@William V1 is a version made a long time ago, main differneces are V1 has less biomes, and no "void" or "continent" variant of island biomes, no "updrafts" that keep you afloat between islands, no skyfishing, no dungeons in the depths, and IMO worse and laggier backgrounds for the biomes.

oh also somthing just popped into my head when looking at the jpeg image . there could be a ring like structure surounding the Eye of the storm and it could be used a stabalizer . you can also fit a planet inside the eye in theory and would be a cool part of the skybox

@The Caretaker rude. But about the halo thing, probably because its hard to make a halo ring planet whose parallax looks good? like, you rotate the planet sideways so putting the cool halo going up into the sky in the background would look weird, and putting the halo wall kinda looks meh no? Also making dungeons in this game sucks from my experience. I hate tiled. Tried building dungeons for this mod and couldn't.

@The Caretaker if you are talking about the content I add in V2 (which this mod is the old V1 since they are incompatible), all it adds is some ruined versions of already existing ancient dungeons to the lower layers (without tile protection, so you can turn them into cool looking bases), and some really strong versions of mech combat drones with ancient coloring and slightly different textures. So it's not like there is actual lore/content expansions in the game other than that.

@The Caretaker I did make an unreleased conpat for FU that replaces the gases from fu to the gas giants of this mod, but other than that not rly.

@The Caretaker but a small spoiler, V2 worlds have actual ancient dungeons in the "core" layer and all accross the outer layers, and depending on your luck you will find interesting stuff in the background of the core layer.

@The Caretaker I could imagine it as an addon for V2 that adds a chance for some layers to have that biome's structures and stuff, but tbh sounds like a ton of work and haven't modded this game in quite a while other than finishing my 2 year old WIP of V2.

@The Caretaker there is actually a mod for that! I personally recommend the mod that allows you to toggle mech flight on planets, also this version is quite old, I also recommend that if u wanna try out this mod you check out V2 instead.

Basically, think shield worlds in halo, fortress worlds that the ruin can't invade in worst case scenario where it wins the war and destroys the galaxy/universe/whatever, built to preserve life in small, secluded islands of life that the ruin can't really consume, surrounded by swarms of really violent machines that will kill all biological life on sign.

@The Caretaker my brother in christ, you chose to buy the game with a giant meat planet as it's boss, where life naturally developed in frozen and lava planets, with a civilization of ancients that are known for terraforming planets and seeding life on them, and then come to the mod about being able to land in terraformed outer layers of a gas giant. Also, you realize that the upper layers of a gas giant have less dense atmosphere, right?

If you want some lore explanations tho, Lorewise, when you "land" on these gas giants, you are doing so in a small, eye-of-the-huricane area with enormous, stable updrafts keeping a few small rocks far above the more dense areas. The atmospheric preassure in those areas is actually quite close to earth's and it's kept stable by the machines down bellow the accesible area built by the ancients. BTW, this is the old version of the mod, and the new version has some more nods towards the "ancients where doing weird stuff in the lower areas" thing.

@Jean1337_ beta should be up in the workshop. That said it's incompatible with this version and worlds generated by it. And it has a bug where 1 kind of gas giant spawns without atmosphere for some reason. Aside of that mod should work flawlessly. I think.

@Jean1337_ the robots are there to guard something at the bottom. As for dungeons, I kinda stopped developing starbound mods in a while, but I do have a V2 version prototype with expanded world gen which does include a few special dungeons in the bottom of the planet. Sadly its unfinished with a a lot of biomes unfinished. I could fixe a few things and upload it as a separate mod if you are interested, but I doubt it will get developed further.

My only criticism is that this mod makes every gas giant a different shade of brown instead of the various colors they were able to before. This is something I hope can be fixed and improved upon at some point. Other than that, good mod!

@Omega68nova i can't even get clost to the gass giants in game.. and the planet sesrch mod did recognize this mod but couldn't find any gas giants that are landable.. iam guessing it is the planet generation overhaul that is conflicting with this mod then...

@StarLordPro you need to go to new chunks of the universe after installing this mod to land on the new gas giants. If you are trying to beam down to them and get instantly beamed back up that might be some dungeon mod or something similar that is bugged. If it's none of those 2 its probaly planet generation overhaul gas giants, if you still want to use this mod maybe get a version without the gas giant moons? I have one without them and works fine for me. Pretty sure they are compatible tho.

this mod seems to be incompatible with one or more mods i am using.. when i search for either of the 2 landable gass giants using the planet search mod it scans all the systems and do not find any gas giants that matches the search.. and when i go to a system i have not ben to i still can't land on them. the mods i am using that has to do with the galaxy and planets are planet search. more planet info (work with 1.4.x not guaranteed), [More planet info] 1.4 Quest Marker Fix, More planet info Lush Planet fix(Works with FU), Planet generation Overhaul - Bigger Planets more satellites around gas giants more dungeons and microdungeons spawn, Starmap zoom slider.

planetary converter can not completely transform an entire planet like this on the surface,but it can not placed anywhere else it is a headaache
