Danube river not working in Europa. Did anyone solve ?
The Renegade 7 Oct, 2023 @ 8:35pm
Tried this with latest HIP, completely breaks the map, new "counties" that aren't interactable, other existing ones like the ones around Nidaros are un-selectable/interactable. Cannnot traverse these types of "counties"/areas leading to very weird navigation that requires galleys to go anywhere in or out of certain areas.

Doesn't work with SWMH, shows "Don, Dwina" etc. in every unpassable mountain

The way that CK2 uploads mods to steam is through an in game tab. If manage button for that tab is grayed out then it wont let you update the mod. I have not been able to update one of my mods for CK2 since April 2020. Beside since the launch of CK3 I have decided to "End of Life" all my CK2 mods and so they will not be reviving any more updates.

CK2 was never switched over to the new launcher so it still uses the old way of uploading mods. That way finicky at the best of times. The last time I was able to successfully push out an update one of my CK2 mods was 2 years ago.

Sorry to inform you but this mod entered end of life 2 years ago.
taio 10 Apr, 2022 @ 2:32pm
Aha, never mind, it's now working. Unfortunately for anyone with the same problem, I'm not sure how I fixed it. Now onward to make Suez the capital city of the world...
taio 10 Apr, 2022 @ 2:23pm
Yeah the interface literally won't let you, a red circle with a line thru it shows up when you try. I tried direct downloading the Frosty1 - Frosty3 and 3.3.x version from the Paradox thread and copying default.map, but that still just breaks the mod again.
Licarious Fenrir  [author] 10 Apr, 2022 @ 1:59pm
Sorry, I forget that the workshop zips CK2 mods.
Try dragging out the one of the default.map in the Options folder. Then drag that file back into the map folder.
taio 10 Apr, 2022 @ 1:52pm
My bad for failing to RTFM haha, sorry to exercise your patience. Problem I'm now facing is, the mods in my folder all come pre-zipped, meaning in order to copy the file I have to unzip copy and then rezip. Every time I try doing that though it just seems to disable the entire river mod. Any advice?
Licarious Fenrir  [author] 10 Apr, 2022 @ 1:35pm
The Canal of the Pharaohs defaults to silted up preventing sailing between the Mediterranean and Red Seas.
Inside this mod there should be a folder called "Options". Inside that there are 6 folders each for a different combination of canal and Caspian condition, along with a txt file explaining what each of them do. It should be as simple as copping the default.map file from the 1 of those 6 that you want and pasting it into this mods map folder.
taio 10 Apr, 2022 @ 12:53pm
I can sail into the Nile just fine and the Canal of the Pharaohs is visible but I am unable to sail through it into the Red Sea.
Licarious Fenrir  [author] 10 Mar, 2022 @ 1:18pm
IIRC the mini version doesn't remove any provinces it only removes the history associated with them turning them into wastelands. If that is the case this should work out of the box with it.
jimí 10 Mar, 2022 @ 4:10am
Is there any way of making this compatible with the Mini-SWMH map, that removes India/West Africa?
Licarious Fenrir  [author] 6 Jan, 2022 @ 11:21pm
That would be a bit more difficult to do than you might think. As any sea/river prov that is not adjacent to another sea/river prov gets converted into a lake isolate. Those lakes don't allow ports on them. You would ether need to split lake Chad into multiple provs or add a major river flowing into it.
[FS] Kapitan Wolfgang 6 Jan, 2022 @ 11:06pm
In your vanila mod there are ports around Lake Chad, is that an option here too?
finnbtd 11 Oct, 2021 @ 1:11pm
Spoken much too soon. When I try to save the edited, default.map file, instead of just closing (after all, it's assigned a place) they want me to pick out a place, so I follow along with documents- paradox interactive-ckii-mods , but then all mods except for hip have disappeared, meaning I can go no further and it's stuck at the very same place, the mod directory, that is also the limit of where I can copy and/or drag and drop it. Truly, maddening. Thanks for your help though!
finnbtd 11 Oct, 2021 @ 12:57pm
Thanks, I think I've got it now. You can change it mid-game, too, right?
Licarious Fenrir  [author] 11 Oct, 2021 @ 12:51pm
If you can open the default.map files up in a text editor then you could probably do the changes by hand. the changes are mostly moving some number around in the ocean_region section and adding/removing some # in the major_rivers section.
finnbtd 11 Oct, 2021 @ 12:39pm
I can drag and drop it to both the CKII and the mod folder, but not to any, more useful location and my pc just greys out the paste option... how I hate Windows.
Licarious Fenrir  [author] 11 Oct, 2021 @ 12:33pm
That sounds weird. I wonder if that is a permission thing or a zip thing?
finnbtd 11 Oct, 2021 @ 11:48am
Wish it were as simple as copying and pasting, somehow I'm blocked from the pasting part of the process...
Licarious Fenrir  [author] 3 Oct, 2021 @ 5:41pm
This mod should work just fine with the hip version of medieval trade routes.
Angel 3 Oct, 2021 @ 5:35pm
any idea if this conflicts with medieval trade routes?
Licarious Fenrir  [author] 26 Sep, 2021 @ 5:11pm
Unless they have changed that sometime in the last 18 months. The old launcher is stranger than you might imagine. The load order is actually reverse alphabetical. So that "A" should make it one of the last mod to load.
Regularity 26 Sep, 2021 @ 3:27pm
Ah, solved it. It actually turns out that it was the name; as you know, paradox' crappy default launcher automatically sorts alphabetically. Your mod was called "A more navigable..." meaning it starts with an "A", which made it load before HIP instead of after.
Licarious Fenrir  [author] 26 Sep, 2021 @ 8:26am

