To be honest, I kep this around 'cause that direwolf follower is a TANK. I love him.

I'll be honest, this is a heavily flawed mod that definitely should not be installed before finishing the introduction in helgen
buuuut it does add much needed higher level enemies to the wilds of skyrim, making them genuinely dangerous at low levels, and actually challenging later on, and despite the couple of bugs is a cool addition to the game

-totally unbiased review definitely not by the mod author

I tried this and the wolves are still at Helgen trying to kill everyone

I'm currently doing my GCSEs at the moment, but I'll have more time in the summer and may remake the entire mod, which could involve adding a greater direwolf follower, as well as more direwolf types.

Any chance of a Greater Direwolf follower. Something bothers me about not being the strongest!

You know what a DIRE WOLF is Right? It's like a wolf but DIRE.

The follower direwolf is attacking me, I never hit it and at one point I pressed E and it said my direwolf was following me.

That could be due to a corruption of your game files, or an incompatibility/ something wrong with a mod. I would reccomend downloading BOSS and uninstall any mods you've installed recently

i dont have anyother mods for direwolves...it crashes before it gets to menu

Try clicking load game instead of continue, or you could try reinstallign. Other than that I can't give any suggstions-there shouldn't be any incompatabilities (unless you have another mod which adds direwolves) adn I'm not sure what could be causing the crashes

acually a Saber Cat is hard, or very hard to kill when you just starting out. Pretty much dead in 2 or 3 hits of his paws and claws. Your weapons don't do near enough damage starting off to kill the cat before it kills you.. Like the other player suggested, and said, will wait till char is higher level before subscribing. BTW, just so you know, You can subscribe now if you want, just go in the DATA folder to uncheck it till you are ready for it, then you can recheck it to reactivate it.

That's part of the challenge, but if you don't enjoy it, don't use this mod (BTW, american football tomorrow?)

The problem is, direwolves are not as easily avoided as giants or mammonths. The two packs outisde of Windhelm and Markarth are basically spawncamping

They're not meant to be defeatable at low levels; they give you a reason tto level up, and they give you something to be careful of and avoid. If everyhting was defeatable from the beginning of the game, what would be the point in getting stronger.
First you can kill wolves, then bears, then sabre cats and trolls, and then giants and mammoths. Direwolves are then next stage.

That's the problem, I've got a level 2 and a level 21 and they're too hard for both of them, that's why levelling would be good - they could just be difficult but defeatable

They're meant to be OP-it adds and element of actual danger to Skyrims wilderness. It's not hard to kil a wolf or sabre cat. It IS hard to kill a direwolf, and that's what I was going for when I made this mod.
It makes it so that you have to be careful when you travel, it's important to stick to the roads and only a high level character can even atempt to take on a pack of direwolves.

Ok, I don't like this mod anymore, they are too overpowered for a low level, a levelling system would be nice

This is a great mod, always a nice surprise to keep roaming the wild a challenge, they are deadly opponents, and I have no problems with the mod

Are there console codes for direwolves? Also, how many people are having problems with direwolves killing everything..? I dont want to unbalance the game.

They did in the original version, but not in this one (redone)

Apparently they appear in Helgen in the beginning and crash the game :/

ok, I realized what the wolf is doing. It is acting like a dog running around me and protecting and getting in my face like all good dogs. They can be a pain and in your way sometimes and when you go into town, you leave him outside the gate or just inside it till you come back for him. This still works. I just have to treat him like a dog cuz thats what he is. I also like the fact that he can follow me up mountainsides where followers wont go and one of the best things I found is that he keeps up with me most of the time. So he is there if i need him.

The wolf needs to be trained to not breath down my neck in the growling hot dog breath thing cuz pushing me off cliffs is definitely not acceptible....lol... bad dog
