Thanks for reporting unfortunately the twin cannon uses the buzzards center pylon class so it can be used on different types of mod aircraft.

Also I found out why the vanilla 20mm gun pod doesn't work. Apparently the HMD mod breaks it. Just in case anyone was wondering. Unrelated to this mod, which is great.

The 30mm provides an excellent boost in firepower in exchange for less ammo capacity.

Hey, just a small bug report.

The vanilla Buzzard (aka L-139 ALCA) can equip the twin gun pods which is awfully silly considering that it floats above the model. This should be changed if possible. If it's not possible, no big deal, I'll just yell at my players not to mount that, but I saw some other planes only had access to the twin variant so I thought maybe it is possible.

It annoys me that Firewill's GR9 can't remove its targeting pod. Otherwise this mod is nice. This is of course not the fault of this mod author.

We have some strange bug in our game that prevents us from using the default 20mm cannon so this is a very good alternative. One of our mods broke it a while back and we never figured out which one.

they should actually. The SAB_MILAVI_GUNPOD_ADEN is available only on the hawk so far, SAB_MILAVI_GUNPOD on all others that do not have an integrated weapon.

Are the pylon names implemented ive added them to the code but they are not showing up on your aircraft.

the hardpoint I use are B_A143_BUZZARD_CENTER_PYLON, 20MM_TWIN_CANNON, FIR_AV8B_GR_Misc, and FIR_MISC. I will add your hardpoints in the next update.

Do you have a special hardpoint name for it we can add to our planes?
Since I changed my system I have introduced 2 Hardpoint names you could also use if you want.

I am not using 20MM_TWIN_CANNON anymore - the vanilla cannon recoil is so silly it makes planes fly backwards. Don't want to see that on my planes in future so I removed it.

@Lampshade. It wasn't as straightforward as you might imagine. The 25mm ammo was much more powerful than the old 30mm rounds, they were also quite different in shape as a result with a much larger case diameter than that of the projectile. The increased power translated into a much higher rate of fire in turn producing much greater stresses on the weapon design. The shape of the round causes problems with the reliable feeding of ammunition from the ammo tank, through the feed system and into the feed mechanism at the rear of the gun. Other issues included problems with the ejection of empty links from the pod causing airframe damage and finally what I understand to be the final nail in the coffin, they couldn't get the unburnt gun gas concentrations within the pod sufficiently purged to safe levels.

As a Choppa man, that'd be pretty fantastic.

It can be used on helicopters but the top is not textured so it look weird I might make a version just for choppers if need be.

Does this work with helicopters or just planes?

@TarnishUK You worked on the 25mm ADEN? How did that one get messed up, seems like it should have been a relatively simple conversion.

I never quite worked it out either, I've been an aircraft armourer for the past 29 years and I worked on both the 30mm and 25mm versions of the ADEN during trials work. The original gun pods developed for the Harrier GR5 were very similar to the 30mm pods for the Harrier GR3 and Sea Harrier, I'm sure it would have been fairly straight forward to knock up a 30mm fit for the GR5/7/9.

Yes I am aware the harrier GR7/9 never carried the ADEN 30mm I am curious however why they did not try to retrofit the older ADEN 30 mm pods to them.

Not really important in the case of this game but a historical point being that the Harrier GR7/9 never carried the ADEN 30mm. A 25mm version of the gun was intended but ultimately it never entered service being cancelled due to technical issues leaving the aircraft to serve until 2010 without a gun system.
