As for the mod over riding other sounds, make sure you disable this mod in the mods menu in game. Close your game and reopen it.


Load Steam
From the Library section, right-click on the game and select Properties from the menu.
Select the Local files tab and click the Verify integrity of game cache... button.
Steam will verify the game's files - this process may take several minutes.
Once the process is completed, the Check Window will automatically exit.

Then try again. If these fail then Im unsure where you are having porblems and the mod is a temp replacement of sounds. Hope this helps.

haha! Sorry I havent updated or fixed the small issue with the sounds on some peoples systems i.e playing fast, I've had other projects and alot of work on so forgive me.

I may however return in the summer to look into more sounds for L4D2 but im currently working on GMOD projects and Counter Strike. But glad its still a popular mod to date :)

i can't imagine playing without this mod after having it for so long. It's so damn funny.

this mod is to damn loud i know the volum was uped to fix not being heard at the right range but i never had that problem and now i'm geting all my music and other sound mods over riden with this and after while the speeded up song gets very anoying if it only played when YOU were smokered instead of when anyone got smoked to blow your eardrums out with anoying music that'd be fine

It plays fast for me too. Again, it's only when I'm the one being pulled. However, I run a Windows 7.

Plays fast for me as well, but only when I'm beng pulled. Plays fine when others are getting pulled. I'm running win 8. Core 2 duo. GT 130m.

When i get pulled the winning song is like super sped up so its almost annoying now. but when others are smoked it seems to do the song just fine (if it even happens to play) but i love the mod anyway still man. :)

Hey Snowskeeper! I had problems with the sounds in v1 with being too quiet and boosted it to a level that i think works just for laughs, sorry that people may be using it in VS mode to somewhat cheat at knowing the location of a smoker but that's there call. Sorry that i cant do anything at the moment but thanks for the info! Duly noted :)

As amazingly awesome as this is, could you please turn the volume down? It works in VS mode, and currently players are able to use it to detect Smokers from a much longer distance away than normal. =(
It's a great mod otherwise.
