Farming Overhaul
57 Comments
Hi im Satan 5 Jun @ 2:23pm
There is indeed a bug in the code that causes workers to "get stuck" and not collect the stacked crops in the vault, but this does not work only with the "Medieval Crops" mod. I hope that someday there will be someone who will check and fix the code so that it works with this mod :)
Enigmatic 6 Apr @ 10:59pm
FA who is killing all the animals to leave meat and leather ? if it is you perhaps when you shoot one down go pick up the meat on the way to shoot the next and so on, or villagers will run to pick up the harvested goods you left laying on the ground. I use the ( Busy Teenagers ) mod children will pick up and harvest goods.
Drogar  [author] 17 Jul, 2022 @ 12:21am
Hello ldzlcs065,

I don't have any idea why this is happening, but you can try loading the "Medieval crops" before or after the "Farming Overhaul" mods. Maybe this will fix this.
ldzlcs065 16 Jul, 2022 @ 4:53pm
Hello, thanks for your quick repky, I tried it, really useful. However I do encounter a problem. I'm using this mod together with Medirval Crops, and the farmer gets stuck while trying to carrying harvested strawberries to storage. Do you have any idea what might cause this?
Drogar  [author] 15 Jul, 2022 @ 2:34am
Hello ldzlcs065,

It does. It will harvest first, then store the harvested goods
ldzlcs065 14 Jul, 2022 @ 9:33pm
Hello, does this mod also affect the harvest efficiency for single-farmer field?
FA 26 Jan, 2022 @ 1:18am
okay
Drogar  [author] 24 Jan, 2022 @ 3:23am
Hello FA,
This mod only handles farming.

I no longer have time to improve/maintain this mod, so I wil not handle hunters.
FA 23 Jan, 2022 @ 7:12am
doesn't matter it is vanilla but it would be nice if you could fix it :steamfacepalm:
FA 23 Jan, 2022 @ 6:30am
does this also make changes on hunters ?
and if so then can you make it optional
i really love this mod but i have a problem there is meat & leather all over and no on wana mine (stone.ore.grass.and so on...)
Skylar 3 Aug, 2021 @ 4:40pm
Maybe im doing something wrong however while it is great for harvesting quickly by storing it in baskets, no one is taking it to the barn/market? The farmers only take it at the beginning of the next season and will not touch them even after the freeze? Am I doing something wrong?
Uvi 18 Jun, 2021 @ 6:56am
большое спасибо за мод, наверное один из основных модов в моем списке, вот бы он еще Фермеров давал увеличивать, цены бы ему не было
Lord Raccoon 16 Nov, 2020 @ 1:14pm
how to have more than 1 people on the field at all?
Apex 31 Jul, 2020 @ 2:50pm
Nevermind. It does work. Only when having more than 2 people on the field
Apex 29 Jul, 2020 @ 2:52pm
I dont know if it is just for me, but the mod is even in the first load order and it does not what it is supposed to do. It actually does nothing at all.
Teamson 11 May, 2020 @ 6:31pm
Game changer, exactly how things should be! Maybe consider updating your description.
linuxmistress 12 Apr, 2020 @ 7:56am
@jumbled, thats core game mechanics and that is present in many city-builders
jumbled 4 Mar, 2020 @ 10:58pm
What he means to say is... Rather than a farmer harvesting a single plant, then walking it up to the barn, then going back to harvest another single plant and again walking it up to the barn...etc., etc. ad nauseam...if you have multiple farmers on the field, half of them harvest while the other half walk bundles of stuff to the barn, usually only after some amount has accumulated from the harvesting, to make it more productive with full loads. It's MUCH more efficient, far more realistic, and gets the job done before the winter freeze kills everything, (and you shortly thereafter for lack of food from a failed crop).

