Regular hangar flaps (like large doors that swing open) would be possible with rotors and blast doors, but the hangar wouldn't be air tight, then. Can't think of another way at the moment.

That really sucks, cause that is just a beautifull design you've made... I wonder if i can just place another kind of door so i can still use the hangar, for small drone ships. Seems a waste if it cant be used.

Jokes aside. The current game engine makes it impossible for me to fix this. Makes me sad, because it worked like a charm when I first uploaded it.

Sorry, I don't have a blueprint of only the hangar doors. Look for the airtight version of my "Twinport Class Destroyer". Similar hangar system. You should be able to remove everything around the hangar in creative mode and save it as a new blueprint.

Do you have a blueprint specifically for the hanger doors… Because I'm wanting to use this set up of hanger doors for A vehicle deployment transport. The concept and basic idea for what I'm trying to do is: Stop, drop and move without the transport ever touching the ground. I also asked: Sandst4rm

I've been looking at fixing this for the past week and nothing stops the deformation, it appears to be an inherent flaw of the actual movement design of your hangar doors. so in other words there is no fixing it without redoing the pistons

I'm making a carrier using the same kind of idea as yours but the actual mechanical pieces are all covered with blast doors to avoid collision and it still seals correctly, here's the link but if you don't want it you can delete the comment as always cause it is your page after all :)

You can try again, now. New version should work without explosions but the ship might "move" very slowly while the door is closed. Also the edges of the hangar door (front and rear end of the door) can take a little damage on opening (slight deformation). I will keep working on this

I think the whole hangar is gunna need to be rebuilt, I reconstructed the hole in the front to exact factory and the rear exploded again on me initiating the opening sequence. probs better to make a Mk II variant, probably also get more subs that way.

i work with it for a bit but recently when i try to spawn it in part of the hanger door show damage before i even spawn it in and i tried to unsub to it and sub again and try but part of the door still show damage

Hull Breach I was checking this out today and the rear of the hangar explodes every time i unmerge despite having subgrid damage turned off, just might wanna look into it idk.

Love this ship to death man it is awesome. Had to add a bunch of Gyros but it's perfect. The only issue I have is the right hangar door catches and wont open, just damages blocks. It's like the pistons dont raise high enough before the door pulls back. I tried changing the max piston height and it blew the door up lol

Depends on your server and play style.
Some people use a projector in survival mode to project a ship's blueprint into the world and build it there. But subgrids (= grids on piston or rotor heads) are not projected, so in this case the hangar door will not show up in a projection. You would have to rebuild it (could be complicated) or spawn the complete ship with admin permissions.

Multiplayer in general improved a lot since the multiplayer overhaul patch a few months ago. Server performance is better now. I have a bad internet bandwith (12k), but I can still play on my dedicated server with a bunch of friends so with a good bandwith it should be no problem.

So if you have a good or at least average bandwith, this ship should be absolutely usable in multiplayer.

I've been playing with the idea of remote controlled ships with mergeblocks and waypoints to make a slow moving large station airtight hangar door - such as for a capitol ship and in fact im going to try and make one now in creative.

They look good, very nice work but i will rework the doors tu put moded larger doors and not rely on rotors which are simply clang gods in survival mode.
