Just an example, take this model. Almost identical filesize, yet it uses shitton more textures.
I'm not telling you how to do your shit (well I kinda am :P, but in a good faith). If you cram a couple of mods that use 4K textures, it quickly piles up and people will start seeing performance drops.
the bumpmap is that big because it has a detailed phongmask in its alpha.
