Phantasmagoria is on my list! Will get around to it eventually.

Thanks for playing! In light of Phantasmagoria I see the flaws/missed opportunities in this one a lot more clearly, though, so I'd highly recommend checking that one out if you have a chance.

really nice map!
Nobody No-One  [author] 11 Mar @ 11:18am
Lol, yeah it does feel a bit insubstantial now that I know how much it could be expanded. Thanks for playing!

Last time I tried this I found it too hard... suffice it to say that wasn't much of a problem after Phantasmagoria
Nobody No-One  [author] 2 Mar @ 3:43pm
@Hovering Harry Thanks for playing! I think a lot of people had the same difficulty as you, especially since it's not immediately clear how the upper area is helpful in getting a cube to the blue funnel button . I hope you enjoy Phantasmagoria if you're planning to check it out soon!
Hovering Harry 26 Feb @ 9:32pm
This was pretty good, it took me 47 minutes to complete. I saw that you could get a portal in the isolated room to use for momentum storage pretty quickly, but I got a bit stubborn trying to get the cube in the blue funnel button room before getting to the upper area
Nobody No-One  [author] 26 Apr, 2021 @ 1:55am
Thanks! Yeah, I was really pleased with how cohesive the map felt, especially seeing as it almost came together by accident. Glad you enjoyed it!

Very nice puzzle! I quite liked how the theme of timed sequences was well-developed over the course of the chamber. In general, variations on the same type of 'Phantom' move were well-appreciated, and fit with monoportal. The funnel speed was a little intimidating at first, but it all worked out.

Thanks for playing! Unfortunately I don't think I have access to the map file to update it anymore, so the cube throwing exploit will have to stay. I don't think it's too big of a deal, so I'm fine with keeping it.
SpielSatzFail 30 Jan, 2021 @ 2:54pm
Great challenge! Thumbs up and a favourite :-)
I agree with the difficulty rating (7/10 = medium-hard).
A tough but wonderful mixture of timing, momentum and sacrifices .
I very much appreciate your philosophy about map making: logic based and not hard to execute. That's what it is. Everything is fair. (my assessment is valid because I HATE execution based maps and I have a fine sense for such things ;-P)
Every single step perfectly works together with the others! The chamber design is splendid too! Nothing that's confusing or frustrating. I enjoyed it so much even though it took me... uhm... some time ;-)
Last thing I have to say is that I found the same unintended final move as zeo did: preparing a cube and tossing it back onto the button from above. I've read the description before but I was unsure about this toss since it's easy to execute. You should really prevent it so you can force the final reverse cube sacrifice .

Thanks! Glad you enjoyed!

Excellent. A very good brainteaser, coupled with demanding time tasks.
Nobody No-One  [author] 1 Jun, 2020 @ 3:37pm
I think he actually did finish it, I just forgot to link it
Dark Rozen 1 Jun, 2020 @ 11:00am
Do you know the upload date for part 2 of hanky's play through? I've been waiting ages
zeo1337 9 Jan, 2020 @ 5:16am
That was not easy at all, but I solved it intended. Also for the final move, you don't have to bring the blue cube to the button inside. You can move the orange cube onto the ledge above the button, go though the funnel, and toss the orange cube back onto the button from the ledge to reverse the funnel. but that is obviously unintended.
Nobody No-One  [author] 26 Jun, 2019 @ 7:38pm
Yeah, a lot of people in their playthroughs have had the same thought process. Thanks a lot for playing and I'm really glad you enjoyed it!

I still need to solve your hard map One by One. I'll try to get back to it soon. :)
Oblivious Owl 26 Jun, 2019 @ 7:36pm
Whew, solved it!
I think what took me so long was I didn't realize there was any reason to stack the cubes.
I thought of it early on, but then I thought, "nah, that cant be right. :steamfacepalm:"
Anyway, congrats on making a deviously clever map!
Nobody No-One  [author] 26 Jun, 2019 @ 9:31am
Sounds good.
Oblivious Owl 26 Jun, 2019 @ 9:04am
I've gotten sooo close to solving it! I'll come back when my head's clear. :steamhappy:
Nobody No-One  [author] 2 Jun, 2019 @ 6:50pm
Thanks for the comment! I'm glad you enjoyed. I think I got really lucky with this map since everything kind of fell into place in a really nice way.
SteemStream 2 Jun, 2019 @ 6:43pm
These map ideas put my maps to shame. Absolutely amazing job.
可砸 25 Apr, 2019 @ 4:05pm
Yeppp, thank you for your reminder~
Nobody No-One  [author] 25 Apr, 2019 @ 2:01pm
@可砸的六度双音 All intended, nice work. At around 3 minutes into your video you could have just placed the orange cube into the funnel rather than pulling in the blue cube like you did, but it doesn't really matter. Thanks for playing!
可砸 25 Apr, 2019 @ 6:28am
Excellent puzzle!Great time delay and reset!

