Is this still usable? I only recently started playing this game and late game upgrades are like 4x slower than I can stomach.
brutus_61 12 Jun, 2019 @ 12:19pm
it was a good mod sorry about the bad news but you keep it up with any mods you make in the future.
starchitec  [author] 7 Jun, 2019 @ 6:03am
I wont. As this is now in Vanilla. As is mentioned in the description. And as should be generally obvious
Knyghthawk 7 Jun, 2019 @ 3:44am
please update or advise if you will still be updating this mod

Tnx for mod *)

This is something Paradox will have to do - eventually each ship will upgrade individually rather than this "all or nothing" issue we've got going on.
Lex 4 Feb, 2019 @ 3:21am
please, do it faster x2.. 2000 days for upgrade with all shipyards is too much.
starchitec  [author] 1 Feb, 2019 @ 1:04am
For now, this simply halves the time it takes to do all upgrades
Neo 31 Jan, 2019 @ 11:59pm
Does this work currently to increase speed?
starchitec  [author] 24 Jan, 2019 @ 8:41am
@Astral That is fantastic. I am glad they are taking a crack at this, I hope this means that the modifiers for it are a bit more in the open too.

Ship Upgrade
I think the experience of upgrading ships could be better, as it feels a bit awkward that cancelling your upgrade at 99% doesn’t actually leave any ships upgraded. I want to address that by making each ship upgrade individually, one at a time, and that this process should make use of multiple shipyards in the same starbase. This should mean that if you cancel a fleet upgrade at 50%, roughly half of the ships will still be upgraded. We’ll also take a look at tweaking the upgrade costs and time.
Von Faustien 21 Jan, 2019 @ 5:57pm
why is this mod even a thing one would think this would be a basic functionality of the game. im not bashing you starchitec but this really seems like the kind of thing the developers should have had in since paralle shipyards were added. its just down right paradoxical that this should even have needed to be made by any modder
starchitec  [author] 20 Jan, 2019 @ 7:23pm
seems ship upgrade speed is only in defines, which means no modifier. Still trying to see if I can find a workaround
Edcrab 20 Jan, 2019 @ 5:34pm
Great mod idea! And yeah it's not working for me either at present, but are you sure "starbase_upgrade_speed_mult" is the right modifier? You brought it up in the comments earlier but I've got a nagging suspicion that both the "time" and "speed" commands relate to the starbases themselves upgrading, not the ships using their shipyards (for example, that's the modifier the Fortress Proclamation perk uses)

I was just wondering because I tried to implement something like this myself and couldn't manage to find a ship upgrade speed modifier, wasn't even sure if the game allows for it
starchitec  [author] 20 Jan, 2019 @ 12:15pm
Yes. No bonus for precursor shipyard but otherwise yes. But right now it seems to have a problem with the latest patch, I am not entirely sure if it is working. Trying to fix.
Mamtk 20 Jan, 2019 @ 12:11pm
@starchitec,

Is the mod compatible com GPM?
Fallaner, the Writer Eternal 20 Jan, 2019 @ 12:07pm
OH MY GOD This will make upgrading my fleets so much nicer. Much appreciated!
starchitec  [author] 20 Jan, 2019 @ 10:22am
Okay... I am now confused. It also doesnt appear to applying the effect for me anymore. I swear it worked on Friday. Is anyone else not seeing the seeing the upgrade speed boost?
Alrossan 20 Jan, 2019 @ 8:29am
@starchitec Thanks for getting back to me. I went through all of my other mods that I have enabled and none of them alter the starbase files. Most of the mods I have are UI, graphic, and the G.A.I. mod (Which does not alter the Common/Starbase_modular folder/files.)
Figaround 20 Jan, 2019 @ 6:58am
@Cranky The Snowman
No, I have NSC2 and the game does not break. However, this mod does not work. Maybe because I have several fleets improving at the same time, in Mega Shipyard.
Cranky The Snowman 20 Jan, 2019 @ 6:23am
Seems this is causing a game crash when used with NSC.
Mamtk 20 Jan, 2019 @ 6:21am
I think GPM modifies shipyards for the precursor events thing, so that makes this mod incompatible with it, right?
евро универсалии 20 Jan, 2019 @ 5:54am
hey I wouldn't call it cheating. It is just using your resources.
Dunestyler 20 Jan, 2019 @ 2:18am
can you make a mod, where you increase the building/district build speed or add some more techs for that?
Zestir 20 Jan, 2019 @ 1:01am
Well, at the very least it will give me a reason to actually build some shipyards then.
starchitec  [author] 20 Jan, 2019 @ 12:27am
@Zestir Union regulations prevent drydock workers from performing retrofitting jobs.

@Darrien that would be starbase_upgrade_time_mult. Unless I mixed up the two. But it seemed to work when I tested.

@Alrossan It should work on an existing save. Any chance you have something else that is overwriting shipyards? There is no empire modifer visible, or in the tooltip. That I probably could fix.
Zestir 19 Jan, 2019 @ 10:30pm
I'm guessing this wont work with the NSC drydock module?
Darrien 19 Jan, 2019 @ 4:50pm
Doesn't the upgrade modifier only apply to the starbase itself upgrading not fleet upgrades?
Alrossan 19 Jan, 2019 @ 1:42pm
I'm not sure if this works on existing saves, or if it is even working at all for me. I have 7 shipyards but my fleet still takes the same amount of time to upgrade as the previously did without the mod. Is it supposed to add a text modifier to the Empire screen? Or is it a behind the scenes kind of buff? If the former it does not seem to work at all. Thanks.
The Nega Druid 19 Jan, 2019 @ 1:15pm
Always thought spending like 5 years upgrading an old fleet was annoying when you could just disband the fleet and remake it with the upgraded models faster then the upgrade speed(though obviously much more expensive).
Robert 19 Jan, 2019 @ 11:21am
Holy shit this is amazing. Thank you very much.
starchitec  [author] 19 Jan, 2019 @ 8:39am
You could ask the Mega Shipyard author to add starbase_upgrade_speed_mult = 30, but I am not going to overwrite his work, and I bet he, like me, would think that sounds crazy OP.
Figaround 19 Jan, 2019 @ 8:34am
I deleted shipyards everywhere. Left only in Mega Shipyard. Because there is not only 30 shipyards, but also an increase in the speed of construction, and reducing the cost of creating ships.
starchitec  [author] 19 Jan, 2019 @ 8:32am
Yeah that one it wont do. Also... you just dont need 30x upgrade speed. on top of the 24x you can get with the crazy big starbases. Gotta draw the limit somewhere.

Lets say the megashipyard is specialized for new construction and doesnt sully itself with upgrades.
Figaround 19 Jan, 2019 @ 8:29am
Also I use New MegaStructure: Mega Shipyard (2.2) , smart piece.
starchitec  [author] 19 Jan, 2019 @ 8:28am
Actually, it already is. It should work up to any number of slots, I was just only aware NSC making it up to 12. I should just remobe the number from the description. Eventually upgrade times will start to get stupidly fast... but if you are okay with that then its no problem.
Figaround 19 Jan, 2019 @ 8:22am
Compatibly to mod ! - Starbase - Extended 2.2-! ? I use it together with NSC2, I receive 24 slots.
Musashi 19 Jan, 2019 @ 5:42am
finally :)
Test4Echo 19 Jan, 2019 @ 5:38am
You sir, are a lifesaver. The change to upgrades was such a stupid change from 1.9 to 2.0. Now, it's possible to achieve that speed again. Awesome job!
eldiabs 18 Jan, 2019 @ 6:20pm
Really good idea. Upgrade times can be insane. Thank you for this!
