Hello, I want to ask if you mind if I post a mod that has combined your mod with some updates and changes based on other work I've done. I added an arthurian & mordred bloodlines and special grantable Knight's of the Round Table and other titles, the thirteen treasures of Britain as artifacts, as well as an event to spawn Mordred as an adventurer. I'm also hoping to get permission to merge it with some of the Arthurian Legacy mod.

Update?

@Lord Friedrich of course it stars as vanilla, the mod starts after a random event.

Hey there, a frind and I are reworking both the celtic and germanic side of things in england, with a special focus on the brythonic cultures. We have an arthurian bloodline, cornish culture, brythonic culture, and we have plans for a melting pot event for it, plus more. We were wondering if you'd want to share script or work together somehow

Will this be updated?

Added a comment about possible paganism given early Arthurian legend in the discussion...would like your thoughts

Oh, nice. Good working

@✠ Lord Friedrich ✠
We are currently working on a small update to improve the events you encounter on your adventure to find Excalibur. Unfortunately it's difficult to find time to work on this together due to our conflicting schedules but it's underway. After this we will be moving on to the 2.0 update which will introduce the new melting pot culture and a special event to crown yourself High King of the Isles.

We're waiting for the update sirs

I kinda want to point out that King Arthur wasnt always christian, so I feel like Excaliber should work with Celtics/Pagans
Eagle 23 Mar, 2019 @ 4:34pm
The first event is something similar to what chrisyerinton said. That event id isn't quite right. It's loka_excalibur.1
chrisyerington 10 Feb, 2019 @ 5:19pm
loak.excalibur.1 seems to be it
chrisyerington 10 Feb, 2019 @ 4:31pm
what is the event id for the start of the chain?
Sarvoth 30 Jan, 2019 @ 12:39pm
Does this work with Holy Fury? if not, add my name to the list of people very much looking forward to this when it is updated.
El Fishler 27 Dec, 2018 @ 12:11pm
Can you find and wield Excalibur as an English ruler? Or is it just Welsh/Breton?
Squan 21 Dec, 2018 @ 8:06pm
is there a event id for the excalibur?
AdvLeon  [author] 9 Dec, 2018 @ 5:42am
@Victor Iscariot
I'm definitely still here! Unfortunately I've been so busy with work and so has my writer. He's the genius behind the amazing event text. I've got the code for the next update more or less ready so hopefully we can find some time over the holidays to write out the next section.

As much as I love Holy Fury it upset my plans somewhat with the whole coronation system as I had planned for a similar event for this mod, so I must eventially figure out a way to tie that all in.

I think the next step will be working on the new culture events.

Glad you enjoy the mod and i'm definitely in regards to Anglo-Saxons loving Arthur too. The new culture will be a Celtic/Saxon melting pot to hopefully represent a newfound unity between Celts and Saxons.
GodwinMarcelle 9 Dec, 2018 @ 3:04am
I super hope this is still being worked on. I love Chivalric Romance as a concept and King Arthur is synonymous with it! Maybe allow Anglo-Saxons and Englishmen to get the event chain too. Arthur might have of course been Celtic, but us Anglos like to pretend he wasn't one of the lads fighting back our ancestors.

Nevermind, I am not sure what I did wrong but It showed up this last time that I subscribed
BuffaloError 24 Nov, 2018 @ 3:24pm
@AdvLeon I seem to be having a problem getting the mod to download upon subscribing. is there a direct link to the mod?

