Even though I set the game speed to 500, the characters continue to walk slowly. The game doesn't seem fast. What is the reason for this?

I like to be able to lock specific speeds since at some point, I will have bogged my save down to the point that I'm lucky to get a consistent 95 tps.. so that's where I would want to lock speed 2 in that instance. Trust me, this is a lifesaver. Thanks for the update.

v9.02:

- Bumped up the max TPS possible in ultra speed to 30000. Note that no computer in the world will reach that
- Tweaked the minimum of all sliders so weirdos can set ANY speed to a minimum of 0.1 tps. Why? No clue, but people keep requesting it

The debug log doesn't throw any errors, though on further testing it appears to be a vanilla bug introduced in the unstable branch that procs inconsistently so the mod doesn't seem to be the issue, it only seems to exaggerate it a bit when it occurs. I will try contacting the devs instead, sorry for wasting your time.

I'd need: a log with some kind of error / steps to reproduce the bug, as it is obviously not happening to everyone.

It happening with the mod enabled and not when it's not, here is an example: https://imgur.com/ChBy6Wu

The mod was enabled for the first 6 days with the game being run at maximum possible speed and disabled afterwards with the game being run at whatever speed is the fastest in vanilla at which point the graph updates normally as it should. The only mods enabled here were harmony and smart speed so smart speed is the culprit. The devs possibly changed something in the beta patches that causes this to happen as it didn't happen on the stable branch iirc.

Hey there, on the current unstable version of rimworld Smart Speed seems to break the history graph causing the wealth graph to not update properly. The bug only occurs with the mod enabled from what I can see and also happens if the only 2 mods enabled are harmony and Smart Speed.

Hello, could you please enable the different speeds to go below their default?
For example I was hoping I could set speed 3 to 5x instead of it's default of 6x, but it's stuck with 6x as a minimum.

Nah, the problem Phaelanx is that your computer isn't strong enough to handle the game at higher speeds with the mods you have enabled, thus you're not seeing any difference at 2,3,4, because it is already reached its limit at speed 2.
You might also have too many programs running in the background which drags it down further.

No, if a mod is slowing the game itself down, there is nothing this mod can do. It's not a performance mod

Thank you, I downloaded the analyzer, not sure how to really use it, but I was able to find this out.
(With all the speed options on their maximum) - New colony with 3 pawns + 1 prisoner pawn. Nothing too crazy going on, just initial quarters and farm.
Speed 1 - 75 tps tops
Speed 2,3 ,4 - 114 tps tops (The difference is the caps)

I have strong computer specs compared to the required for the game. What I think is happening is that something is prevent the game from utilizing the higher limits established by the speed mod.

Is there a way to have the smart speed mod override any possible throttling by other mods?

It can be ANY of your mods. You'd need to use Dub's Analyzer to know which one

I appreciate your quick response. I have a long list of mods, most of them are items and such. But I set the sliders to their maximum and they still do not seem to effect the game. Especially when I use the ultra, it doesn't seem to make a difference. at 80x speed I expect things to "warp around" but doesn't seem to be the case. Any other known problems/interactions with other mods?

This could be due to a mod conflict, but I noticed that tripping a proximity activator on a mech cluster will cause the 4th speed to no longer work. Rolling back to a save before the proximity activator was tripped fixes the issue.

Can confirm i don't get errors with No Forced Slowdown, but this mod uses more performance with both loaded. Recommend removing NFS

The mod is enabled. I can see the (4) keybind in the settings, and I can change the speed settings for the mod itself. But not even changing the 3x speed to a higher speed works. No mod errors in the debug

Is clearly not Ludeon changes if you the only one facing this issue. Both Sarg's Smart Speed and my Even Smarter Smart Speed fork work fine. ^^

Something changed, with the default speed settings noticeably not speeding things up after install, instead slowing the game down by default, in a non-lag from processing kind of way. As in, it is slower, yet smoothly, if that makes sense.

I changed the defaults to higher settings to speed things up works, but still trying to figure out if it caused by another mod, or whatever Ludeon did to optimise rimworld for 1.6 changed what speed x1 means.
