Adore these maps. I've had some of the most incredible battles. Marching yari walls down alley ways and sandwiching in enemies. Sneak attacks with reinforcements. Every siege has a chance to win. And AI send LOTS of men.

However... I keep getting the same Map. It's a great map. But do they repeat? Most variety seems to have gone.

Cool looking forts, often extremely buggy with very poor path finding. Would highly recommend not using this if playing a FotS campaign, if you do use this during a FotS campaign it will likely screw you over at some point.

enabling spear wall for defending units crashes the game in satsuma

It happened on two maps, unsure what the name is as it was during a campaign. On one of them it worked to lure them with a cav unit, but on the other map they just seemed to be unable to path the terrain. It's only done it once though, other times I played the map it works fine. Was just this once.

It would help to name the battle map. Did you try to lure them with a unit like a cav unit to quickly move near them and then move away, maybe it could trigger them to attack.

I had a glitch today on one of the maps in my campaign. As a Defender, the AI did not attack when on the battlefield. They deployed in one big pile and then just stood there for 60 minutes while the timer ran out. Didn't move once.

These trashy glitch maps are pretty, but they give you a moronic experience when you use cannons or enter. Do not use it if you are FOTS user

hi. fantastic mod. really enjoyed the maps for most the settlements but i think kyoto and maybe others are bugged.

kyoto my save it is a citadel but loaded as a non castle encampment im guessing if it was a town.
im assuming its its down to my graphics settings being on lowest

And I think, its the map for the fortress, the matchlock towers dont take any dmg if thrown fire arrows.

For some reason, I cannot use the fire arrows on the archery towers on some of these maps. It did worked, for once, but ended up hitting the wall next to it instead. Idk if its just me.

Can I have your mod but with vanilla Kyoto? I love your other maps, but I think vanilla Kyoto is better than both of your versions.

Does the AI now has any chances to take your castle?

The design and pathfinding seems much more complicated compared to the vanilla maps.
Is the AI can adequatelly play on these maps?

Are all bugs fixed? Or there are some maps that break the game? Is it possible to turn off some "bugged" maps?
What about performance?

There's a bug on the map that the enemy general can see, but it's actually invisible.

@Teramilkloli Units that climb one by one on spots on walls can be fixed (this happens for AI). Are you talking about your troops doing this or the AI? Give me more feedback with a photo so I can quickly fix and test. You can test in custom battle and tell me the name of the map (you will recognize the map based on the icon). All new custom maps have the prefix [SOTS]. You will have to give me screenshots to see what exactly is happening.

Where is that perfect wall and on what map? I will fix those issues but I need to know more. Thanks.

Units always try to climb up at the EXACT same spot on a wall. This happens to those non-vanilla walls like the wood logs, or walls that are positioned atop an incline like a hill. When ordering units to climb walls en masse this creates a massive bottleneck. A massive seething clump of soft bodies at the bottom of a wall prime for archers, and in FOTS, artillery fire. When they eventually do get to the top, they're always on their own, which leads to their inevitable demise, as per the first issue.

Do you think this is an issue with the way the game processes movement, and is it a known issue? Or is it just the way I move my troops? Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

I noticed that the pathfinding for troops are really wonky. Here are a few examples:

Units tend to split up a lot, and no longer run in formation but instead feels like each individual soldier acts on his own, leading to entire units completely broken up, and each soldier will engage a waiting cohesive defending unit, and get slaughtered in the process because they are massively outnumbered by themselves.

Units tend to take a while to respond to orders, and sometimes refused to do so at all. There was a perfect wall that was overlooking two clashing units that I wanted to position my archers on, but for some reason they refused to attach to the wall despite the yellow circles appearing on the wall, indicating that they CAN be attached to it.

@Cornmuffin Jr I see that some people with slower PC have problem with Kyoto as it is a very large city and it crashes. I will make a new version of kyoto that is smaller.

I was looking through past comments and saw the mention about Kyoto crashing games but getting fixed. It's happening to me as well.

@Pizzoccheri Yes all 5 parts are neccesary. If you want only 1 file for convenience download the COOP version(read the readme file for instructions). It is the same but it autoloads without the need of mod manager.

@Etrionas I do not know why the version here on steam is not multiplayer compatible. But if you download from the google drive the COOP version, it will work with that version(check descripion for download link). Thank you! sorry for late reply!

@Aphenon Sorry I was wrong, inviting to the game does not work. Joining without an invite works fine. So your friend needs to join without an invite :)

@Aphenon It works on multiplayer. Both players need to have the exact same mods active. And if you host invite your friend to join and it should work.

4. some maps are really easy to catch honmaru. I want it to be a bit more difficult.//
5. I cannot put units on the wall in one of citadel map(IDK what that map name is and why. maybe some walls or no-go zone setting glitched?//
6. after victory, some of shattered enemy units stuck in the middle of the castle wall half of their body go underneath of earth. this doesn't really matter for game play but I just report.//

sorry for my messed up English writing. I just hope my opinions are a little bit helpful for your next update. Creating a map is easy to imagine but really hard to actually make one. I know that and I really respect your effort!!!

I used this mod for a month and these are my opinions :
1 Most of maps are really looking good. I can feel how much effort you put into these maps. I really appreciate you.//
2 some maps(especially citadels) have bugs. AI main force(including reinforcement) just stay outside of the castle and never come. only a few of their forces attack.//
3 Citadel maps are too huge so even full scale(20units) defense force uses only central part of the castle. for me, castle(lv4) map is more enjoyable than citadel(lv5). I hope citadel map arrangement become more useful to defend.

Hola, hay mucho problemas con el movimiento de tropas dentro de la fortaleza, muchas zonas en las que se quedan sin movimiento estaticos , y las murallas no permiten a los arqueros apostarse para disparar desde alli, muy buen mod pero por favor arreglen eso y seria perfecto

this is really buggy. I had an enemy capture one of my towers and just stay there instead of advancing with the siege. Then also the problem with the units moving around the new terrain it looks good and all but the ai is glitched really hard on these maps.

does this work for fall of the samurai campaign?

i have a problem buying the standard shogun 2 campaign because i got fall of the samurai standalone and now steam tells me i cant have 2 versions efven if they are 2 different parts of the game.
maybe i have to buy it again to keep fall of the samurai, hoping steam support has alternative solution.

Noob Van Noob the file on twcenter is currently outdated. It takes longer to update the file there than here.

It is exactly the same one as it is here on the workshop, no need to have both.