jandlml 25 Feb, 2019 @ 5:36pm
yes its definitely not the way to go . once i figured out what i was really supposed to do everything actually went nice and smooth.
Nobody No-One  [author] 25 Feb, 2019 @ 3:07am
Yep, sounds like both of you did it as intended! Thanks to both for playing!
@jandlml regarding your exploit, I'm sure it is still possible, but I hope it's unreliable enough that people can tell it's not intended. I'll put a note in the description.
Leo 25 Feb, 2019 @ 2:51am
Okay I think I got the intended solution this time, indeed more elegant and easier to execute. If I'm correct, for the 1st cube stacking, unlike what I did in my video you need to place the blue cube below the yellow one? The favourite is definitely deserved ;)
jandlml 24 Feb, 2019 @ 10:59pm
all right!! i think i finished it by your intended way, i used every surface. i thought there had to be a use for the floor in the X room excellent!! much better than what i did first.
jandlml 24 Feb, 2019 @ 10:46pm
ok i figured out how to get to the upper area, hmm
jandlml 24 Feb, 2019 @ 9:56pm
well i am absolutely stuck at this point. i have no idea what the piston is for all it does for me is get me stuck. i dont know how to get to the upper area or why i would even want to go up there except after i get the cube up to the button but i have no idea how to do that so im jammed
jandlml 24 Feb, 2019 @ 9:34pm
i still think you can do what i did. and no i didnt use those areas have no idea what they are for. im totally stuck
jandlml 24 Feb, 2019 @ 9:14pm
oh boy i hate getting the unintended solution. shoot
Nobody No-One  [author] 24 Feb, 2019 @ 8:40pm
@jandlml OK, that's definitely unintended. I would never intend something so unpredictable. I'll have to see if I can fix that. So avoid using any weird physics stuff like that.

Did you use the piston platform and the upper area with the orange cube dropper at all?

@quaternary Yeah, I assumed you did the same thing as leomievs. That shouldn't be possible now.
jandlml 24 Feb, 2019 @ 8:23pm
this is how i placed them before adding the funnel https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1666354399
jandlml 24 Feb, 2019 @ 8:21pm
yup it worked again
jandlml 24 Feb, 2019 @ 8:19pm
ok this is how i had them in the funnel. but i tried to get it to work the way i did it before an it didnt. so what i did once i got them in the funnel is step on the button aand quickly put a portal on the surface behind the green wall and one of the cubes fell through because im assuming the other hit the ledge and pushed it. https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1666351351
quat 24 Feb, 2019 @ 8:19pm
Woops I was scrolled, same as leomievs*
quat 24 Feb, 2019 @ 8:18pm
Yeah, I just did the same. I had just played a glitchy narkodes map, so I still had all sorts of weird portal placements in my head lol
jandlml 24 Feb, 2019 @ 8:11pm
umm sure
Nobody No-One  [author] 24 Feb, 2019 @ 7:39pm
I'm a bit confused. Could you post a screenshot? It doesn't sound right.
jandlml 24 Feb, 2019 @ 7:13pm
great map! i hope i did the one step correctly. i was actually surprised it worked so well to get only one cube into the room with the button to turn the funnel . i lined them up side by side so one would hit the ledge when dropped. then had the orange funnel pull them both . then i stepped on the off button ,quickly made a portal on the surface inside the green room and it actually fell through. i hope that was right.
Nobody No-One  [author] 24 Feb, 2019 @ 6:39pm
Cool, thanks for clarifying. Glad it's not hard to execute.
Joric 24 Feb, 2019 @ 6:36pm
I mean, there's a lot of things, not the easiest map to record at one take. Execution difficulty of each separate step is pretty much nil though.
Joric 24 Feb, 2019 @ 6:33pm
Overall difficulty, as in "medium-hard". Execution difficulty is almost nonexistent.
Nobody No-One  [author] 24 Feb, 2019 @ 5:44pm
@Joric Thanks for playing! That's all intended, although you made some parts a tiny bit harder than they needed to be (emphasis on "tiny", though — everything's almost exactly how I would do it). I agree that there is some execution difficulty but I have consistently been able to complete this map on my first try. I think it is still more of a logic puzzle than an execution challenge. I hope you still enjoyed the puzzle.
Just out of curiosity, what do you mean by "I'd rate it 7/10"? Are you talking about overall difficulty, execution difficulty, or how good the map is?
Joric 24 Feb, 2019 @ 5:32pm
My 4 minutes: https://youtu.be/TSXOCs3E3xE pretty hard to execute, I'd rate it 7/10.
