2nd: although you dont have access to comand center you could get lucky (like I was the first run, but lost, cause mc cullen died) and get a mayor who realy boosts you. in my case i got 40 iron right from the beginning. But there are others possible as well, like less gold for troops, more hp, better range, faster heal. That makes the difficulty a bit random.
If you kill the Shaman, when you train a ranger the soldier center might train one with a red health bar instead of green. This is causing the crashes. If this happens don't use the red health bar ranger, or exit the map back to the main menu, then Continue the map where you left off and this should change the red health bar ranger back to green.
Alternatively don't kill the Shaman. Use your ranger and sniper or a solider to push her to safety in the base. This seems to stop the red health bar ranger later spawning which is causing the crash.
@europa_from_marketing - not you don't get the Command Center. If you need help: Get to the wood workshop as soon as possible. To the right/east of that is iron and to the right/east of that is an army who will make defending easier. Hope this helps.
I never encountered problems with the map crashing. I did not kill the Shaman, I left her alone and let the attacking herds kill her. When the next trained ranger appeared with a red health bar, I put them in a corner of the city and never touched them again. I was able to train soldiers, rangers and snipers with no problem.
Problem with this map is the crashing. You are aware of the issue, i can see from other comments, but that was extremely frustrating. Eventually i got around the issue by simply never building rangers - the free units were more than enough to clear the map on their own, while the Lucifer was enough to tank all the waves with the Ballista towers. Will do Part 2 tomorrow.
2 things i stumbled across:
- In your chapter overview here in the workshop, phase 9 is listed as peaceful lowlands, although it turned out as desolate wastelands map :)
- i had a zombie approaching the Wood Workshop from the right side . It was no big deal because i had a ranger stationed there and soon afterwards cleaned the right side. Just wanted to let you know in case this wasn't intended or shouldn't happen :)
Can't wait to play the last 2 maps.
You can use my post on the bug reporting, am fine with that.
If you don't mind I will re-post what you have said in the bug reporting section for the game devs to fix? There is perhaps another way to fix the problem in the short-term...
You don't have to kill the Shaman - you can just walk past (the dialog will change). The Shaman will still probably be killed by the waves of infected causing the same problem, however you can 'push' the Shaman to safety by using Ava and the soldier to walk through her and push her into the colony. If the Shaman doesn't die I don't think the Ranger red health bar will happen?
2) Get the red color health bar Ranger into the Wooden Tower, unload it and the Ranger health bar will be turned into green and the game CRASHED!
Hopefully this help! And keep up the good work!
(PS: I posted as 2 separate comments because there's this 1k words restriction)
After you killed the Ranger (Shaman) to enter the city, and take control of the city, I trained a couples of Ranger to boost my expanding squad, and it always happened that 1 of the newly trained Ranger health bar will always shown as Red color (same as the Shaman health bar color).
So to avoid confusion (I always pressed 'ALT' button when pushing against the zombies), I tried to reverse the effect of the health bar color of one of my Ranger, and hence I discovered there's 2 possible ways to do it,
I need more to go on...there are questions in the discussion above to help me detect the reason for the crash as currently it appears random. @EdyLane said re-installing Steam fixed it for them...I don't know how much of a pain this would be for you @Saro but that might fix it for you? I know other maps work for you but this map was made in the same way.
Best wishes to you :)
Greetings from germany ;)