Also, (no rush) but when are we looking at an update to the mod for Holy Fury?
Kevin McScrooge 15 Nov, 2018 @ 5:42am
@A Most Sovreign Lady You're a Pagan? That's even worse than catholicism.
Etruscan 22 Oct, 2018 @ 11:05pm
@Forthencho Lord of Autism what about the romano-british warlord Artorius? Its possible Arthur was a pagan
Manteiv 18 Oct, 2018 @ 11:21am
Challenge accepted >:3
AdvLeon  [author] 18 Oct, 2018 @ 4:30am
@Tsuchinoko Nam!
No, it's not technically required, but I reccomend it since a few events and many I have coming in future updates rely on you posessing a certain artifact, so it's possible to go without but quite risky :)
Manteiv 17 Oct, 2018 @ 8:43pm
Wait do i really need the "No artifact losing" mod?
Hiluxium 26 Sep, 2018 @ 11:34am
I suddenly want to go to California.
Simmo 25 Sep, 2018 @ 2:13pm
I just wish neo-paganism would go ahead and neo-die out too.
Miath 15 Sep, 2018 @ 9:51am
Excepting that it wasn't thorough and we mere pagans didn't die out completely until the 8th century (and persisted in hiding beyond that). Understandable reason, thanks! @AdvLeon
Forthencho Lord of Autism 15 Sep, 2018 @ 4:16am
@A Most Sovereign Lady Acctually Arthur would have undobtably been a Christian, The only Written recod of Britain from around the timeframe of Arthur is reputed to have lived was a monk castigating his fellow christian kings for living in sin and that the pagan saxons are a punishment from God. In addition to this St Patric was a Briton All hisorical evidence points to the britons being throughly Christianized during the saxon invasions
AdvLeon  [author] 15 Sep, 2018 @ 4:11am
@A Most Sovereign Lady
Since no Celtic Pagan religion exists in the game I would have to create a whole new religion which would take quite a lot of work to make interesting and unique rather than just a reskin of another religion.

Besides, in my eyes the point of weilding Exclaibur is not about your religion but rather the desire to defend Britain and protect it's people. I may give the option to reintroduce pagan beliefs but I would wait until Holy Fury is out until I consider that.

Thanks for the comment :)
Miath 14 Sep, 2018 @ 9:11pm
Why Christian? It's highly likely the man or men that King Arthur is based on/was was a pagan.
pst999 14 Sep, 2018 @ 1:05pm
Can English Culture characters also get Excalibur?
ChevaliersPoulet 11 Sep, 2018 @ 7:36am
I cant get the events to fire......
Miath 8 Sep, 2018 @ 5:03pm
... I am intrigued, hell I am more than intrigued I love it already, I adore the Arthurian cycle. Kudos, authorling, kudos.

AdvLeon  [author] 7 Sep, 2018 @ 11:42am
So it seems that the "mind wonders" event requires Way of Life and the event to return home from the pilgrimage requires Sons of Abraham. For the former I can simply remove the event (we will be re-doing the pilgrimage events later anyway), for the latter, I will update the mod to require Sons of Abraham DLC, since it is required for the pilgrimage mechanic I believe
Lord_Duckian 6 Sep, 2018 @ 7:33am
unsure if anyone else has issues with this but whenever I get to the "the mind wonders" it won't let me continue, i've tried twice now and waited for a few years on each. I've gone with the one where there's a random chance of getting 5 traits, so it might be that or perhaps something else
zlatky 6 Sep, 2018 @ 7:24am
If you could come up with a HIP-compatible version at some point, I'd be more than willing to try it!
Karizen: Praetor's Herald 5 Sep, 2018 @ 6:07pm
That Morale stuff is OP, everything else is something I would expect from someone owning that sword.
PersonnaGratiner 5 Sep, 2018 @ 1:33pm
for compatibility with CKII+ in file common/artifact and event/artifact file you put
OR = { primary_title = { title = k_england }
primary_title = { title = k_wales }
primary_title = { title = e_britannia }
primary_title = { title = e_breton }
primary_title = { title = e_great_britain }
primary_title = { title = e_celtic }
}
at place of old, finaly you add CKII+ celtic_groupe empire and it work normaly.
PersonnaGratiner 5 Sep, 2018 @ 1:03pm
Compatibily with CK2+ but you not form empire with, because the primary title is wale, england or british empire, but the basic vanilla empire of game, not empire of CKII+ mod, (britain/breton or celtic empire for exemple) finaly with sword you can not equip it because the conditions will not be met, so rest with england or wale title.
Cimbri 5 Sep, 2018 @ 12:12am
@tate.tatum12 Probably not, CK2+ is a Total Conversion, which is a shame, though I'll probably test it anyway
Ever the Hall 4 Sep, 2018 @ 5:37pm
Whill this be compatible with CK2+?
TaterTot 4 Sep, 2018 @ 2:22pm

I love studying British history, primarily the Dark Ages and the Brythonic Kingdoms. This is also what I love doing when I play CK2. For Yr Hen Ogledd!

Robert de Rainault: It's a very curious country, Gisburne. It seems to absorb people like a sponge. I mean, what do you think we are - English or Norman?

Sir Guy of Gisburne: Norman, my lord.

Robert de Rainault: Yes, that's what I thought you'd say.
