@DerkThunder It's unlikely since the game has not been patched in over 4 years. The most likely reason is due to conflicting mods enabled. You'll want to look for any mod that changes the ballista or any large mod that changes many things.

Its really sad that you cant use this awesome mods to get skulls :( . I think they should add a system like the guys from Killing Floor did ....... a whitelist. With whitelisted mods you can still gain exp .Blacklisted mod are just (op weapons) for fun . What a shame that they didnt add something like that . It would make the game just more interesting with arsenal of you choice !

I used to miss the origional Ballistas from Orcs Must Die 1 but these make both versions way better. Great mod, everyone should use this.

I eventually did get the model I wanted but adding all of the properties to make the projectile work like I wanted just didn't happen. Modding the Crossbow is almost like a death sentence, you're right. It hates everybody. Thanks for the help!

@Yo Yo That's strange, it should work. It may be an issue with the Crossbow itself, it doesn't like to be modded and is very buggy.

That's the thing. There is no <model> tag for the crossbow projectile. I tried adding it but I guess it's not that simple.

@Yo Yo the entity for the projectile is defined at the top of the XML. You need to change the <Model> to what you want it to be.

How did you manage to change the entity the ballista shoots? I tried something similar with the crossbow but it just didn't work.

Weird thing. I suppose it should have custom icon in spellbook... And custom model in game... But it works as it should, though it's overpowered - place few of those and nothing gets through :D.

@NickyWhat Tried attaching the sapper model to the actual Ballista. It's sloppy and doesn't work right...but I'm sure it's possible so it could happen eventually once I learn more about the code. Great idea btw :)

To those talking about it being OP, there really isn't a need to balance such things so much ( or at all imo), these are mods to change and manipulate the way the original game is. Play the game unmodded or don't use them if you feel they're affecting your gameplay negatively.

This thing is hilarious! I freaking :pinkheart: hearing the Kobolds being flung at enemies xD. wondering if there is any way to edit the Balistas to actually show the Kobolds being idle and waiting to be shot? Nothing important but would add to the hilarity and novelty of the mod :p! Either way 5 stars!

It's that all shots are now AOE explosions that make it OP, not just the damage...fun mod but these things are taking out waves by themselves hehe.

@Duente Search your Steam folder in Windows for sapper and it should bring up the mod for you to check. For this, I replaced the projectile animation and model with sapper (that's why it doesn't move or ragdoll) and then just changed the damage to how the Sappers work.

@ussoro All my mods will work in online co-op but both people need to have the exact same mods enabled (that goes for any mods, not just mine).

Since you make the non-absurd kind of traps. I would like to make a few suggestions. If they sound lame or something, please disregard the message:
1 -The sapper balista has a too big projectile, sometimes hitting the own ballista (this can be replicated, when ballista is shooting up/trough or at far targets. Try to reduce the sapper projectile.
2 -I would like to see a Sapper Dispenser, as in they spawn being hurled (like the barrel), and chase a nearby enemy. For balance, it could be added a negative regen, so as to they die in about a couple of seconds.
3 -I would like to see a weapon with Wind belt primary, and Bone amulet secondary, with some sort of funny summon (Like gnoul, or sapper) btw, I like sappers =/
4 -More Trinkets. Like a berseker passive, and defense active.
5 -Acid Floor Scorcher (is the fire model paintable?), or weird combinations, like Fire Sprayer.

Anyhow, I hope you smirk at something here, and at least laugh. Good work, and keep it up.
