@Killah Zillah: your welcome! I´ve uploaded two screenshots with a purple version in the discussion board.
Since you and @Noodles (hi there :) asked about two skins i´ve made in the past: I didn’t delete them (and the others) but I hide them all (except the Protector since I made it not completely on my own) and this one here. The reason behind this time out is that I feel like that the workshop lacks of some love from OVK. I mean there are over a 1000 skins since July 2016 and only 8 community safes were released to this day. And the workshop itself still got no updates since a year or more.

Back in the days were Joakim was still around and AMAs were a thing he/ OVK promised to show some love for the workshop but atm I don’t feel much “love”. I mean there is already a thread in the workshop discussions section with plenty of good ideas how to improve the workshop and I know that at least AJ has some good ideas as well (Rex ofc too but he retired). Then there are weapons which are broken and not really skinable like the Parabellum for example. I know that the majority of pd2 players doesn’t care for the workshop in general and the belongs of skin creators in particular and there are other big to dos (blancing?!) but for me it’s important.

Maybe its too late to demand such things since the support for pd2 comes to an end but on the other hand the skins and stuff still generate some revenue for OVK (I hope). And then there is also the topic of reward for a skin creator. But looking at the word count I better stop here because who wants to ready this blogpost anyways :D

@nemu: thanks! the workshop doesn’t support normal mapping. So the only way is to try to create a “normal map” look.
@no eihä oo: damn reaper didnt came to my mind! Thanks for your kind words! For the Doom/ Doom 3 look some bump mapping is missing … a lot of bump mapping actually :D

Very true! Being open of politely given criticism is a useful skill, and I love your work so much that I always feel compelled to say something useful or positive when I see your latest piece. BTW, whatever happened to the Red One UMP-45 skin? I wasn't familiar with what it was based on, but I just loved it all on its own.

Surprised this isnt named "reaper repeater", pretty neat though. love it! Really like detail it has, like leather feels almost like its somekind of skin... reminds me of old doom for sure, and im huge fan of old doom and its million mods xD This style could fit in falcon for sure, but dont take it as request!

digging this a lot. i can't tell if you already have from the screenshots but some normal mapping (if payday skins allow it) would really make this pop a lot more.

About the color scheme: I tried red/orange and green but not purple x) but I can make some screenshots and post it in the discussions. And if this skin ever will be released in a safe I don’t mind making a purple recolor mod override (even if you are the only one who’ll uses it :). And I think you are right about sticking to what your “heart” tells you. But sometimes it is good to listen to constructive feedback or suggestions like yours too.

Also, absolutely! It's impossible to balance pleasing your *entire* audience, with so many varying tastes. Your work will always look its best when you're making something that you're actually inspired to make, it'll almost always suffer if it's being forced, especially when it's being forced to meet someone elses standards. The best way to ensure your heart's into whatever you're applying it to, is to stay true to your own muse... and I don't mean for that to sound as pretentous as it probably does. X3

Ooh, you're taking your talent for creating really natural-looking glowing details, and applying it in a new way! Instead of LED's, you made something so goth that it aches my midnight blackened heart. The only thing I'd do to it would be to change the glowing details to purple instead of green, but that's because purple's my favorite color. I genuinely think it's perfect as-is.

It seems like hardly anyone's doing much for this year's halloween. If Overkill won't make a new halloween map this year, hopefully they'll at least put out their first halloween themed community safe!
