Actually a very good first plane for people to get into aviation.
Sure, its not very great at combat, bit slow, but it flys better than most planes on the workshop, with the added advantage of situational awareness.
Controls arent even that weird as me and most of my buddies think WASD is better than using mouse yoke.

whenever you shoot with it bob dies. mg killes him. never i say never use this in a dogfight, i almost won and this thing made me lose, also actuators glitch like crazy

You can change the visibility of items from the right column on the item's page.

Navigate to C:\Users\{your profile name}\AppData\Local\BrickRigs\Saved\Thumbnails
and edit the thumbnail in there. You have to restart the game to see the changes. Make sure the image format is .png when you save (I assume the game won't detect other file types, I might be wrong though).
