The characters did indeed feel a little unlike themselves, but that was intentional. These levels are somewhat of a parody on Therium and Overgrowth's campaigns, both. There's a lot of jokes, simple and complex that are at play here.
If I had only played both campaigns once then I may have also written them this way from memory, however I played Therium like 3x and Lugaru+Overgrowth over 7x so Sorry if I emphasized on the character dialogue a bit xD

I really loved the whole 2nd map and how dialogue went down over the wolf. I also really think you've handled the ending of it very well because I think there is a very real and big sentiment that "Turner" would obliterate Amos in a fight and so the way you handled it by making Turner incredibly injured prior to the fight and the location of the fight leading to a potentially ambiguous ending is just awesome!
I mean, such a high tower and Turner falling down just for the player to see it was surrounded by water?? Genius!
