem to start off as a puppet for me and are you supposed to start with direct control over egypt and mandatory palestine?
Silent Heaven 11 May @ 12:32am
Can you make the new puppet colonies in Africa match the colors of Britain? It's an eyesore to look at
Maximiliano 10 May @ 3:30pm
@WELSHY how to get Edward VIII?
WELSHY 6492  [author] 10 May @ 1:25pm
@手袋ハンガー - I am very glad that you like the Mod so much, it is always nice to hear that.
Regarding the state modifier, that is admittedly something which was not meant to be released yet so I have done a quick patch to tuck it away until the whole release is completed.
WELSHY 6492  [author] 10 May @ 1:04pm
@Yomamaobama99 - Thank you very much, I'm glad you like it.
WELSHY 6492  [author] 10 May @ 12:54pm
@james_clarke55 - Fair point. Tell you what, if you can think of a historically plausible way for Ireland to voluntarily want to join the Federation, then I will openly consider including it. However, as Ireland has still yet to even join the Commonwealth in 2025, it might need quite a bit of narrative work to achieve plausibly. Good luck.
手袋ハンガー 9 May @ 4:54am
This is one of the greatest Mods of Hoi4!
And I have a question: How to remove "lingering impact of the great depression" from states in British Isles?
Yomamaobama99 2 May @ 3:20pm
This mod is amazing
james_clarke55 2 May @ 5:14am
Could you include Ireland as a option for federation?
WELSHY 6492  [author] 2 May @ 1:29am
@everyone - Morning all, just a small update today to address the many changes that paradox have made to the Graveyard of Empires DLC. As a reminder that DLC is not needed to run the British Empire Mod. There are also a few additions from the ongoing GBR overhaul, including some additional ship classes for construction via decisions.
WELSHY 6492  [author] 30 Apr @ 2:36pm
@Miguelno2010 - There's 2 main reasons for this. Firstly, while the colonies were individual entities, they were closely interlinked in terms of trade and policy. They shared currencies, exchange rates and were represented in the British collectively. During WW2 both east and west Africa had a resident minister responsible for these regions as a whole.

The 2nd reason is that it makes them more interesting to play as (it's hard to make a Gambia play through exciting) and it simplifies the coding requirements.
WELSHY 6492  [author] 30 Apr @ 2:31pm
@GhostlySpider - Thanks for helping with the queries. Much appreciated.
WELSHY 6492  [author] 30 Apr @ 2:28pm
@kajarotmm12 - Most likely... No
WELSHY 6492  [author] 30 Apr @ 2:25pm
@circusfreak and @danel - to form the Federation, You need to let India go. The dominions and Britain would never politically accept joining a federation with India as every election would be dominated by their much larger population. Indian politicians weren't particularly interested either.
Plus - it helps maintain game balance too, which in the long run is probably more enjoyable.
miguelno2010 29 Apr @ 3:45am
Why is british east and west africa a thing and not the colonies eparated like irl
danel 25 Apr @ 10:08am
how do you actually form the Imperial Federation India always declines.
