understandable. I still prefer the black that coincides more with the other blacks in the merc's outfits though
minor reason 1: the new colors aren't that impressive for me the best one is the pastle pink/blue color and i'm not the biggest fan of this "separate by team dye"
minor reason 2: the changes you preposed aren't the best changing the black and white colors to be a bit less black and white isn't the brightest idea i ever saw
MAJOR reason: you changed the color similar to slate, i can not allow you to do this bullshit it's my faivorite color and it's not similar to blue it is it's own color called teqouise if you want a point of refrence it's like dark teal
BOTTOM TEXT
hehhe, because i really like pyroland's role in the game for the pyro
"vest of best" does have a tinge of red, but that's okay because it's sampled from the merc's vests, which is that color on both teams. the black tone down is sampled from the gloves and blacks of the merc's outfits (spy's gloves, pyro's straps, etc)
also i thought olive is a hue of green; and the reason it came out with mann mint and is called after eight, is because those two colors were mint chocolate chip colors, which is why it has that hint of green in it.
You are basically suggesting After Eight but with the very minimal difference of 5 or less points in their values.
man i wish :P unfortunately After Eight has green tinge to it
After Eight. It's called After Eight.
I think that Valve stopped adding Paint Cans so people on the Wiki don't need to do paint variants for every single paintable cosmetic available in the game to include that new paint can.
Back when After Eight and Mann's Mint was added, the game didn't had that many cosmetics yet.
Though... I doubt it's that since they literally added the absurd amount of Decorated/War Painted weapons.
The problem with the paints being so saturated is that the very first hats were very solid in color, really basic textures, without many details, which might explain as to why the black and white paints were made so dark/bright.
Color Similar to Slate was probably added due to the same reason, there were only hats, no "shirt" items or more complicated cosmetics that would distract too much.
I think the Lime paint only goes well on tech-goggle-related items, like "Upgrade", "War Goggles", etc, but that's about it. Pink is alright (it is very saturated, but it's the only pink color available outside purple variants, there's several types of green to use instead of Lime).
yeah; i included the scout to reference it being capable with the model fixes i did on the other workshop item;
i agree, it would at least be nice to have an alternate, less saturated, paint option but haha at this point hardly anything will ever get improved into the base game i feel.
haha nah you're fine, i agree it wont get added, but i really like the interactions i get with people who see this workshop item
The reference on that paint on Scout pants is not accurate, though, Scout's pants are in the same color in both teams. Maybe pick another class to show where the reference came from?
Anyway, I apologize for being a bit defensive as to why this might not get added. I would love to get less saturated paint cans, but I don't think a straight-replacement will happen. Something that "toggles" could work, though, as mentioned below. Or a slider.
Because most paint cans are things you buy with real money, changing the values wouldn't be a good idea. I'm pretty sure Valve stopped changing equip_regions to not mess up with people's loadouts (even though equip_regions are a big mess).
The only way this could be implemented is if you could switch between Old and New, or add a slider where you can slightly adjust the brightness of all paint cans (slightly, so you can't use the Aged Mustache Grey or After Eight paints to achieve near Lack of Hue color).
I have loadouts where the Lack of Hue / Tinge doesn't look bad, and I don't know how they would look like if this gets implemented, and I am sure there's other people out there too.
Except they won't. #FireGaben
