how many pcu?
Dr. Skeeter  [author] 6 Nov, 2021 @ 12:43pm
I still dont agree with DLCs in a sandbox game, why this cant be like minecraft, for example. So, imagine the scenario, you spawn the build, but you forgot the "kitchen stool dlc", so now you cant paste the ship. or you get annoying messages.
Dr. Skeeter  [author] 26 Feb, 2021 @ 10:57am
keep exploring ;) idk if this still works or not
ARGHouse 26 Feb, 2021 @ 6:21am
Very nice, I like the Expanse look it has. Could do with some more RCS thrusters towards the bow of the ship. Also still trying to find where the cockpit is.
High Velocity Pineapple 8 Oct, 2020 @ 1:08pm
Hrmm, okay. Strange, I have no clue why it doesnt work, Ill have to trouble shoot
Dr. Skeeter  [author] 8 Oct, 2020 @ 11:36am
just the large block itself. i remember trying but dont know how it turned out. definitely look up "supergrids" on google, and on steam topics too.
High Velocity Pineapple 7 Oct, 2020 @ 12:55pm
Ah, did you make the supergrids yourself? If so, is there Anything In game that needs to be done other than saving the Single block? Do you need to attach an armor block or something? Im very confused.
Dr. Skeeter  [author] 7 Oct, 2020 @ 12:53pm
yeah, those would be cool. idk whats the secret to it
tbh
High Velocity Pineapple 7 Oct, 2020 @ 12:42pm
Ah okay, any special things you must do to the blocks before saving them? I dont know what Im doing wrong, but I am definitley going to continue trying to get the DLC blocks because they would be super sick.
Dr. Skeeter  [author] 7 Oct, 2020 @ 12:39pm
Updated this, and juno, have at it
High Velocity Pineapple 6 Oct, 2020 @ 11:27am
Ah, thank you. I have tried changing the grid size in the files, but unfortunately I've had no success. Does anything need to be done in game with the blueprint? I tried it with just a single large armor block and then reloaded my files, it says the size is now small but when pasted it remains as a large grid block. Thank you for your help!
Dr. Skeeter  [author] 6 Oct, 2020 @ 12:15am
https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1097357439 you can find blocks here. how I and he made those, weeelll.. you make a blueprint of one large block, and in the respected blueprint folder you replace gridsizeenum (or what) from large to small. or something like this.
High Velocity Pineapple 5 Oct, 2020 @ 4:28pm
Any good guides you know of on how to create your own supergrid block? I would love to make some DLC blocks into supergrids but havent found any useful guides.
ronon_dex 3 Oct, 2020 @ 8:16am
thanks. this is a really cool ship
High Velocity Pineapple 3 Oct, 2020 @ 7:51am
Thank you! I am super excited to see what I can do with this!
Dr. Skeeter  [author] 3 Oct, 2020 @ 7:49am
They are supergrids. large blocks modified to be small blocks, but their texture is the same. It`s a vanilla ""hack"". M4Hawse has builds with supergrids, check him out too!
High Velocity Pineapple 3 Oct, 2020 @ 7:36am
Okay, How do you connect them without rotors? I know how to make a large and small grid ship but I have only ever used rotors and they cause a lot of Clang. Like the seats in the APOLLO, they are connected with a small armor block inside the seat, and the seat doesnt interact with the small grid, How!? it looks amazing!
Dr. Skeeter  [author] 3 Oct, 2020 @ 7:14am
please enable supergridding. that way blocks wont miss.
And, large blocks on small grid are called supergids, they were a thing once. Back when we didnt have so many large blocks for small ships.
High Velocity Pineapple 3 Oct, 2020 @ 6:18am
How do you and other creators make large grid blocks inside other grids? The large grid stuff has collisions with the player but not the actual ship. I would love to use this technique
ronon_dex 2 Oct, 2020 @ 2:14pm
do you know why I am getting missing blocks? such as the gravity gens and control room?
Dr. Skeeter  [author] 2 Oct, 2020 @ 8:18am
there are no mods on this
ronon_dex 28 Sep, 2020 @ 3:09pm
is there a modless version?
Dr. Skeeter  [author] 26 Oct, 2019 @ 9:38am
Well, maybe I will try to implement this somehow
DerpVonOben 25 Oct, 2019 @ 1:49pm
You mean a canopy that opens with a rotor?
I've seen a mod or two that do just that some years back when planets were still a new addition to the game (or haven't even been added yet, not sure). Basically, in those the cockpit is made up of 3 parts:

The lower half, onto which everything is mounted, including the pilot
A hinge block installed at the front of the cockpit
A canopy, which is connected to the hinge.

