IBM semilite will be generate only towns
2. Exactly this you can do with the Lite Version ;)
2. IBM semilite - I mean let cities grow and generate automatically and manually create industry.
In the Lite-Version there are Town and Industry Generation and you can additional Place Industries and Town Buildings by your self.
For this Problem i made the "Lite" Version.

I have made a "Lite" Version of the Mod which dont prevent Industry and Town Building Generation on a new Map and on new Era.

I think I had got some bugs after the latest update, when I used the mod and start the new game, the map is empty and no town was generated (neither factory nor town).
Please help :)

btw @Steaaler: Adding towns is possible - Just add cost="{a numeric value}" in the same row as BuildingType id="00000000" to the "building_types.xml"-file
I also tried several times to make it possible to Place also Town Buildigs but this dont work currently.
It`s hard to get normal map with random generator. To much towns and indystrial buildings in lowest density. Maybe you can tell where is game file with building generation settings on maps?
I have already Update it for the 5th Era Update but i need to wait till the Update is out of the Experimental Branch then i Upload the Mod Update (1.3) to the Workshop.
As I like Mashinky and your mode add new flavor to Mashinky, I will continue to track updates of this mode.

I decide to don't play IBM recently,
but keep focus on it ,
after more update then return.
It's an important part to me,
that make industry more realistic,both action and outlook.
one of the problem may discus before update:
some of the parts of industry building bouncing around randomly
it's hard to place like I want till I randomly got it after minute of mouse shaking

Circumstance of when it went wrong. Cannot get a savegame as the autosave was overwrote.
Built station after setting up passenger network else where.
Placed forest next to station. Not enough funds. Cost was over 6000 coins. Cant remember exact figure.
Took out loans to afford.
Placed forest at normal amount of 1000 coin.
Price came down once I had enough funds?
Left the forest for a while to set up rest of industry chain. Came back after and placed upgrade.
At that point it went wrong as it displayed the original output of 1.
I will do further testing on my end to try and replicate.
Build Forest and then Buy the First Upgrade and the Output increases from 1 to 2 and with another second from 2 to 2.5
Just to let you know all is good with the mod except when you build an extension to an industry the bonus is no longer getting applied to the industry.
Loving the mod as it allows me to build much more likable layouts and plan my routes so they look so much better.
I think i have found a Way to prevent Industry Generation on a new Era. Version 1.2.2 with this Fix is now out ;)
Your mode is a must be during all my games. However i also hope you 'll find a way how to prevent all the industry to be generated automatically when starting a new era.
Maybe there is a "secret switch" somewhere in the game's source code?
Alternatively in the save games there should be coordinates for every in game generated industry. If you 'd find out how to read the saved game files it should be possible to delete such coordinates industry by industry?
I have tried several things to avoid Industry Generation on a new Era but i cant get it to work. Also a Industry Demolition to Demolish Generated Industrys is currently not possible. I will try every time a new Updat eis out to get it to work ;)
@anthony yes you can still do missions, e.g. forest for 1k wood mission is still generated when the event fires.
