As far as I know it requires BNW, since it references the Bazooka. I can try to make a version for vanilla, but I'm not sure where I would go with the antitank guns.

"Horseman type" aren't archers, and the role of cavalry in the modern military is performed by helicopters.

Scouts should have an upgrade path along the lines such as archers. Why would you make cavalry be helicopter gunship by the way and horseman type units into archers?

I am slightly less artistically competent than the average worm, so I was just going to reuse the helicopter gunship's current art for both types of helicopter. It's a bit undesirable, I realize, but it's the best I can hope to do.

It's fine with me. I would love to have 2 kinds of helicopters also. I am working on a mod so the dumb things don't embark as well, since that is just asinine. I would need seperate art to make the other mod though. Unfortunatly, I know nothing of how to so that.

I do believe I see your points. My only remaining issue is with helicopter gunships being the new general-use cavalry, though I believe it is due to the game's representation of them as an anti-armor unit that I find it odd. I might just look into making a mod sometime which seperates the specialized anti-tank role of helicopters and their more general usage into two separate units. Either way, I'll stop making such bizarre comments now. Thank you very much for your time.

I think I need to check, but I believe I agreed with you and changed the lancers to upgrade to cavalry, since I would imagine most mounted units would switch to firearms, since lancers would just get mown down. as a side note, look up the charge of the light brigade. lol I don't know why firaxis made the bazookas ranged when no other units are that fire just as far if not farther (machine guns and rifleman fire 500 yards, just not very accurately. The longest wait is the pikeman to anti tank, but it didn't make sence to have them become mounted and gain a few movements, then take them away to become anti tank guns, than have them gain them back when they became helicopters. as to the armor thing, helicopters are the new cavalry, even though tanks are considered to be too. The only reason I made tanks start a new branch was because while some cavalry battalions were upgraded to tanks, most units that were cavalry were upgraded to helicopters, including the 1st cavalry division.

A few thoughts:

Scouts to horsemen: I like that idea a lot.
Nothing (?) upgrading into the landship > tank > modern armor > GDR line: doesn't quite make sense to me, since tanks (and to some lesser extent mechanized infantry) are, at least in my understanding, the modern-day embodiment of cavalry.
Lancers to helicopter gunships: Lancers are already outdated and on the verge of uselessness for a long time before upgrading to anti-tank guns. Making them wait and upgrade into helicopter gunships keeps them sidelined for just too long, at least from a gameplay perspective.
Anti-tank guns to bazookas, and an anti-tank promotion for bazookas: I like this rather much. I do find it a bit odd that the bazooka is ranged, given that the anti-tank gun is not, but it's not too strange to deal with.

All that long-windedness aside, these are only my opinions; feel free to disagree, disapprove, disregard, etc. I'm fully aware that I'm odd in my opinions sometimes, but I thought I'd share anyhow.
