No, I do assign the beds specifically. That's not necessarily the issue. I feel like the utility of the towel should be more of a joy-giver rather than a place to sleep like sitting on a park bench. Here, example...

you usually want to manually assign your colonists to proper bedrooms.
if you don't, they pick a bed themselves, but with preference for indoors, roofed, close to food, warm, etc,
so if you have people spending the night on a towel that is a good sign to expand your base.
or you can just disallow the towels.
there is no "lay in bed and do nothing" AI behaviour in vanilla ( which is unrealistic ;D ),
and this mod wants to avoid conflict with other mods by adding such functions.

Interesting that the towel is a bed...? I don't really want my pawns making the beach their bedrooms. I was hoping they would use them for recreation.

@Omias nope, these are furniture placed on the shore and shallow water, they don't change how pawns move.

Does this allow pawns to move through deep ocean water?

Since I learned some new tricks, I came back and edited the beach umbrellas. Now they look a bit more like umbrellas. Also they are transparent so you won't lose track of friends and enemies beneath them.

The hoopring is a joy object, the towel is a bed, the chair is a chair, and the umbrella is decorative.

Are these joy objects, or just furniture?