Personally, I think this is a wonderful idea, as REAL farmers hire every available hand, especially at harvest time, as TIME is against you to get the work done! Whoever programmed the vanilla version must've been brain dead. Then again, the vanilla number of farmers per field is also a brain dead idea. Oh well, so much for college education... :steamfacepalm:

Where does it say what this mod does other than the brief elusive description of sharing the harvest work? ty

Hello! I really like your creation, I would like to see this miracle in Russian localization, I can help revive this mod for the Russian-speaking population.
Vimes 24 Jun, 2019 @ 11:43pm
That is excellent and most kind of you.
I haven't been able to comment until now as the mod was hidden.
Thanks for what you have done.
Drogar  [author] 14 Jun, 2019 @ 10:54pm
@Vimes I published something to guard against this specific issue.
Just le me know if there is still an issue with the mod
Vimes 13 Jun, 2019 @ 3:58am
Many thanks. It is really just for your information.

This mod is most useful and appreciated.

Thanks again for sharing it
Drogar  [author] 13 Jun, 2019 @ 3:19am
Hello @vime. Thanks for reporting the bug. I'll see if I can do something about it and let you know if I could find something or not.
Vimes 9 Jun, 2019 @ 9:27am

Drogar  [author] 4 Feb, 2019 @ 12:24pm
jimm0thy, lastmystique - Thank you for the report, I'll see if I can find a fix for this issue.
jimm0thy 4 Feb, 2019 @ 7:42am
I can confirm that this mod is crashing with any villager carrying capacity mod/setting enabled (fv.core.humansConfig.Peasant.carryingCapacity)

The log file is stating "To Many AI Tasks" on lines 149, 177, 555
Lirai 3 Feb, 2019 @ 9:48am
I just tested it again with just your mod and one of the carry weight mods (tried both of them seperetely) and a fresh game and the game crashes a couple minutes after the farmers planted the field. Is there any log I could send you in case you can't reproduce it?
Lirai 3 Feb, 2019 @ 7:51am
Drogar  [author] 3 Feb, 2019 @ 2:42am
lastmystique - Can you tell me which "carryweight" mod you're using so I can see why it's crashing when the mod is enabled?
Lirai 2 Feb, 2019 @ 9:33am
The game crashes when I use this mod with any carryweight adjustement mod. I thought it's just other farming mods it's not compatible with.
Drogar  [author] 30 Jan, 2019 @ 9:38am
Snowblind - No it is not intentional, they should last the number of harvest defined in the game. For example, it should be 6 harvest for apples. Do you have another mod that change the orchard mechanics?

jugularvein - I have not tested the two mods together, but I think this should work since "More productive orchard" just change the configuration and not the logic of the orchard.
jugularvein 29 Jan, 2019 @ 8:12pm
Does the mod 'More productive orchards' count as a farming mod it won't work with? I think it just increases the life of the trees, not mess with pathing, so maybe not a clash?
Snowblind 29 Jan, 2019 @ 1:03pm
Just a question: my orchard trees are chopped down during every harvest, is that itentional?
nightshark 26 Jan, 2019 @ 6:13am
@jojobe i'm not sure they needed to do that much, Deer and elk are far more plentiful then Bear. You are correct it is edible, just states like crap. They propbably made jerky out of it. We should stop mucking up Drogar thread though as this has nothing to do with his mod.
Drogar  [author] 26 Jan, 2019 @ 2:28am
Hid633 - I'm glad you like the mod. With the mod enabled, you can approximatively divide by 2 the number of workers needed to harvest a field.
Flora 26 Jan, 2019 @ 1:33am
I tried this for the past few days, it works perfectly. I like that if you have a fairly large field and you don't have the max number of workers available for it you can still get all your produce harvested before freezing. It will end up collected on the field and you have the whole winter to pick it up and bring it to the barn so it isn't lost
jojobe 24 Jan, 2019 @ 5:06am
@nightshark if you were hungry you would eat it. The native americans did.
nightshark 20 Jan, 2019 @ 7:40pm
Sugn, you're correct but if you want realism then nobody wants to eat an adult bear. Very bad tasting acidic flavor. Only young bears are edible.
Drogar  [author] 17 Jan, 2019 @ 9:00am
Sygn Shatterstone - If I'm not wrong, there is already a mod that re-balance the meat/hide output of predators in-game
Mr. Biscuits 16 Jan, 2019 @ 10:59am
Just as a thing I noticed that I would like a modder to address. Bears do not provide meat, only hides. This is ridiculous, there is quite a bit of meat on a bear.
Mr. Biscuits 16 Jan, 2019 @ 10:56am
Thanks!