Sorry to bother you, but I'm having a minor issue with the mod. The new canals/waterways appear in the game, as do the caspian ports, however there appears to be invisible barriers (tooptop says no path) between the canal zone itself and the exit (the side connected to a non-mediterranian water zone, e.g., the red sea, the caspian sea). I don't expect you're still working on the mod still, but I'm hoping you could at least point me in the direction of which file or variables I need to search for to see if another mod might be overwriting or conflicting with something?
Licarious Fenrir  [author] 30 Jun, 2021 @ 11:37am
No, If I remember correctly then Better Slavs also changed the province map.
I have moved away form CK2 modding. If anybody wants to make a compatibility or subversion for it then they have my go-ahead.
Gaylad 30 Jun, 2021 @ 8:25am
is this compatible with the mod "Better Slavs", which is also intended for HIP?
shadow26 13 Feb, 2021 @ 11:57pm
I re-Installed everything that has fixed the problem
shadow26 13 Feb, 2021 @ 11:16pm
okay thanks anyway its just one of those things ill try re-installing everything and see what happens
Licarious Fenrir  [author] 13 Feb, 2021 @ 11:08pm
Sorry I don't know what could be going wrong for you. I don't touch the tree map and since you are running it with the SWMH map that HIP uses everything should line up.
shadow26 13 Feb, 2021 @ 11:03pm
Sorry i double posted
shadow26 13 Feb, 2021 @ 11:02pm
yes I'm using SWMH
shadow26 13 Feb, 2021 @ 10:59pm
yes I'm using SWMH
Licarious Fenrir  [author] 13 Feb, 2021 @ 10:51pm
Strange are you using this with the SWMH map?
shadow26 13 Feb, 2021 @ 10:43pm
this isn't working for me i get trees in the oceans
Licarious Fenrir  [author] 11 Jan, 2021 @ 11:05pm
If you open the zip file for the mod up, then there should be a folder called Options. From there it switching around ports/canal should be as easy as copping the default.map from one of the sub folders and pasting it into the mods map folder.
11 Jan, 2021 @ 10:43pm
I'm a little confused, where are the options to add/remove ports and connecting caspian sea to ocean, etc? I don't see any options in game start or under decisions

Just a note - this mod overrides native HIP optional maps like flat topology.bmp and such, would be nice to note that in the description - I forgot I had MNR loaded and wondered why the HIP flatmap does not load :)

For anyone who enjoys this mod the version for CK3 is now live.

ok thank you anyway.

Comprehensive Annals of Five Dynasties does do a massive eastern map expansion. Even if they did not cause crashing then one would break the other.
I have been winding down my CK2 mods for the last several months. As such I don't have any plans to create one. But I don't have any objection to anyone else doing so.
Here is the Auto Incrementer that I use for CK2. It might not be as feature complete as the one that I have developed for IR but it does take care of most of the tedious stuff and it hasn't failed me yet.

OSST 18 Aug, 2020 @ 12:26am
HIP - Comprehensive Annals of Five Dynasties any chance of making your mod compatible with this one. used together crashes occur or the mods dont work.
Licarious Fenrir  [author] 16 Jul, 2020 @ 3:08pm
Still compatible. Generally whenever a mod that i have a submod for has an update I do a comparison of the 2 versions using WinMerge. That allows me to see what was actually changed.
Yes, this should be compatible with MiniSWMH.
Licarious Fenrir  [author] 16 Jul, 2020 @ 2:18pm
I am aware of Frosty3. It did not change anything that this mod cares about.
Licarious Fenrir  [author] 4 Jun, 2020 @ 10:28am
Trade Routes alone shouldn't cause any issues with this mod.
I don't know, it is working fine on my end with both my local copy and the one from Steam Workshop.
Lucien 4 Jun, 2020 @ 10:16am
Does a Trade Routes mod count?
