I remember DOOM mod "russian overkill", which has A LOT of weapons mass destruction similar to your hdn weapons. The "planet cracker" 's altfire is orbital laser-strike, which kills pretty much anything (maybe even you). It [altfire] can be also amplified with "Trotsky" item.

This reminds me of 7 in the Torino Scale!
