I do wonder if this mod still gets developed, as id love to ask about a way to farm/spam katanas so i can either find or craft myself the perfect one (modular weapons mod allows to mix and match bits)

Love this and the abilities ESPECIALLY. I'm playing this with Frackin' Races as a hylotl which automatically racially benefits from the katanas (10% power multiplier). I wanted to also benefit from their perfect-block perk while using the katana parry (small health regen when perfect blocking), so I went ahead and made a very quick patch.

I assume this is cool and all, let me know otherwise!

Cool side note for those who are looking for it, there's aimable AND manufactor's touch addons I found, HIGHLY recommend with this (just searching "katana" should be all you need to do). That said, I think linking them in the description for others to find easier would be cool. Thanks again for the awesome work dudes.

@TheAshby they should just spawn randomly, though I can't guarantee any sort of compatibility, ESPECIALLY with FU.

I am using FU and this mod, but I want to use the katana content of this mod, how do I do it, is it a random loot what should I find first or can I craft something?

Exactly what does the mod do? I mean, I know the obvious, but I can't find any videos, images, or even comments that talk about the compatibility or precise details of the mod.

For example, does it work with GIC? Where can I see what exactly it adds?

hello again, I've been testing this mod for a while, and it has occurred to me that the kunai skill could be improved, changing the design depending on the element (example if the fire is the original kunai, the poison would look like energy snakes, the ice as a pale blue 6-pointed shuriken and the lightning as the kunai that Naruto's father used, for physical attacks it would be a red hammer.
Now why am I saying this, well first of all I unexpectedly have free time, and I was thinking of creating an Addon for this mod, specifically to do the wakizahi and tanto, but I'm afraid I still lack experience for something like that, that's why I want first look for ways to improve this mod, to gain experience, my next step would be to create an addon to incorporate the elemental types of Frackin universe and Arcana, and finally, when that has been achieved, start creating an addon to add the new weapons.

I think a while ago I suggested that they add the wakizahi and tanto to this mod, which would be the counterpart of the short sword and the dagger in oriental weapons, and in addition if it were possible to add a mechanic similar to that of the fists, with the goal that the user can create combos using these swords

Correct me if I'm wrong but it would be to copy the algorithm of the fists, increase its reach to that of a short sword or a dagger and incorporate the combos related to an element.
obviously that the wakizahi and tanto are procedural like the katana would not be possible, except for its element (the fists are not procedural either) but it would give the mod more variety.

it's probably buried a few pages back but I'm just sticking it in the description: The mod's not designed for aimable melee in mind, much like how in vanilla only shortswords and spears are aimable. I'm not gonna make a patch for it because it goes against the design philosophy of the mod: trying to fit in with vanilla weapons. You wanna make a patch, be my guest, but quit asking for it.

I think it would be really cool if there was a separate mod for procedural Naginatas or Glaives.
Vanilla spears are pretty boring, and I think having a polearm using slashes and stabs would be super cool.
A Solus Naginata with that shoots a laser like Nox does in the Hylotl mission sounds super cool to me.

Well, I recently found a way to get the katanas, and apparently they appear in the chests of the challenger door, only ... it's ridiculously difficult ... I was going to correct my comment when I saw that you had responded.

about the tier adding blows to the combo ... because it all depends on the point of view, for some would like more a fixed combo while others prefer a weapon that can be upgraded, personally if I improve a weapon in the anvil of the Ancient Vault I would like my weapon to do more than slightly increase the damage, and the one that suddenly in additional combos would be very, very attractive, although again I say it is from my point of view

and about the elements of FU, if you notice I put it in the category of "dreams" because I know how absurdly difficult it is to try to make a mod that fits FU, when you think you have already achieved it, launch an update that pulls all effort down the toilet

Uh, the katanas should all be dropping with the rest of the procedural weapons, and the ones that don't are crafted with the various vanilla tables.
Adding hits to the combo depending on the tier would be a lot more trouble than it's worth and would alienate people who are used to their weapons having the same basic moveset irregardless of tier. As for the FU elements, I'm not doing that because working with FU is a pain in and of itself, and I really can't be dealing with that. Feel free to make it yourself if you want, I suppose.

take the legendary "Rainbow sword" from the old version of starbound as an exclusive weapon of this mod, said weapon would have the ability that each hit in combo changes its elemental attribute (example: first hit, fire, second hit, poison, third hit, ice, fourth hit, electric) resulting in a powerful one that causes several defuff to the attacker.

Create a plugin that allows you to include the 3 additional elements that exist in Frackin universe that can be used in the procedural katanas (I mean the elements: cosmic, shadow and radioactive. The other elements such as bioweapon, hellfire,
silverweapon and aether, they are exclusive to FU and honestly quite problematic since their attribute is not well defined).

2- add this weapon to the mod of the Forge: blade dance because ultimately the only way so far to obtain the katanas is by commands, and for some it would be something they would appreciate.
3- I suggest that the amount of combos of a katana should vary according to the tier, in such a way that a tier 1 katana could give 3 hits, one with tier 5 would give 7 hits and obviously one with tier 10 would give 12 hits (2 hits more than the most powerful katana in FU, but keep in mind that the katanas of that mod are tier 7)

I have tried this mod and it fascinates me as you have no idea, honestly if I compare it with the katanas that are in Frackin universe, this one tends to be much better and more balanced, and unlike the combos of Project Blade Dance, the attacks are fluid and without inconsistencies, the only defects that I see are some bugs in terms of some skills that have already been mentioned, so I would like to add some ideas that could be useful in the future:

1- they add the "shōtō" which in summary would be a katana but can be used with one hand and is slightly smaller.
To make this weapon more attractive, I suggest that the combos work in a similar way to the mechanics of fist-type weapons, that is, by pressing only one button the attack that this sword alternates with another of the same type, in this way it gives the possibility for the player to create their own combos.

I only found one crash log (though there was another I saw without a log). The logged one is 100% due to an incompatibility somewhere, and the log-less crash is in the trash, because talking about a crash and not sending the log file is the same as saying "it no work" and then walking away.
