Okay so to me, this is how it is. Spider-Man PS4 tries to be like in the real world. Spider-Man Web of Shadows is like the comics, it has the weird writing that is pretty funny, the combat in the game is SPECTACULAR and feels like it was ripped from the comics, the swinging is super fun and satisfying, etc.

The base texture itself is black, the colored specular layer adds the purple tint, and the model has rimlighting enabled at all times (the color of the rimlighting is affected by the ambient lighting supposedly, but from what I've seen it's always white).

Love your work man but about the first picture, how did you manage to achieve that black shading? I dont see any negative rimlights because he has positive rimlights all over him.

Yes, but they are (in my opinion) inferior ports because they have lower quality rigging and lack colored specular maps (the thing WoS heavily uses for models)
