couldn't find a way to speed up cube before noclipping in
tried to make it bounce on blue gel and then fall right through portal and into the glass, didn't understand there was a slope
noclipped and the entire solution with orange cube sliding and falling became obvious. need better view of chamber!!
Lemonov 19 Mar, 2021 @ 7:22pm
this entire series is so bad, every solution feels like I'm doing something wrong and it's not what was intended.
canticle 28 Sep, 2020 @ 2:58pm
OK, the glass breaking thing is cool....but I got it looking at comments. I gave up because all the previous solutions in the series were very execution and timing based that I just stopped looking for clever solutions. Really wish I hadn't gotten used to that mode, because this would have been fun to work with until I figured it out (had I believed it was a "figure-out" instead of run, jump, fling, timing...)

if you noclip over the gao at the beggining thx genius

YOU SHATTERED THE 4TH WALL

"showoff"
omg i couldent stop laughing, thank you mr intercom guy

Ok the puzzle now. First, I get it, you want the player to solve the chamber while he is on a separate room... nice concept. Terrible execution however: the first thing that the player must see is the panel above the cube, however that is reeeeeeally hidden, making me have to look at the comments to actually solve this thing. Second, time based? Really? It's not even a time-based puzzle, it's actually a time trial, a thing everyone hates on this game. Second, why put the blue gel exactly on the entrance point of the button? So not only do I have this stupid time trial which serves NO purpose on the puzzle I also gotta deal with the challenge of not having him covered in blue gel! What an amazing map! /s

Dude, get a damn puzzle maker. I'm serious.
_galaxy 1 Jul, 2019 @ 5:28pm
Where do I even begin... let's start with the basics.

First... that railway made VERY obvious that something was about to happen. First, if you want to make a joke about how long the railway is, you don't actually want the player to see how long the railway is before he even is on the railway. He then is expecting something to happen, just like those long corridors on horror games. Maybe have half the path not avaible to the player until he reaches the middle.
And did you had to make all that just for that stupid comment? What was that? That was nothing! Nooooothing. My grandpa could have come up with something better.
Clantis 11 Jan, 2019 @ 12:49pm
ok when you put it that way it does make sense.
Blondie  [author] 11 Jan, 2019 @ 12:47pm
No, I believe it could've been made easier to spot. The goal isn't to play hide and seek, it should be to give the player all of the tools up front, then let them piece together how to use them
Clantis 11 Jan, 2019 @ 12:44pm
everyone is just mad because they are aparently blind and cant see the simple PORTABLE WALL ABOVE THE CUBE.

Clantis 11 Jan, 2019 @ 12:29pm
"show off" best thing ever.
vallibus 24 Dec, 2018 @ 8:53am
Whoa! This was quite the challenge--at least for me. Apparently I didn't solve it the intended way as I used blue gel instead of orange gel on the cube to break the glass. The cube always seemed to get stuck above the orange gel dispenser, so it never occurred to me to try orange gel on the cube. I still have a lot to learn. But I'm still happy I reached the exit.
|SLAVE| [cf] thenewkid30 24 Nov, 2018 @ 3:31pm
nvm, I'm an idiot, I didn't ever realize that you had to run the cube under the orange gel so it'll slide easier
|SLAVE| [cf] thenewkid30 29 Oct, 2018 @ 6:05pm
actually, I think maybe that the portal spot just needs to be a little bit higher
|SLAVE| [cf] thenewkid30 29 Oct, 2018 @ 5:49pm
That ramp above the orange gel needs to be slanted more because most of the time, the cube gets stuck up there
Blondie  [author] 7 Oct, 2018 @ 12:54pm
Appreciated <3
GrottoLova 7 Oct, 2018 @ 12:53pm
That's what I thought. I noclipped into the area, lifted the cube into the orange gel then dropped it on the ramp and..... it stayed right where I dropped it :steamfacepalm::steamhappy:
In all honetly I do appreachiate (Immensly) this series. It is wonderful. My brain gets worn out though. Maybe some more direction on where to look and tweaking the map some would be called for? In this case, mabye setup an infinite fall that we could redirect to the office glass. Perhaps to ge the cube to the fall zone it has to be funneled? Idk, but again its really great to have builders such as yourself! Thanks!
Blondie  [author] 7 Oct, 2018 @ 12:14pm
@sominc Coat the cube in the gel, not the ramp.
GrottoLova 7 Oct, 2018 @ 11:51am
This level is the finickiest so far. Too many things don;t work properly and trying to break the office window with the cube is near impossible since you can't see the panel above the cube then once you manage to get the cube to orange side the gel doesnt coat the ramp so the cube can't fall yada yada yada. Just terrible and it had good potential. shame

Random waste of time.
Soliloquy 1 Sep, 2018 @ 12:40am
For anyone that's having trouble getting through this one here's a comprehensive list of steps. I'll just give hints before the solution so you can only follow as much as necessary.

