Yes, it is known to be incompatible/broken with this mod (and also with ACE) for years now :)

So I checked and it looks like "Piles Plus" breaks drying racks.

@Jisthebest658 I think some people had a similar issue in the past and we found out it was either the "Piles Plus" mod or the "Better Storage" mod? I don't remember which but check if you have either of those and if you do, removing it might fix it.

If it's Better Storage, I think (although also not sure) Bruno's "Mod Repairer" has a fix for it, so you'll have to subscribe and activate that one!

ay i dont know if its a mod compatibility issue but for some reason my people wont take the dried pelts out of the drying rack and the pelt wont register as crafting material either

They should automatically replenish the salt, do you use the "Cancel Order" command often? The one you can drag around to cancel pending orders like harvest orders and such? There's a chance you might have cancelled the automatic order to replenish the salt by accident. But if you click the rack it should have a command/option to ask for salt to be replaced; it should appear on the unit frame (the lower left window with the item's name and description when you select it)

That definitely seems like some mod incompatibility or other issue because these are working fine here. Could you tell me what mods are you using?

I just found out that my smoking pits won't produce smoked meat but another smoking pits instead. About the pelt thing, animals drop raw skins but I can't dry them up into pelts.

My sun-tanning racks are not working. I've spent weeks waiting and it displays the message that the salt reserve is empty, but it doesn't give me an option to refill it. help :(

That seems right, it takes 3~4 days depending on the type of meat to get salted, hence why cured meat (salting + smoking) is so more valuable than just smoking

Quick question: How long does it take for meat to be salt cured? Its been 3 in game days since I put meat in the salt box and I'm not sure if it takes longer or is my stuff bugged.

That's a very weird report, what do you mean with "getting a lot of smoking pits everyday"? Like, they appear on your town?
And about the pelts, what do you mean? Animals are not dropping any pelt? Or are the fresh pelts not transforming into dried pelts?

@Puppy Axel they need storage with filters that accept prepared food for them to take it out of the smokehouses, they won't take it if there's nowhere to take it to... I've tested here and it is working fine using ACE prepared food filters for counters;

I think storage is broken. My people put in the raw meat to smoke. It gets smoked, but they can't store it anywhere. It'll sit in the smokehouse fully smoked. Sometimes after a VERY long time, they decide to take it out. They're all idle, so they're not busy

@Ivo you've missed reading, because that's exactly what this mod is about and you should probably read the description before subscribing to a mod :)

"Drying, Cleaning & Tanning
Fresh pelts will dry after being inside their respective drying racks for a while. After they've dried, workers will move them around as they'll now be regular pelts that can be used in crafting or cleaned into Rawhides and tanned for leather in a tanning tub. The trapper can build the tub and clean the hides."

The items inside the game will also explain that to you.
Basically you dry fresh pelts into regular pelts using the drying frame, then you craft (with the Trapper) "Rawhide" and then your folks will put the Rawhide inside Tanning Tubs (also crafted by the Trapper) to tan into leather.

Not sure if I missed something, but for some reason I cannot make any leather with this mod enabled. The leather from the weaver requires skins or scaly skins and I do not where to make those, as the trapper does not have recipes for those objects. Any idea what I missed?

Thanks, Dani! I changed my local copy of the mod to something like what I suggested (10 minutes though, which is 10 seconds real time). It seems to me that the end result is the trapper gets the "I'm stinky" negative thought, but hearthlings aren't rolling around doing half a day or more hoping for an invasion to end it all because they smelled the tub. However, when close to the tub there's still an effect, giving you a reason to put it far from workshops and beds. If you are open to revisiting this mod 6 years later, I have more feedback. But, lengthy. Let me know a good way to provide it, if you want to consider making changes at all.

That's very valid, I didn't have many resources when I added it and did want something that lasted (because the stench of a tanning tub is something you "carry with you" for a while) but that's what I could pull off back then when I made it, I'll see if I can improve and make it less penalizing on the long run for the next version. Opinion: The tanning tub is far too ruinous. I like that it stinks, but the debuff lasts for HOURS, and it reduces inspiration to 0%. So much for path of the makers. Might as well choose between making leather or letting anyone in the town make anything. It wouldn't be so bad if you could control where hearthlings go, but if someone wants to haul something by the tub, they cannot produce anything of high quality. The stench radius seems to be quite large, and it's not blocked by doors. I thought putting it underground behind 3 doors might reduce it, but that didn't work. The -50% willpower and curiosity are also hugely penalizing. IMO the dubuff should be changed to 5 minutes (i.e. only when within the radius), the penalties should be -10% inspiration and -15% willpower and curiosity, and the radius reduced to the same range that heat emanates from a stone brazier when using ACE.

This mod breaks my game. If I try to start Stonehearth with Trapper+ enabled then I will just get an infinite black screen when the music comes on. Disabling just this mod makes the game load fine. I am using only ACE, ACE Recommended and ACE Approved mods. I am also on Linux if that matters

Hey, not sure if its the recent ACE update or another mod is conflicting, but for some reason, Salted meat is not being smoked nor can it be used. I downloaded Trapper+ from github.

Hello love the mod, however when I try and use the smoke house it says it needs to be refuelled (I have ACE), even though I have all the fuel types in good supply and close by. Any help?

Drying frames can't be undeployed. Even long-long after you rid off from stuff on them. Like, i marked them for "no stuff on" 3 in-game years ago, and they still standing.
I thought you know about that. It's old.

I can't make [boiled leather] properly in the ACE environment because I can't find any recipes for waxes, herbalists may be able to make vegetable waxes, but this also brings up a new question:what are waxy plants? I don't know how to farm or gather them (in fact, I don't even know what items they are), does this require a new mission to unlock, or something new in the next phase of the update?:steammocking:

I love Trapper+, I've been using it a long time, but recently it seems that the pelts will not dry on the drying racks. Is this a known issue, any workaround for it? It's a bit of an issue not being able to get any leather.

sir, the pelt of Trapper+mod seems to have a problem, the pelt in the item box cannot be recognized when making the clean pelt

Hmmm, interesting, actually. I mean, I know SmartCrafter breaks with ACE because ACE has its own similar system (and changes a lot of the crafting code)... But I don't know why SmartCrafter would break with this mod WITHOUT ACE.... Because this mod doesn't really touch crafter code at all, there's no possible/logical reason for this mod to break SmartCrafter.... Hmmm, I wonder why.

hey, thanks! I figured it out RIGHT before you answered, the smart crafter mod is not compaitble with yours.. Im not using ACE though :/ , so I kinda wanted it; dont really know why it doesnt work. Im removing it. Thanks :D
