I had the best time with this mod. The dungeon is very unique, every floor is different. I think it is very well made you have to pay attention to every detail, have to track were pits lead to, compare floor maps, pay attention to notes you find. I had a few moments were i was lost but could always explore some other part of the dungeon. there was never a dull moment and the end was brilliant. started with a veteran group on easy so i could enjoy the puzzles. enemies still needed a few hits

This map is to confusing. Having to fall down all the time and hearing walls opening and closing when you can't get to see where just makes no sense. If I had to mark on my map when and where I get teleported to just walking around would be and is a mess. I think I'll find another mod to play.

Very good dungeon ! Made me turn mad ^^ I'm stuck in level 4 since days, impossible to get above in level 3, after going downstairs level 10, because all 4 doors level 4 are blocked.

A tiny little clue plz, creator ? :)

A pretty confusing map. Start and early build up is a bit rough, but then going is ok. Somethimes it's hard to figure where to go next but nothing a jump down a pit or two can't solve ;) Puzzles are limited to "find the key", "clear the path" and such. Monster respawns are ok but those floods on parts of floor 2 and 1 are just dps/gear tests. Gear progression is a bit strange i.e. Orb of Radiance is located close to the end.
Upon reaching the exit i had 2 brass and 2 gold keys left. With all locks opened from top 'til bottom: is this on purpose? All i miss is the secret and a short corridor in the east of floor 7.

Level one (death!) the gribbleys keep coming and been replaced.... what do you do on here? (reminds me of the spiders on level 2) these doors open every now and again shut but you get trapped! lol. i'm sure i'm at the end, rest of the levels completed, enjoyed this mod. just struggling with death. the name of level's appropriate lol.

Thanks Atlamour. (Spoilers) Ok, so when describing what to do on floor 1, I didn't actually talk about how to properly access the floor, It sounds like from your description you reached the top of the pit which decends through all floors. There is no way to access the rest of floor 1 from there. To truly access floor one you need to pass through the central teleporter on floor 2. That will take you to a room with 3 locks which take keys from each of the floor 2 teleporter quadrants. That will take you to the main body of floor 1 and the gear lock.

Great Mod!, well done! but I'm also stuck on the small chamber with the pit at the start of floor 1. I've got the gear key but I can't find the secret button the note refers to or a lock to use the gear key in. any help would be greatly appreciated. Once again thanks for a really challenging mod , hope you make another.

@ FrosticCold: Thanks alot, I'm not really doing much more to this mod, but I might make another one.

@ Chris Crayven: SPOILERS(Ok, so depending on your version there should be one or two notes refering to secret button in the most north western room on level 1. Find that and your golden. This of course assumes you already have the gear key and can access the main body of level 1. If you don't have that, you can find it in level 9.

Nice Mod, but iam stuck on the first level "Death", i do not know what to do there at all.

On first glance at this maps picture it looks like it would be fun till they read the warning. I used to play grimrock like crazy but then took a 5 month break and hopped bac in and still found it fun. This map perfected the custom map expectation for me! Hope You Continue to update this

Thanks Hiver! I really appreciate the specificity! I've updated with the bug fix and fixed an empty spawner on lvl 10. I apologize to everyone for not doing more playtesting. I don't know how I missed it.

Love the map, very challenging, lots of surprises (SO MANY HIDDEN OGRES). That said there seems to be a bug with the book of eternal winter, that crashes game on use. It seems to be because it want to add "resist_cod" so a slight typo. Apart from that though its great!

@ Sorrow: No doubt refering to level 6 (Dementia). I'm glad you enjoy it. Looking back that level is probably the one I would rework the most. I worry it might be a little too maddening. Especially if someone was playing in oldskool mode.

@ Mav: Thanks! I'm glad it feels non-linear. If I do another it will be even less linear.

@Gondule: I never got around to UU :*(

Really nice mod, these teleporters make me mad, but i enjoy it !
Mav 5 Aug, 2013 @ 2:37am
This is really interesting mod! I like the approach when dungeon is treated as a whole rather then just linear level advancing. Every level has its own look and feel!

"pick the battles you can win" and "and they should save often (and keep a few older saves)" Definitely remind me of Ultima Underworld. This game already had a strong UU feel to it even though the gameplay is different. This just pushes it even further. Definitely subbing this.
lostlorax  [author] 30 Jul, 2013 @ 6:41pm
It was designed for a new party. If you can't beat a monster it just means you need to run away, and pick the battles you can win. Players dont have to be experts, but they should know how to kite, and they should save often (and keep a few older saves).

Not for beginners as in the player, or their party?
D-ManOz 29 Jul, 2013 @ 2:48pm
I'll get around to this one ;)

10 floors? I smell wizardy in the air.