Hint 1: There is a portal surface above the cube
Hint 2: Blue
Extract the cube: hit the cube with blue, wait for it to reach the area with the water, portal it out

After the cube has been removed
Hint 1: The cube has to gain momentum to break the glass
Hint 2: Gel isn't needed
Breaking the glass: There is a portal surface above the orange gel pipe, portal the cube up and it'll ramp onto the area beside the orange platform. Place a portal there and on the slant near you, the cube will shatter the glass

Sorry, too many characters so I have to break the guide in half.
Soliloquy 1 Sep, 2018 @ 12:40am
Part 2:

Cube to the button
Hint 1: Both gels are vital
Hint 2: make a strip of orange in front of the blue pipe to create a speed jump
Hint 3: Water isn't needed
Hitting the button: Press the button, grab the cube, and run. Go to the side of the blue gel so it doesn't cover the cube. Going on the right works best. This may take a few tries

Getting to the exit door
Hint 1: Use something you used before
Hint 2: How did the cube get momentum to break the glass?
Going through the door: portal up to the ramp you used for the cube. Place a portal just below the exit and where you'll fall. Jump down

If there are errors, you need more help, or know how to do a step better, please message me and I'll try to explain further/fix this guide. If you feel any other level needs a guide let me know and I'll try to make one
[HTTYD] GLADOSCHELL 28 Aug, 2018 @ 11:38am
This chamber, just like the previous one, is unsolvable. Tried a lot of time, I can't throw the cube against the glass, it always fall into the acid.
Nulano 28 Aug, 2018 @ 4:03am
To those saying that the cube mechanic is not used in the base game : try playing the Co-op .
Hellraiser 25 Aug, 2018 @ 7:59am
... nevermind.
Portal surface above the cube.
Hellraiser 25 Aug, 2018 @ 7:58am
With sass . Literally cannot touch the cube wsith any gel.
sass 25 Aug, 2018 @ 2:39am
I get what I'm supposed to do.
I have to somehow fling the cube through the angled panel immediately below me and shatter the glass.

But the is no concievable fucking way you can get the cube out of that little non-portalable pit it spawns in.
None at all. And I've pretty much stared at this puzzle for like a week now.
Lunar Flare 24 Aug, 2018 @ 4:24pm
How u break glass
zeo1337 21 Aug, 2018 @ 10:35am
Once I saw the angle, the solution became clear 8/10
Frayboy15 20 Aug, 2018 @ 3:09am
Ok, finally got past it. That mechanic never came up in the campaigns, so I didn't think about it.
feel better about the level, but I don't think I'll upvote.
Frayboy15 20 Aug, 2018 @ 2:52am
I have spent two hours trying to break this stupid wall'o'glass. The game just now gave up and stopped spawning new cubes. The gel also quit working as well. Don't like this level and it's sad because the preceding ones are... "SO~O GOOD!!"
little_tornado 19 Aug, 2018 @ 10:44am
And here it is: The cube has to fall from ythe only oter high surface. I'll be clearer if I can rember how to use spoilers.
little_tornado 19 Aug, 2018 @ 10:41am
So, everyone is alternatingly saying that this is a good map, or that they can't breakt he glass. Would somone kindly, PLEASE, give more of a hint that 2Breakt he glass witht he cube?
Shrake 18 Aug, 2018 @ 7:19pm
I'm confused on how to get the cube to break the glass, I have to make it fall in just the right way to fling it up and I don't know where it should fall from.
kimist108 18 Aug, 2018 @ 1:05pm
Bouncy, bouncy. On to # 10.
invisy 18 Aug, 2018 @ 10:55am
Guys, It isn`t hard, firstly use blue gel, secondly orange on wall
jandlml 17 Aug, 2018 @ 6:06pm
figured it out. mostly logic. that was a fun one
Zemble 17 Aug, 2018 @ 6:03pm
That one wasn't too bad, no difficult execution based solution and only one tiny bit of timing. I liked it. I think people are overthinking this one based on the previous maps.
quatrus 17 Aug, 2018 @ 1:09pm
Could not get through the broken glass , crouch didn't work and nothing to break the galss further - no clip through to pipe. timing on moving the cube to the button was a bit tight.
cochetmichel49 17 Aug, 2018 @ 9:42am
Expecting and waiting... leaving a "chance" the cube to break the glass... Not a Portal game...And so nice visuals ans so much hours to creatte...
joe98 16 Aug, 2018 @ 11:38pm
I cannot place a portal on the ground under the cube dropper. Therefore i can't do anything.
jandlml 16 Aug, 2018 @ 9:27pm
is there a trick to getting the cube . i cant seem to be able to do anything but bounce the cube around
Need boost! 16 Aug, 2018 @ 8:39pm
This is one of the best Portal 2 chambers that I have ever played. Awesome work!
aedifex beta 16 Aug, 2018 @ 8:33pm
I am super glad that you made these. The maps are well made and look great for certain. The puzzles are too gimmicky though and require a LOT of fiddling to get to work. This will tend to leave the player bored. I'm certainly in no position to criticize, but since these are something of a beta set, I wanted to be honest.
p4nther 16 Aug, 2018 @ 8:47am
hint - cube will break the glass
sass 16 Aug, 2018 @ 8:27am
Yeah, I have no goddamn clue what to do.
sass 16 Aug, 2018 @ 8:25am
I am completely, utterly at a loss.
kwinten 15 Aug, 2018 @ 9:52pm
i don't know how to pass the glass, i probably missed something..
tiiiiming stuff again :(