Though I think that using a rotor for purely aestetic reasons on a ship that's meant to do high-G manuvers might piss off Lord Clang.
Dr. Skeeter  [author] 24 Oct, 2019 @ 11:10am
it was already done many times i think.
Illegal Poptart 21 Oct, 2019 @ 6:16pm
i like these large small grids, so i had an idea. I was thinking of a fighter with a rotor-based canopy type cockpit.
Dr. Skeeter  [author] 29 Sep, 2019 @ 11:34am
could you stop posting this everywhere?

Cost of build:
2018 Nov.15 - 2019 Jan. 3. That is one and a half month. 101 Hours spent making this Ship.
Counting with skilled labour, that would be 30 euros/h. 3030 euros of me working. (3455$)
Steel sheets are around 30$/Kg. 2.321.910 Kg, 69,5 million $ by weight.
Crane renting (Liebherr LTM-1500): ~6000$+ per month. 10000$
+additional fuel to take off.
Human Labour not calculated!
Total Estimated cost without launch: ~70 000 000$

Dr. Skeeter  [author] 28 Sep, 2019 @ 9:25am
You cant. It can lift off in 1G, or if the game changed since then just spawn it in space.
EMPIREVSREBLES 28 Sep, 2019 @ 8:34am
yeah how do I connect this to any type of station or launchpad so it doesn't just crash to the ground with no form of lift off
Sinither 24 Mar, 2019 @ 2:30am
looks like a Huntress Class Ambush Corvette from the The Sojourn
Dendroaspis 12 Mar, 2019 @ 2:09pm
By the way, I heard that that Rocinante drawing is in fact fan art, and was never an official design.
Dr. Skeeter  [author] 7 Mar, 2019 @ 7:59am
It does not work anymore, you`ll have to teleport in
vulture droid gf 6 Mar, 2019 @ 11:59pm
I could only seem to use your door to get in but I really don't know how it worked. I stand in the dent and then get in the chair?
Stonewall5101 16 Feb, 2019 @ 9:13am
this ship reminds me of the Rocinante
Asuka Kutsuki 17 Jan, 2019 @ 3:18am
You can increase your world's PCU limit in your world's settings
Coopertt 16 Jan, 2019 @ 4:09pm
how do a raise the ship size limit of my world?
pyark 16 Jan, 2019 @ 3:25am
Its okay I found out, sorry, very nice ship, probally the most "realistic" ship I've seen in terms of interior :)
Dr. Skeeter  [author] 15 Jan, 2019 @ 12:05pm
Instructions are labeled. just spawn yourself inside if that doesnt work
pyark 15 Jan, 2019 @ 11:41am
How do you enter this, I cant seem to use the weird doors
DerpVonOben 10 Jan, 2019 @ 2:00pm
Klockeye you mean the guinevre from the Soujourn?
Well, that one's got a "traditional" scifi spaceship interior, rather than a vertical one like this particular, or the ships you see in "The Expanse".
Dr. Skeeter  [author] 10 Jan, 2019 @ 1:05pm
Plasma monster? Just seen that ship, i think a luxury elite version of this is coming!
Klockeye 10 Jan, 2019 @ 12:57pm
Reminds me of the concept the guy from the Youtubechannel "Spacedock" had for his spaceship, althought that was a fighter this you made is huge and yet very detailed!

Also reminds me somewhat of Buzz Lightyears ship from the cartoon series.
Dr. Skeeter  [author] 10 Jan, 2019 @ 1:58am
You got elevators, imagine climbing ladders only!
And no, this is not like spacedocks guinevere at all, similarities end at both being spaceships.
Miath 10 Jan, 2019 @ 1:17am
This is an absolute pain in the ass to move around in, but it is goddamned gorgeous. Thanks for the hard work and unintended suffering.
Daniel.C 9 Jan, 2019 @ 4:55pm
This is prety much exactly like Spacedocks Guinevere.
It's only game. 9 Jan, 2019 @ 4:04am
yeah, this ship+bad lighting would be horror movie worthy with that many floor and tight spaces..
Caramel Star 8 Jan, 2019 @ 6:37pm
Okay, I did not know that. Thanks for responding!
Th3oriesMan 8 Jan, 2019 @ 3:03pm
Also; for those who would like small ship doors, try ironhospital's small airlock door; it's not vanilla obviously but it'll give you an AL Door for small grid that works perfectly :)
