Gotta make sure you've got the SDK tools setup properly first, though. And to be honest, I don't remember how to do that. I do know there's setup beyond just installing though.

How do you go about uploading character pools to Steam? I'm hoping to give it a shot myself, but I'm not exactly sure where to begin.

You can save yourself the trouble by using the recommended/required items tab. That way when people sub to your mod, they'll be automatically notified what mods they need.
