This has been a GREAT help with the ASTW2 Gears of War pack whose targeting cross-hair is inaccurate with some weapons (especially the One-Shot Weapon).

If it's don't work, and you have L4D2 CONTENT, you need to delete "xbox reticle" files in:

steamapps\common\GarrysMod\garrysmod\addons\l4d2-content\materials\vgui\hud

[FIXED] If like me u spend many hours figuring why it wouldn't work i figured it out.
I uninstalled my L4D2 CONTENT And TF2 CONTENT and it finally worked.
Have fun and dont forget to : hud_draw_fixed_reticle 1 + crosshair 0 in your console.

im not getting the crosshair im just getting a circle around my crosshair

It works, but it got boring after a while so I tried going back to the old one- even with crosshair 1 my standart crosshair vanished

@IntrovertedLitch the addon replaces a texture which gets shown on the screen, but it is mostly invisible (I think it's used in the airboat or something but I dunno). The command hud_draw_fixed_reticle 1 enables the constant rendering of that texture making it an alternative crosshair without needing a script. That's why you need to disable your default crosshair if you don't want two crosshairs at the same time

How does this work? How does it change the "built-in" crosshair without a script?
